  1. Just wanted to reach out to everyone I met yesterday at our GTG in Manhattan. It certainly was a pleasure for Lor and I to meet some of the folks I've been talking to here on RWG, and I wish everyone a safe journey home! Looking forward to next time! :D

  2. Another gem I recently got back from The Zigmeister, and again couldn't be happier. It's a Davidsen 005, with the dial swapped out for a Josh dial, and then re-lumed in C1. Correct cannon pin & fat crown. Other than that I gave it a gorgeous Pawmarker strap I had waiting in the box for this watch to return... Enjoy!

  3. ...And I quote:

Please Note:You can use the parts in the watch to modify or make Repairs to a ** Panerai Watch** such is the Quality of this Stunning Watch. This is an Eta Watch with a Swiss made automatic Chronograph movement, **and is in no way associated with Panerai** its keeps 100% prefect time, i have sold a number of these stunning watches and had very positive feedback from delighted bidders.

If you have a issue please do not attempt to open the watch as this will void any warranty

Wow, doesn't that sound like a load of BS!

  4. Thanks for the info. He has a lot of great straps but I couldn't find the corc in dark blue. I'll shoot him an email and ask....

Here you go, it's under his "Alligator Collection". Just ask him for blue stiching, and he'll custom make you one :

PS: The color of the strap matches the watch perfectly!

  5. Congrats to a great watch. One of my favored PAMs. Dial is excellent (color, texture, fonts) and CG is thick and beefy.

Like your Walter strap with the light blue stitching. Compliments the beautiful dial and Ti case. I assume this is real croc/alligator? Mind telling where you ordered it from? I am looking for this kind of strap (24/24 in 125'85 or 130/80).

This is one of Smat's. Here's his photobucket: hxxp://s31.photobucket.com/albums/c388/pam2pam/

  6. Yes, the white C1 is a perfect complement to the blue dial, as well as the Ti case and the blue strap are.

I also love the light blue stitching.

And I wonder what it would be the effect of 80% C1 + 20% light blue lume (yummm...).

Definitely a great watch, congrats, I am even a little jealous! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Is the caseback as good as everything else?

    Thanks for the compliment!

The case back is equally impressive, here's a pic:

  7. Here's a watch I just got back from The Zigmeister, and quite frankly I am at a loss for words of how perfectly done this piece is. After holding this watch in my hands, and taking a good look at it, I can truly appreciate the time and patience it must take to modify one of these watches.

Starting with the dial, The Zigmeister has captured the look (IMO) of what a bronze dial should look like after 50 or so years of sunlight and slow oxidation under a plexi crystal. The Zigmeister has retained the brown dial perfectly, yet it looks old, and tired. This is the kind of dial that, in the words of a watch connoisseur from the upper east side of NYC, "talks to you". The aging of the lume on the hands and numbers is also on par, and again looks perfect.

Besides the dial and hands, The Zigmeister suggested changing the front and back crystals to correct items, and.... he "aged" the front plexi by yellowing the interior side..WOW.

The case has been aged appropriately, with the crown tube being modified by bringing it in closer to the case, allowing the crown to fit flush against the case when tightened down.

Out back, the rolex plates have been aged by removing them and soaking them in an acid bath solution.

My contribution is just the strap, having picked it up a while ago and aging it myself.

    Here's some pics, enjoy!

  8. It's nice to see two modded 082's on the forum! Here's one done by another super talented artist, the man The Zigmeister himself!

My watch started out as one of the first offered by Davidsen, and although a beautiful piece already, the dial screamed for a re-lume. Davidsen had sent me one of his new dials, but his newer ones have a slightly smaller font Marina Militare. So, I asked The Zigmeister if he could mod my exisisting dial by removing the green lume and applying C1, which he replied yes.

I just got the watch back the other day, and have to admit, it is breathtaking! The C1 re-lume job is perfect ! ! !

The watch has a thick titanium crown, correct cannon pin, and a custom Walter strap. Enjoy!

  9. Freddy, I'm selling it on fleabay.. probably not a good idea since I'll probably kick myself later. I'm thinking about building an MBW 5512, so maybe I'll keep the bracelet and use it on that. It's got gen 380b end links with the 2mm hoops. The 580 end links I've got are reps that have been modded by me. I dremeled the small hoops completely out so the link/bracelet sits right on the watch

JoJo -- I wish you had posted a few days ago. I found a 93150, but I still need a pair of gen 580/585 end links (with the soldered inner hoops that fit the 2mm dia springbars) in case you have these and are willing to part with them.
