  1. I'm asking the same question, guess I should have looked harder! Trevor? Where?? Price point??? Better than Josh? Same question on Andrew. Probably going BK/Noob, but might as well look around. Cheers.
  2. So it's fair to say that the noob's modded by BK would be a superior product to Josh/PC's offering(s) - if yes - generally speaking, why? I have actually pm'd BK, but clearly I can't ask questions like this of him. Aside from those two (bearing in mind I gather WM9 not avail) anything else I should consider? I have to say I had no idea outside of crappy thai night markets that such a sophisticated rep market even existed, I'm also flabbergatsed at the quality of some of these reps, my DSN PAM 02a being a good example, more so when they've been modded.
  3. Bugger! So being an owner of a v3 WM9/BK how do you think the noob version he mod's stands up, as shown on this site? Looks quite good to me, but I haven't studied the real deal and Rolex's have changed a bit since I bought my gen ss sub 12 or so yrs back. I assume by your name youre a pam fan? As mentioned above I have a gen ss sub. A while back I got a 47mm gen Oris Diver, made my sub feel small so I started looking at larger watches and ended up with a DSN PAM02a (delighted with it - compared well to a gen I saw recently). That's what got me thinking about a DSSD, like my ss sub, but bigger. How does the DSSD wear in your opinion?
  4. I've recently bought a DSN PAM02a which I'm exceptionally pleased with so have a handle on the process. I think I'll probably pull the trigger on a noob DSSD from BK with ETA2836-2/SW200 (basically the same mvt?). I want to get the best I can as I have a gen sub so will be a little pickier than I was with the PAM. Can/does BK improve watertightness so the watch can be used in a pool/bath/shower without worry (I don't want to dive). Many thanks for advice so far guys. DannyBoy.
  5. In addition to Josh and bklm I se lots of refernce to WM9 - where do I look and what/who else is also worth a look. Strikes me bklm has some of the best feedback/higher end product?
  6. So if you look at Josh/PC's DSSD you have the option of a swiss eta 2836-2 or an asian 3135, what's the diff - I assume the swiss is better, so why no additionl cost?? http://www.1-pc8838.com/000rlsd00088-deep-dweller-asia-3135-p-8985.html
  7. Can someone point me in the right direction for quality Rolex reps. I've bought Panerai reps from DSN and talked to Josh. Who's good on Rolex reps? Can someone explain the difference of the various movements I'm likely to encounter and the various pitfalls. For example I see Josh offers the option of swiss eta something or other over an asian mvt - whats the difference? A few pointers'd be appreciated, perhaps with a few snaps. I'm half tempted to pull the trigger on a PC DSSD and Project X Sub LV on nato. On a different note my 12 yr old gen sub is in for a quote for it's first ever service - dreading to hear the cost - been told it'll be a minimum NZ$1,000 and probably more as it's never been touched. Eek. Look forward to hearing from you.
  8. I'm no expert being a newbie too. I went through the same exercise. I think in terms of off the shelf you're looking at c$400+ from DSN (I got an o2a for $380 from him with swiss mvt) or c$300 from Perfect Clones, whom I read good things about. I don't recall seeing much, if anything at the pricepoint you mention. There's a fair bit available around $100-150 but I don't think it's so good. I spent $100 on a Getat 'fiddy' which is really nice, but it doesn't hold a candle to the DSN. If I were you I'd go in the middle and spend c$300 at Perfect Clones - make sure it's not Perfect2Clones tho! Time to start searching............

  10. OK I guess on handwind reps you look for Swiss 6497 swann neck etc. What about auto,GMT,chrono reps. Would someone be kind enough to give me a brief run down on what to look for and what the key differences are? I see some movements have XXXX-1 or XXXX-2, does -2 mean 2nd/newer version or does this relate to position of seconds i.e. @ 9 rather than 3???? I'm quite keen on a few of the Submersible, Chrono, GMT's etc offered by DSN/PC and the like, but I'm finding it hard to understand the various movement options and what sort of quality/reliability those movements offer over one another. For example if I see a Submersible with Asian 7750, does that mean there is possibly a Swiss 7750 that's better? Do GMT reps or those with power reserve work as well as those that don't have the additional functionality i.e. more to go wrong? Sorry if I seem a bit dim, only been into Reps for a few months and trying to assimilate this info is hard because it's not summarised in one post/place. I appreciate this is a lengthy point to answer, hope someone can offer some clarity. If you could point me to other site that have a dummies guide to all this stuff that'd be a help also. DannyBoy.
  11. Another question for you - who/where do I go for the next level or so up from DSN/PC and what sort of price point is that? How waterproof are PC's offerings and can it easily be improved by a local watchsmith. I don't wanna go diving but the odd dip in the pool or shower'd be good.
  12. Really, why? I chose DSN because I saw so little negative feedback about him, almost none, across 3 forums. Mind you I'm no expert. I will say I'm delighted with my 02a. I couldn't tell much diff between it and the gen pam I looked at the week before it arrived. All that said my Radiomir will come from Josh, his pricing looks fine and his reputation seems high here so worth a crack. Appreciate your feedback.
  13. Hi, From prior posts you'll see I'm new to Panerai hom's/reps. First purchase was a Getat 'fiddy', second a DSN 02a which is fantastic. I'm thinking of buying a Radiomir from Josh/Perfect Clones as I hear he does good work too and DSN has a supply issue on quite a few models. Firstly can you tell me about Cartel, what do they offer and what sort of price point and where do I look. Who else should I be looking at that's around the DSN price point? Thanks in advance guys. DannyBoy.
  14. Phew, I was indeed looking at the wrond site - eek. I haven't had a chance to look at the correct one yet - assume he's easy to contact? As I say I've been delighted with my DSN, he just seems to really be struggling with stock. Actually at the lower end I've been quite pleased with my Getat MM 'fiddy'. Keeps really good time. The Tat switched me onto DSN. I can see some $$$ getting spent over the next few months! Thanks for all your feedback guys.
  15. Hi, Recenetly got a PAM02a from DSN which is fantastic, sadly he's out of a lot of other models I like. Came across perfect clones recently, they sem to be in the price bracket below and also offer a huge range of product - on this basis I assume the quality is below/well below DSN? Has anyone actually bought from them? I'm probably after a swiss swan neck Radiomir of some description, m1ybe 183, 210. Anyone able to tell me more. The sheer volume of stock and options raises QC issues in my mind. Oh, and who's Josh? Another name I've seen associated with reps. Anywhere else I could look that is reliable but not above DSN's price point. Cheers, DannyBoy.
  16. Sorry guys, no photo's as I've literally just unwrapped my new watch. What can I say. DSN is a pleasure to deal with. I probably sent him 20+ emails asking questions on various PAM's. He answered every email very quickly and didn't leave any key points unanswered. Lack of availability of other models meant I went with the 02a. What can I say, WOW. I'm sure it wont be spot on compared with gen, but I can't tell and I doubt anyone else would either. I own a gen Rolex and Oris etc and the quality of this rep is in line with those. It looks expensive. By way of pre-purchase research I went to a Panerai dealer and tried on the new sandwich dial version of the 02a. This looks and feels really really close! I guess we'll see how accurate it keeps time, hopefully the swiss mvt'll be regulated and fairly accurate. One other point, shipping was incredibly fast. If this turns out to be accurate and doesn't stop I'll be on to him for a 183h as soon as he gets more. Is posting pix easy?
  17. Can you link me to Sead's site/collection. I whetted my appetite on a Getat and having been trying to buy from DSN, sadly he's out of most models I'm keen on such as the 183, 112 etc.
  18. I'm looking at a DSN 03a, how did you find his cg/lever - tight, loose or spot on??
  19. Hi, I'm new to this forum and indeed most things Panerai. Anyhow I recently bought a Fiddy from Getat out of curiosity and having got the bug and done some research I've been in dialogue with DSN over a PAM 03a; http://s40.photobucket.com/albums/e230/watchmmx/Pam%2003A/ I picked DSN as he appears to have a good rep in terms of the next level or so up from the likes of Tat. Four questions; 1) What feedback can you give positive or negative about DSN, watch-u-seek, HomageForum are all saying good things. 2) Any issues known with DSN's crown guards/levers (my Tat isn't very tight but I didnt expect it to be 100%). 3) Who else sells at DSN's price point (where do I look). 4) Anything you want to point out about the/his 03a (all my other watches have black faces hence the white dial choice - I nearly went Radiomir Blckseal)? Hope you can enlighten me. My biggest worry is spending $350-450 on a 'decent' rep and it having a crappy cg/lever combo. Also DSN says you can swim with these watches - anyone put this to the test?
