Alright, after browsing the world - oh so wild - web for a few days, i came across the absolutely most gorgeous looking 5512 dial ive ever seen, the 5512 (?) Chapter ring.
Appears to me this model was a early one, coming with only (?) PCG's.
In an attempt to make my own, for a reasonable price, i now consider fetching a yuki pcg case, or a regular one and then mod the crownguards. Im looking for more info regarding this dial variation?
Any sources for rep dials? I know yuki sells a 5510 Chapter, but it misses the dept row in the dial?.
Currently im sitting with a captial, a critical need to create this piece and the following:
Gen Insert
Gen T19
Gen Crown/Tube
2836-2 (not going for a gen one here)
Basically im after a dial, handset and a case.
Any ideas, tips?

Any chance youd share origin of parts /price?

Alright, so ive got a spedid example of a 94010 Snowflake, and by now, i am fully capable of mixing an even
lume with evently distributed lume power, and without spilling it over the dial.
Summing it up , i know how to lume, but im bad at getting the colour right.
I use GMAX Watch-Lume Green Powder, and Their Arcylic Matt Binder, which mixes fantastically and is easy to apply.
However, i seem to always catch a hue of green when i mix it. No matter if i paint the markers white before relume or whatever.
Im looking for a lightly yellowish creamy patina like on the picture below (borrowed). Nothing brightly yellow, nor white.
How can i tint the color? Any ideas? Need i new relume powder and or binder? What products?
All help is greatly appreciated!

Quick question partly on the subject. On for example a Josh 5512, will there be a need to countersink the tube or is it just a straight tap and installation?
Regards

Yes, don't make it less strong by mixing pigmented powder to the lume. You will get the color you want and you can dim the lume so it will not turn green.
That is how I did it and I still have enough night time glow to read the watch in the dark.
Care to specify?? What pigment power? Where to source?
Kind Regards

Adorable! I find myself struggling with finding a nice colour for the lume, the "daylight" color seems to get a tint of green from the luminous powder, and it bugs me out! Any tip?

great job! Been fun to follow this work as it has gone from sketches to really good prints!
Best of luck in trimming it and end up swimming in dial orders

2874 or 2836-2 strikes my mind, with the prior being the original ETA if im not too confused. I use a 2836-2 in my 94010 and works just fine, managed to get one at about 120 USD in great shape

Dirty question perhaps, but an honest one - what can one expect to pay for Reg to source one of the above mentioned watches?

i got a few unstamped ones if u want? Could send away a set for shipping fee, should be like max 5usd

Thanks for the kind words! Anyone knows if the tube from the used cartel works with a gen 703? Or us it always a must to find a new tube?

All right, some of you might have seen the start of my Snowflake 94010 posted here about 3 weeks ago?
Not? well just as good, better start reading here instead
It all started as following:
Josh 5513 Base
Gen Swiss 2836-2
Yuki Dial/Hands
Random insert without pearl
Crystal beaten to death to fit random insert
While i actually enjoyed it like that, i kinda felt like this handsome watch deserved something better, something way better. First of was a new crystal, a nice AM T39 from a fellow member, great! While it did indeed make a nice improvement, i decided that no, this being my first watch build ever, i must do it properly!
I took of searching ebay, and finally came across a very nice 1680 Genuine NOS insert, thin font, at 200usd incl shipping. Fair price i thought, considering the condition and current market (others i peeked at was like 250usd, and often without pearl). Paid and done, this morning it arrived and i installed it.
The only thing im now looking for is a better crown+tube, then i will settle with my first watch ever built.
Currently:
Case - Josh 5513 Base
Case mods - Aged, softened and repolished
Movement - Gen Swiss ETA 2836-2
Crystal - Nice Aftermarket T39 Dome
Insert - Genuine 1680 NOS Thin font Insert
First picture shows the old insert and crystal, 2-4 are new obviously, and the 5th shows the brightness of pearl!
-
Looking great! Make sure to announce if these will make it across the pond

So im into getting a gen 1680 insert, fat or bold, with a nice pearl and all. What should i expect to pay from ebay/vrf? Dont wanna get ripped and dont wanna miss a deal..

So, to get the gen crown/tube into my Josh case, i feel like i might mess it up. Is there anyone on the board, located in the EU with the skill and the will to do it for a fellow member? Ofc payment is no problem.
Who should one poor guy (me) turn to, and what shall i expect to pay for the job, excl. shipping?
Kind Regards

Bought the asain, had no problems with putting in the ETA
Heres a pic with a insert i aged:

Thanks alot! Anyone knows if the Clark T39 is a straight swap and not too big for a Josh insert etc?
-
is the Clark T39 a straight fit for the bezel and insert with Josh's base? so i dont have a insert not fitting the crystal
-
thanks for the nice comments, planned upgrades are gen crown/tube and a new insert and crystal, prolly clarks and a josh insert with the vintage pearl.
Sure was a pain, the crystal i used was way to big for the insert to fit, so i had to shave it down with the dremel, then repolish it with said tool.
As of now im just considering, cream vintage relume towards a yellow tone and bleach insert, or let it be? what say you?.
More pictures to come ofc.

Hello lads,
Here comes my very first watch build, the first ive ever done.
I grew my intrests as my uncle, who was a talented and well known watchsmith passed away in cancer last year - and ever since, ive had a keen eye for timepieces.
After lurkin on forums, trying some base reps and studying for about 6 months, in may, i pulled the trigger on a fine Swiss 2836 ETA, and decided that a Snowflake No-date was the watch for me.
Said and done; after many hours with tools, and my dear Dremel!
Swiss 2836
Josh case
Yuki dial/hands
Completely reshaped crystal
What u think?

Alright, for a ongoing project id need help installing a yuki gen spec tube into a 5512 case (stubby cgs).
Since i lack the tools to do metal works, im wondering if there is anyone who can do it in the EU?
PMs or tips much appreciated.
