  1. Thanks. I'm going to take a closer look compared to the gen.
  2. I am already thinking of the next project. I'm thinking of a 1016 case from NDT (especially with Z's group buy!). For the dial, I'm torn between a classic Explorer and the Space Dweller. LH, please help here! I know you have both. Are NDT's offerings up to par? Thanks!
  3. What is the price of that case - regular price?
  4. Looks like the URL expired on Feb 19.
  5. If I'm on the jury, I side with Hike. I read the PMs. There was no hesitation on Hike's part. Not happy, refund. I bought a watch last year. The insert had more scratches than disclosed. I PMd the seller only to point out that, "hey, I got the watch. Thanks. A few more scratches than I thought." His response, like Hike was immediate. "Sorry, I didn't notice." Difference, he offered me a small discount instead of a refund, I said, "sure". I didn't ask for one but was offered something to compensate me. Seems Hike has done the same. I think laser-gate is more interesting!
  6. In the latest twists, Orchi has chimed in. (I love Orchi!). He brings up a case where a previous seller had purchased from the seller in question and brought to the forum's attention his doubts. This contradicts Richard Carver's previous statement that there no never any complaints. In his reply to Orchi, he clearly writes it off as a honest mistake from the seller!! WTF? It appears as though Richard is going out of his way to protect this seller. Even threatening Orchi! Poor Orchi. He's not a seller ( at least, I've never seen him as a dealer) yet people complain about him, according to Richard more than they complain about the seller. Wait, I thought there were no complaints about the seller? You see... There's a coverup over there. Everytime someone speaks up, they are shot down quickly. It's a cult thing...
  7. It looks gen to me. As Diesel said, it looks tall and just "right"
  8. As others have said, refund offered. Enough said!
  9. Just make sure you sort by date if you are looking for recent stuff. Other than that, I've noticed that topics do not move up the list when recent posts have been added. For example, the latest x-ray discussion has new posts but it stays way down on the list of threads!
  10. I've had work done by PB and Vac. Vac's lume in the daytime looked yellowish. PB looks spot on. I am not sure if Vac has changed his stuff since this is probably close to 2 years ago.
  11. Gen or rep, most assume all Rolex and Louis Vuitton are fakes. Sometimes, I even wonder if the guy sitting next to me on the train or plane is wearing rep Dr. Dre Beats!
  12. Hmmm... Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond. Connery, a very close second. Skyfall and Casino Royale were just amazing.
  13. Since everyone is afraid of being sued over there, who is the HK seller?
  14. I've said it before. Those things are exactly why I will never buy a gen vintage. Better buying what I know. Phong + gen parts assembled is fine by me!

For me, I picked a dial. Got the QC, paid. He mailed it. Maybe since yours is a custom, it's different

Wow, CC. That sucks! I had a similar problem a few months ago with a $1000 PN dial. He eventually came through and sent me a better one as promised but it took awhile. I have another one in transit as we speak. Hopefully it comes as advertised. If not, as others have said,PP claim all the way, I held back last time and gave him the benefit of the doubt. I even mailed him back his other crappy dial at my own expense. I'm shocked to be honest especially as it appears you have given him some good business.
  17. That's likely because you have not established yourself as a regular member.
  18. It's my first wrist check. I could not help myself! Picture is from earlier Saturday. Looks even better in person. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  19. Where? I'll take it! I love this particular watch. I've seen one listed once and it commanded a huge price. This is no Domino's. only 78 were allegedly made.
  20. Draft a small one-page contract and have both parties sign. On it, include your personal info and his which you should have from the bank info. That's what I did once. Or, use Paypal and cover the fees. Paypal is like insurance. I think I have an idea what you are buying...
  21. I agree. Some of these lower priced "gens" might be Frankens for all we know. Here, at least you know what you are buying! I actually noticed someone over at VRF enquiring about a Daytona (I think) and some newbie (likely a member here) replied that it was a Phong!
  22. It all depends how you define a group buy. If a group buy means 4-5 buys and the dealer lowers the price/per and ships to each individual, that's low risk. If you're talking about one guy making a bulk buy and collecting money up front or fronting the money, that's risky. Wm9 was a stand up guy (so I heard) until he vanished with deposits for the elusive WM9 SD.
