  1. Pics are gone but I recall that the right leg under the "R" seemed too close to the left leg.
  2. Been there myself. I started with a gen. I discovered this wonderful community. Sold my gen and stocked myself full of reps. Next, I picked out all the tells. Started selling them and getting Frankens instead. Obviously, spending $1,500 to $2,000 on Frankens and superfrankens is easy. Don't get me started on the Daytona's. See my MQ Paul Newman dial thread which will set me back +$1,000! All said, I've spent considerably more on all my reps than my original gen! I'm now considering another gen. Why? Like others have said, a lot is personal. I can afford the odd $3,000-$4,000 gen every now and then. What I cannot afford is the $25,000-$50,000 gens. I've convinced myself (for now) that the modern Rolex such at the above mentioned price points is affordable. Vintage Daytona's, Subs and SDs will have to be Frankens. The 6542, that will also have to be Franken. My PAMs... All reps for now. I'm sure you will end up questioning yourself again and again. Back and forth we go.
  3. Well, it's about 33% more than Phong. I have not posted any of Phong's pics but it does look notably better. Is it worth 33% more? That's in the eye of the beholder.
  4. Weren't you banned from TRF for posting Freddy's 6542?
  5. That's good to hear!!? We are still working out the details but it will be over $1,000.
  6. That's what I said! I had to make sure I wasn't on Stefano's site when I was looking at this one! Thanks again for the help! ;-) Yes, subtle differences, I agree.
  7. Here are pics I just obtained from MQ for a Paul Newman exotic dial. Comments, opinions, thoughts... Personally, my jaw is still on the floor... Thanks
  8. I concur!! One of my favorite quotes, "for me, the action is the juice." From Heat, with Robert DeNiro.
  9. Yes, but a service lumi dial and hands were installed.
  10. Thanks for the input. Personally, I like the luminova dial and hands better than the tritium. I have a BK Transformer and prefer the modern look vs the vintage look on this particular model. I like the fact that its recently serviced and has new dial and hands. Also, I like the price point. I have a gen jubilee I can throw on it.
  11. Wow we've revived this thread!! The one for me is the DSSD. I tried on a gen about 10 times before I bought a super duper BK/PBdad. The size concerned me. I love this watch. It's beautiful in pics and everyone that wears one looks like a million bucks. I got over the size thing and ordered one. I loved it...in the box. On my wrist, it's a beast! I sold it. Got the bug again. Ordered another one. It's still big even though I have put on a few pounds!! Now, I wear it in my rotation. It's my go-to watch for a t-shirt day. Even my PAMs look small compared to this thing. I just wish it was 40mm.
  12. Thanks for the input guys. It does sound good. If I factor the fact that I am missing a bracelet, the cost takes me a little over $4,000. I will sleep on it. Try to get some pics up later.
  13. I've been offered a gen 16710 GMT Master II for $3,500. It's an early-to-mid 90's just recently serviced with papers. Service dial and hands were installed. It comes on non-branded aftermarket jubilee. It's in great shape - I mean, just serviced and looks great as all Pepsi's do. The Pepsi is on my short-list of gens I would like to own in my lifetime (Thank you By-Tor!) What are your thoughts?
  14. Great idea and a lot of work I see being put into these designs. I can't wait to see actual finished dials and the close up shots, naturally!! Good luck
  15. I'm going to try to copy that shot. I have a few of these MBWs - 2 look alright, 1not so much. On your pic, it looks better than alright!!
  16. I was thinking more of ordering pizzas and hookers... I'm not a violent guy!
  17. No respect for anyone. Does he not realize someone here must have his address?
  18. I think for my next one, I will buy a complete watch and swap the movement.
  19. I know what you mean... Fake gold 44mm chrono's on every other woman!
  20. They're hiding the high-end watches until after the election.
