  1. She is indeed quite majestic!
  2. I use to hate the Comex. Something about the white logo sprawled across the dial. Lately, it's grown on me. Seriously grown. I'm not sure what to get. Any advice? I have plenty of date-subs and plenty of Sea Dwellers. Therefore, I'm leaning towards a no-date Comex. My understanding is that this would need an HEV valve. Anyways, whatever input you guys have would be appreciated. Thanks
  3. I've got a brown spot on mine. Where do i pick up this cleaner/polish? Will it rub off the "gold"?
  4. Will a gen 3035 fit in a SSD cse?
  5. I think JMB was clear! He actually installed it already on someone else watch and it fits.
  6. I think the market prices have dropped slightly. 12-18 months ago, I couldn't find one on TRF for under 10k. Lately, I've seen several closer to 9k-9.5k for SS. I always look as it guides my real hobby here! As for the rule of thumb, 25% is my rule of thumb. There is a franken 16520 for sale somewhere for 4.5k if I recall but that's 50% and it would have to be a grail watch for me to fork 50% into a franken.
  7. Wow! Great looking shots. I'm on the hunt for a 1570. I've chickened out of a few in the last several weeks when the bidding went over my budget.
  8. Thanks but that's a brand new 2011 explorer!
  9. I have a NDT dial currently on my ETA but the spacing of the fonts is a little off - maybe only WIS would notice but he'll, tharen why we build Frankens! @ Akira, thanks. I will definitely do that to make sure there are no surprises in the event I go with him.
  10. GIven the current market price for a DRSD dial, it's quite obvious that it will have to be aftermarket. Although I have a nice old-school MBW DRSD with a NDT dial and a very reliable Swiss ETA, I am longing for something powered by a gen 1570. It's a real shame as PB did amazing work on that dial. Add the beautiful Franken 1665 that Basketbob built and my desire is further accentuated!!! Although I might build a GW 1665 one day, it's the Double-Red that grabs my attention. It's the Double-Red that brought me here. The Submariner was always a nice watch until I discovered the SeaDweller. It's lack of cyclops and rugged look made it my favorite (until I discovered the Daytona, of course!) Hours spent on doubleredseadweller.com eventually led me to this community of fine watches and, fine, knowledgeable people. Here is Ingod's current offering of the DRSD dial. What do you guys think? Is there anything better out there? What can be done to improve it? Thanks
  11. Beautiful. You are definitely inspiring me...
  12. Freddy, you have to stop with the pics! Everytime I think I'll be fine with what's in the box, you do that to me! To be clear, you replaced the crown that is on the dial? Beautiful duo, friend!
  13. Freddy, that dial s awesome! Where did you source it?
  14. Wow! Those 2 gens are stunning. Just when you thought having both a white dial and black dial version was enough... By the way, did anyone catch The Voice after the Superbowl? Adam Levine has always impressed me with his variety of Rolex watches but we got some nice shots of his Vintage Daytona! I watch more for that than the singing... And the Aguilera cleavage, of course!
  15. That is true. Throw in a Newman exotic dial and, then, life is grand!
  16. Spectaculaire! Looks like you have the 4 requisite Vintage Daytona's! Life is good...
  17. I saw your post on VRF. Not a single response (last I checked). Sometimes, I don't get those guys, super knowledgeable but other times, they just ignore. It looks pretty good to me.
  18. This will impact the used WM9 YM market....
  19. Yes both DW. It's unanimous so far! Black dial Daytona already in the box!
