  1. Cleaned everything with toothbrush. The problem is the spacer. It looks fine, flat and all but it's preventing the bezel to turn. I even tried a gen spacer and same problem. I can also confirm that a gen bezel will not fit. The search continues for a gen retaining ring. No spacer, it turns beautifully. What's the impact of removing the spacer?
  2. Got bot the bezel and insert off. Removed all gorilla glue. I am buying shoe goo tomorrow! Great advice here. Thanks all especially Offshore!
  3. I pulled the bezel off. Guess what, no clickspring! A bit of background. The back watch arrived to me with the insert off. My plan was to glue it back on. I practiced with a noob sub. You can read about this fiasco here! Now, where dd the click spring go? I did not lose it when I popped the bezel off. I'm 100% sure. I was very careful working over a container. Could it have come off since there was no insert? Anyways, can someone guide me on re-installing a click spring? I have a gen. To be honest, it looks like a broken piece of a paper clip. I will also try to pop in my gen bezel and see what happens. Thanks!
  4. Thanks O/S. Good info. Wish I had one of your handy tools to pull the bezel off! Will try
  5. Do you think if I heat the insert, I will be able to get the insert off?
  6. Thanks. I've been practicing with a noob sub.
  7. The glue has hardened and expanded! I agree, shoe glue was an option but did not have it. Gorilla glue was also an option and handy. Can I heat the thing and remove, start over?
  8. Okay, I swapped inserts (first time) and followed the tutorial to the letter. Used Gorilla Glue, used a needle and applied only a small quantity (obviously too much!) 24hrs later, I see glue on the underside. Clearly, too much especially since this sucker expands. What do I do?
  9. I think I'm gonna start by ordering a complete aftermarket kit from WO and see if that works. If it doesn't fit, I'll send it back and swallow the shipping costs. I guess I am not touching the ring! Maybe I will have to abandon the Gen bezel assembly all together!!! Why is this gen part so hard to source???
  10. Damn! He could have sold it for parts here and bought some new tools! Or used the proceeds to buy a Rubber B!
  11. Thanks. I'll have a look tonight. Ideally, a little sanding will work. As you know from my other post which you reponded to, I might try fitting my gen bezel on and sand that one. Who knows, the "fit" might be better. I am starting to understand what 1:1 means... there's a little bit of rounding in one of those numbers.
  12. thanks. I guess I will have to mod either the rep crystal retaining ring or the gen bezel to get a good fit.
  13. I just received a WM9 LV V3 from another member and the bezel is a pain to turn. Ok, not quite a wrench but I must apply some serious force to turn the bezel. Has anyone else encountered this issue? BK suggested I try to sand down the underside of the bezel. Thanks
  14. Well, no luck. The retaining rings were not the correct ones. Anyone know the measurements of a gen retaining ring?
  15. I'm relatively new to the hobby and can't relate yet! Just about a year in. Just swapping an insert is exciting for me. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. It is damn addicting though.
  16. Thanks. Some listed on VRF with these measurements. Crystal retaining rings for some variations of the submariner/turnographs. 30.26 30.13 30.84 36.26 measurements are in mm Any idea if that fits? I will try calling him.
  17. I've posted related posts on the subject but it's become clear I need to source a gen crystal retaining ring to fit my gen bezel assembly to my WM9. Is there a part number I should be looking for? Measurements? I just saw some posted on VRF - a little too rich for me but it got me thinking that I might need to know the specifics. Your help is appreciated!
  18. I have 2 Spinmaster's! Now look at my signature! I feel the same.
  19. Great collection. As someone else already said, you beat me to one of those watches. You have a very quick trigger, my friend. ENjoy and wear them in good health.
  20. That's a good looking watch! Nothing like a nice retro GMT. A Pepsi insert would like great, I'm sure.
  21. Re-read this thread again... Had to see the pictures. Always an inspiration!
  22. i would hope all watches are authenticated before being auctioned off. In Canada, I have been to a few Seized Goods auction. The watches get all the attention. I am very good at starting off the bidding... It's always a neat place to compare gens to whatever piece I wear to the auction. Last time I compared my BK/WM9 Yacht Master and was amazed. If the one they were auctioning off did not have a tag on it, I think the girl handling the jewelry would have taken mine!
