  1. Hi,

I have a question, hoping that some of you guys, could know the answer:

As you know, the printer is going to make the overlays for this Inge DW.

The brass foil they are going to use, are 0,20 mm thick, while the actual overlays are 0,15 mm thick.

Would you think that a 0,05 mm of more thickness could be a problem?

I don't know.... tolerance issues are always scary. Experts please..

Was there already a first run done ??

umm... Lello is waiting for feedback re: his question right above yours...

  2. The second is very choppy and I sure hope that I am not faced with the same issue than on my 3 IWC Portugiesers..... Eddie ensured me that the issues have been fixed - we'll see!

Hmmm... I hope it has _really_ been fixed... I'll wait a while first.. see the body count if any, then pull the trigger

  3. @watchlover that's assuming a lot of negatives and if that happened every time it would be a fair comparison... that scenario I think is very unlikely though...

    Unlikely?

    Assuming a lot of negatives?

With all due respect, Deve, you are the one who's assuming. I'm not pulling this one out of thin air. Murphy's law does hold :)

It happened to me couple of times--in a row.. I posted my rant in RWI.. people are bewildered how I got into such an unlucky streak.. :(

Based on my experience, I think the quality of the item is more important..

no offense intended to anyone: I can have the best customer service in the world, but if I don't have good control over the quality of my items, it is crapola.

If I have to choose between the two extremes, I'd rather buy from a concise man who personally inspects his items rather than buy from a man with good customer service with poor item quality...

Don't get me wrong. I like good communication and good quality items --who doesn't? :Jumpy:

  4. Haha.. I don't quite get the rolex sub craze either.. but hey, your favorite song is yours to like.. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

If I don't like your favorite song so what? :) It should not matter.

    Take music for example,

I know people who can listen and enjoy to the later works of Thelonious Monk easily, like "Evidence" from the latest uncovered Carnegie Hall recording.. Maybe they hear something I don't.. or maybe they are just saying they like it to impress me..

Same thing goes for watches IMHO.. whatever stirs--or shakes--your martini :D

  5. I received my SMP in two weeks. Very pleased with it. Why is everyone bashing TTK? I don't get it.

Think of it this way; here's a possible scenario:

    1. You buy a watch

    2. You get it in 4 BUSINESS days.. CUSTOMS RISK involved

    3. The watch has QC errors

    4. You send the watch back... another 4 business days with GLOBAL EXPRESS shipping (+US$25) WITH CUSTOMS RISK to boot.. you could LOSE it in transit back and POOF goes your money

    5. Seller processes your item for 2-3 business days

    6. you wait twiddling your thumbs again... another 4 business days if your lucky.. REMEMBER THE CUSTOMS RISK?

Note it takes also a long time, much more frustration, and a higher degree of risk.... but of course one wouldn't know all this if one hasn't been purchasing many reps.

Thus, Neil is providing us a good service, no?

  6. ...and the eternal answer: the best subs are made by MONTRES ROLEX, the US (they have nuclear-powered subs), germany, and more...

Depends on how much you're willing to spend of course? 1 billion dollars? 2 billion dollars? ;) ;)

    j/k

Look around, see comparison shots, and last but not least, LOOK at your Wallet :D

Ask yourself this: which rep strikes you as acceptable for your money? ALL reps have flaws. Which flaws can you accept?

  7. Yes I recommend sending to The Zigmeister too.

I took one of my watch for simple hand removal by a local "watchmaker?!?" in san mateo. Told him I need to refinish the hands.

The idiot removed the hands but scratched the other[/] hands and dial markers to oblivion, I had to source new set of hands, and maybe a gen dial (bwahaha, an excuse to swap dials :p :p )

I feel kind of cheated.. kid you not.. I wanted to refinish one hand, now I had to refinish all of em

Send your stuff to The Zigmeister for adjustment, as he is one of the few artisans watchmakers left.
