  1. Hello folks! Thought it might be interesting. This is taken in 1963 in Kremlin, Moscow. Fidel Castro is meeting Nikita Khrushchev. Fidel is wearing Rolex...two of them, on the same wrist!
  2. Happy Birthday neversummer!

  3. Hello folks! Here is the problem. My mother have recently had a 60th anniversary and guess what did I giver her as a present? Right you are, a watch! Its a nice second hand 26 mm Lady No date 67180 on 78340 bracelet. No papers, but bought from a respectable Rolex dealer in Sweden who opened a caseback and demonstrated me the movt. However it never occured to me to check the size of the bracelet since my mother have small wrists. On the anniversary day the freaking watch was too small! She could close the clasp but it sits too damn tight. Does anyone happens to know where to source 1 link of 78340? Gen or rep? Would a rep link fit? Or is it stupid to "spoil" the gen with a rep link? I am in pain guys, please help! Below are some pics of the timepiece. /neversummer
  4. Congrats on a great watch! I have BKs Sub C as a daily beater. Theres only one inaccuracy in ceramic Subs and it is maxi hands, esp the hour hand that have to be more "pointy". Other than that its a gorgeous timepiece. Wear it in good health!
  5. How did it turn out? Josh is great and I am sure is going to solve the problem in the best possible way. Show us some pics when you receive your timepiece!
  6. Hello fellow watchlovers Here is a BKs SubC with modded datewheel that I bought a couple of months ago. No need to mention the excellent service of BK, his name has already became well-known brand in our society. There are two "giveaways" that bug me a lot, at least according to the pictures as below (Gen is on the left, quite obviously) 1. The hands. My God they are ugly on a rep. Look at the tip of the hour hand. Note also the difference in the minute and second hands. 2. CGs - need shaving, at least 3 mm has to go. An easy fix. 3. The bezel insert looks ok to me, even though numbers seem to be bolder on a Gen. 4. There is a strange rim around cyclope on a Gen. Might be an artefact though. Does anybody know if its possible to source a decent set of hands that would fit this watch, if yes where? Thanks for looking! /NS
  7. No fear for magnetic fields!
  8. Stunning watch! Wear it in good health and tnanks för sharing! Enjoyed looking very much!
  9. it looks awesome! The green tint is a beauty under any illumination and the dial changes colour from green to black depending on the light. Go for it, mate. YOu are going to be surprised how well this rep is made. I am hunting a gen right now and soon will be writing a comparative review. I am sure though that apart from very tiny differences in hour markers there aint much to compare.
  10. No, no issues at all. I had a clasp with not very well centered crown symbol and Josh provided a new bracelet free of charge. Both old and new clasp work flawlessly. I lubed the bracelet with a teflon bicycle chain lube and it feels very soft now. What kind of clasp problems do you experience?
  11. Congratulations on a nice Milgauss! I just love mine (also with ETA heart) and actually going to buy a gen very soon. The rotor sounds healthy in mine and does not distract me though I never directly compared to gen. best NS.
  12. Hello there! Mine is from Josh - an outstanding rep that makes me happy every time I look at the dial. Sitting om my wrist ever since I bought it and I go swimming with it no problem. There was a little issue with a crown sitting not centered on the clasp, so I contacted Josh and wanted to change the clasp. Josh immediately sent me a whole new 72400 bracelet (!). I would definiely recommend Josh as a dealer, otherwise I recon most of the reps coming from the same factory. Here comes a little eyecandy
  13. Thanks Ronin! I will do my best but then again ther is a risk/chance that they will follow fathers fotsteps and start admiring reps as well The latter scenario is quite appealing actually, isn¨t it? When you kids are old enough, make sure they know what is rep and what is gen. It could save embarrassment if they needed to sell any of it.
  14. Hello gents! I have already tried hanging this questin out, but that was at the end of my own thread on completely different matter. The question still remains and is bugging me all the time. See I was no repgeek for just a couple of months ago, happy with my classy swatches and dreaming of a Milgauss. Then my grandfathers watch brought me here and a whole new world suddenly oppened and soon enough I started to realize that the replicamaking is real art and people building frankens are real artists. However its only us a bunch of enthusiasts who percept the repbusiness this way. In the eyes of a vast majority out there your rep watch still represents Canal Street and is just a cheap copy whatever mega franken you wear. But I am here to stay and now I own a beautiful 116400GV (thank you josh!) and very nice BK edition of 116610LN (thank you BK!). Realizing that I am i deep trouble with this new hobby and having a son who is only 3 but growing I am starting to ask a question of whether it is appropriate to let my son inherit my rep watch? I am definitely going to purchase a gen Milgauss and gen Submariner but I am afraid I am going to have many more replications of beautiful timepieces and I wont be able to "gen them all". Does a watch posses a value just because its you fathers watch even though its a rep with Canal Street strings attached...? I do not know if I succeded making this post clear, its rather hard putting into words this kind of thoughts in English for a non native speaker and I have noone to ask except you guys. What do you think? Am I just being silly?
