  1. That link you pm'd me went to a site that doesn't carry or have access to either a MBW or MBK Sub. All they had is the exact same pictures and description as every other dealer has. I emailed them and they confirmed not having either.
  2. After receiving my first rep Submariner, my initial enthusiasm was short lived. What looked so great on the outside on closer inspection revealed a host of flaws that I can't live with. I'm in contact with the dealer right now as to how to make things right. That said, where can I get an accurate, reliable, and most of all wearable tt Sub from? I know BK's WM9 is the top dog, but that's not produced anymore, so that's out. Noob's tt is gone to? Anybody have a lead on one from personal experience? All the websites have a tt Sub, but pretty pictures can lie like hell, as I just found out. By the way, the dealer I got this through is on the RWI forums as a reputable dealer. He's been great so far, I just got a lemon watch and wanted options to find a good one.
  3. This would solve everything... http://cgi.ebay.com/Rolex-Explorer-2-II-SS-Date-White-16570-Stainless-NR-/330499737412?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item4cf351c744
  4. What I was trying to do was put a gen dial in a rep case. The hands I bought were really cheap, two sets for about $40. The gen dial and hands on the other the hand, were not. So I need an old Noob factory Exp2 for this to work? That's a good thing to know. Finding one may be a trick, but I'm sure somebody has one. So the incorrect hand stack is the only way to go? Not what the dealers say, but that's no surprise. Thanks for the help guys. I've been researching this for a while now, but there's so much to know, it's crazy. All part of being new I guess.
  5. Would one of your 2893's be of any benefit to this project? All this hand stack mumbo jumbo is making my noob brain hurt! All the dealers off the Explorer2 with only a modded 2836 to get the chs. They say it's reliable, but some people say is problematic. If a 2893 will fit in an Exp 2, that would help things out, yes? At this point I'm so deep into this project with all the hands and dial money spent I may as well finish it to learn something. What's another $150? Always the hard way....
  6. The watch I'm looking at using has the Rolex correct hand stack, and uses a modified 2836. I've seen the 2836 have both the ichs and the chs.
  7. Here's the Black 2836 hands I bought for the Explorer project I have going. The silver hands I didn't buy but are for comparison. The silver ones are Rolex GMT aftermarket hands from Clark on ebay. From what I see the holes in the hour, minute, and second hand are pretty close, but the Rolex GMT hand has a smaller hole than the black 2836 GMT hand. The Gen dial I bought comes with a set of hands, when it arrives I'm going to size them with my calipers to see how close they are to fitting compared to the black aftermarket set for the 2836. The hole on the gen GMT hand can be opened up to fit the 2836 movement I think. This may sound stupid, but can you mod gen hands to fit? I really would like to use the gen hands on the 2836. That way the lume matches up nice and bright. Opinions? Advice? Buehler?
  8. Plenty of guys like that on eBay. I found Clark's ebay shop. A point of interest is the 3 hands for a gen look virtually the same at the mounting hole, but the fourth gen GMT hand has a smaller hole than the ETA hand. (I'm on my iPad or I'd post a picture, will later) While I'll have to get the calipers out to measure the mounting hole on the gen and rep hands, the GMT gen hand could be enlarged to fit an ETA movement. I really want to use the gen hands with my gen dial if possible. I get to wait for the stuff to arrive now....Crap! Sure is a lot of stuff to go through to put a gen dial and hands on a rep. It'll be worth it in the end.
  9. I hope so to. So how do I find Clarks? I searched both users and stores on ebay, and got nothing. If I don't get exactly the hands in the picture, eBay is going to hear about it.
  10. I've been researching the Rolex GMT / Explorer reps, and see there's issues with the modified 2836 movements. A 2893 is supposed to be better. But all the retailers offer nothing but modified 2836 movements in their watches. Did these this get updated and fixed or what? Hand stack to me isn't as important as a long lasting, reliable watch. Opinions, advice? By the way I used the search feature before I posted.
  11. Here's the hands I bought from the guy you mentioned off ebay. I can't guarentee it, but I'll bet they need to be re-lumed to match the gen dial I have coming. One of these days I'll do things the easy way.....
  12. The gen dial and hands were $500. I figure to get this right I'm at about a grand or so. But it will be almost indistinguishable from a gen.
  13. The gen dial cost more than either watch. I've heard the ichs had troubles, but nothing specific. The more I look at the pro888 watch the more I like it now. Hmmm.... They are both 40mm watches and the dial is for 40mm. I've seen a rep with a gen dial before. My real issue I think will be the hands. I have a set that fits coming, but they are aftermarket, and I'm thinking the lume won't be as strong as the gen dial. I may need to get them re-lumed.
  14. What's CHS or ICHS? Trevor has been good to deal with so far. Here's his watch, and one other I was looking at. Any advice or opinions here would be great! Trevors http://www.trevortime.info/product_info.php?cPath=21_24&products_id=3790 The other one http://www.prowatch888.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_56_67&products_id=964
  15. I need to find a set of 4 black gen hands (GMT style) to fit the Tudor, or an ETA (2893 or 2836) movement. Any idea where to look? Ebay just has silver ones. Do the 2893 and 2836 take the same hands? Thanks for any advice or leads Dave
  16. Any idea where I can get a set of 4 black hands to fit the Tudor? All I've found is the silver ones. Do the 2893 and 2836 ETA movements take the same hands? This is getting complicated....
  17. I'm going to get it from Trevor. It's pretty nice and the the hand stack is right.
  18. Anybody know if these will fit? I'm planning a dial/hands swap on an Explorer 2. Thanks -Dave
  19. I'm going to convert from the silver markers and hands on the white face rep dial to a gen white face dial with black markers and black hands. Being it's a gen dial, the lume on the rep hands is going to be a problem, since it's no where near as bright.
  20. PM'd you a link (since I don't have five posts yet) to one that has a solid wrap end link. A WM9 or Noob would be good, but they are pretty hard to find, especially the WM9.
  21. Anybody know if these will fit? I'm planning a dial/hands swap on an Explorer 2. Thanks -Dave
