  1. I am logged in by the web interface but tapatalk won't let me login. But in other news my fridge light works like a champ. :tu:
  2. I have 3 genuine tropical Rolex from 1974, 1963 and 1958. No way is that first picture "natural" tropical discoloration. There are always uneven tones of brown across the dial, exactly like MOAB's picture. Always.
  3. What you REALLY need is a XXLDRTRLWWW !!
  4. I feel for ya man. This happened to me once and it wasn't pretty! I still wake up screaming. https://rwg.cc/topic/57992-crisis-panic-emergency/
  5. All Hail the Carzy-Mex!!! A thing of beauty!
  6. Welcome back dbane!! Don't be such a stranger, eh?
  7. Same here, my eldest is launching into a doctorate with groups lining up to hire him, and my other is climbing the corporate ranks like a Roman candle on steroids. All I can do is stand back, try to stay out of the way and marvel.
  8. Thanks Tag, but unlike@sogeha I'm getting YOUNGER every year!
  9. Let me be the first to say............. To my good friend @SOGEHA !!!!! Happy days!
  10. I think@nikki6 will like this one... a little Jimmy Page on acoustic.
  11. Use a single-edge razor blade like people put in box cutters. Tap it in there, remove, go around the case 1/3 of the way, do it again. Keep working your way around until it lifts a little.
  12. Oh, um, *cough* those were, um, *cough* User Convenience tokens of appreciation. And boy did I appreciate them!
  13. That was a GREAT explanation, MMM. Thanks for that.
  14. Wow what great results, two of the rarest and most iconic vintage pieces, and they came out spectacularly well. Those are watches to be proud of! I was paging around this morning and this picture caught my eye... it just feels like a genuine piece sitting there. That's the hard part to achieve. Well done!
  15. Where else are you going to find a watch forum where we freely give away details like that? That's what I love about this place.
  16. Well dammit there you go, making sense again!
  17. Because this: "Built not Bought" I have more $$$ tied up in this than in a new Jeep Rubicon, and it's slower and less capable off-road. But it has MY fingerprints and blood all over it.
  18. Quick! Someone write a differential equation! We need to compare area vs force for crystals on rehauts vs the itty bitty pin in its hole!
  19. My MBWs and my Phongs do that too. It's easy to separate the parts once you have them off the case. Go ahead and warp the spring, but be EXTRA careful that it stays concentric with the rehaut neck as you press the bezel on. My Phongflake is notorious for this... I can get the bezel on with the spring captured funny in there, and it's impossible to turn. Remove and repeat, and when it clicks on right, it's suddenly very obvious that it's right... it's proud of the case a smidgen, and doesn't want to move much, but when I push it down it turns smoothly.
  20. While it's cool to have a real genuine functioning HE valve, it's also another potential spot for leakage and corrosion. My "Paul" Abay watch fogged up every time I went for a mtn bike ride until I took that pin out and filled the hole with silicone rubber before pushing the pin back in.
  21. I remember the good old days (?!) when you asked a dealer for a watch and he sent whatever he had sitting there, screw the "factory". But recently when I bought my 50th Anniversary sea dweller the differences between the factory offerings were significant. And priced accordingly. I wonder if this was the genesis of the A and AA and AAA+ ratings we used to get?
  22. Party pooper! Who was it on the last incarnation of RWG... his answer: Q: is that a real Rolex? A: dunno, I took it off a dead guy.
  23. Yummmmm *drool* an oval link Jubilee is a thing of beauty.
