  1. My new Pre-A 009 PVD Base from Davidsen with stock strap. Absolutely amazing in person, but very difficult to dust and photograph. I will try to do better next time when I re-shoot it with some new straps... David's service was excellent and the watch is stunning. If you don't already have one of David's historic pieces, do yourself a favor and get one. It will almost make you feel like you own a little piece of history...
  2. The new case is most definitely thicker than the gen. The older case is more like the gen case. But the rehaut is more accurate on the new case and the weight seems better as there is more steel obviously. The Cg's look better on the new case too. They are more rounded into the case than last years model. I have both the old a new case models and like any Rolex rep, they each have good and bad points.
  3. Very true Ken. The only differences are the movement of course is not Lemania based it is a Venus 175. Looks great though. Only AD's and collectors would know the difference. The dial is nearly 1:1 as is the buckle. The case and chrono sub dials are slightly smaller than the gen, but really close. A VERY accurate rep visually - especially on the wrist. Rob
  4. Another nice rep from Josh. A great guy and a great dealer. IMHO this watch is THE quintessential dress chronograph of all time. Even though not completely accurate, it is tough to justify spending 33K for the gen in white gold when a rep this good is available. All suited up up with a shiny dress Banda alligator strap and box set...
  5. True that the numbers are too thick. The hands are harder to spot. The watch is going to be much lighter anyway as the gen is platinum regardless of the movemnet. The decorated movement is a surprisingly good rep visually. All in all I think at $127USD it is still probably the best Asian rep around right now for the $ along with the Noobmariner... The movement on yours is interesting. I haven't seen that one before. Of course it looks nothing like the gen but is very nice just the same... Regards, R
  6. I just bought a gen 7750 for $208USD which is a direct drop in for The Zigmeister. That way I have only spent slightly more than the service cost for the Asian 7750 with no oil...The ETA's are fine out of the box for 4-5 years. You may want to consider doing that too. If the datewheels don't swap (The Zigmeister and I are hoping they do) those can be sourced at Jules Borel for around $14USD each for Day and Date. The font is the same. Food for thought if you intend to keep the watch a lifetime - I'm sure you will want to when you get it. Ask Pug if you don't take my word for it...he is Rob

  10. New from Josh. Great guy and a great dealer. Got it in 5 days to Florida. All dressed up in a blue Sirtoli genuine ostrich strap and a Hadley dress style depolyant buckle.
  11. As for the crystal - I didn't know I had a choice. Whatever I got it seems fine. I paid $127USD for the watch if that helps.
  12. Thanks Pug. There were two photos that didn't make the first post. Here they are:
  13. It was here in 5 days. He sends the boxes seperately via air mail so that will be slower. I think mine took around two weeks. Great watch. Real positive feel to the winding mechanism and it ticks really loud like a pocket watch movement should. You will be really happy with it. It passed the AD test with flying colors. The only minor issue is the dial font is a little too bold. Almost everything else is spot on. Super hogh quality fit and finish as you can see in the pics. Along with the Noobmariner probably the highest quality Asian rep out there right now. Rob
  14. Oops. I made a posting error. Here are the rest of the pics:

New from Joshua. Great watch and a great guy. It will be getting a gen dial and an ETA 7750 soon. Pugwash has corrupted me...
  16. New from Andrew. I also have the latest 06 model with the improved case and dial. Very similar but better. I will post those soon. Great watch from a great dealer Tons more photos here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=14378
  17. New from Andrew. Beautiful piece from a great dealer IMG]http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q255/RobbieGWatches/FA%20Jones/FA27.jpg IMG]http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q255/RobbieGWatches/FA%20Jones/FA25.jpg
  18. Thanks guys. I'm also noticing that AR isn't around on the 183 but is on the 111. Maybe I will go in that direstion. Any things I should know about there? I assume there is a G and H series here as well. From what I can tell in all models the G series has the hundreds of logos across the bridges and the H series are decorated cotes de geneve'? I'm sure PT or Eddie will have the good stuff...
  19. Thanks, but what about the movement issue? The Zigmeister was saying something about a batch of these movements from some new watches that had swan neck problems and were not actually ETA's, etc... Was that on the H series or does anyone else have these watches and any info on this?
  20. Hi guys, I'm afraid I might have been bitten by the Pam bug - as if Rolex and Brietling and Vacheron and IWC and Omega isn't enough...God help me now...In the words of a very funny friend of mine: "I need this like a second ass..." Anyway, I have narrowed down my first PAM purchase to a 183. My question is that I need some solid intelligence on the G vs. H series and the gens they represent. Obviously, the movements are decorated differently. It seems the the H is the latest decoration version from gen PAM's? Any thoughts on why you would want one or the other? Also, I remember The Zigmeister talking about a problem with some versions of the 6497 movements. Obviously the swan neck is the way to go, but is the G or H series the problematic one - or do I have it all wrong? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Feel free to PM also if you like. Rob
