  1. Never heard of them, but they are sold by SwissT Gallery, which sells some very expensive high end watch winders.
  2. Here is the deal for me, if someone has been here two years, but doesn't have much to say, it would be very easy to get their post count to 30. Or you could vaive the post count rule if someone has say 10 posts and one year. i don't want to discourage folks who may have some interest, but aren't really very active participants, but on the other hand if a guy came on here 2 years ago made one or two posts and was only interested in buying a watch, never came back, and then suddenly appeared to buy another watch, I don't see any reason why he can't post a few comments to get his post count up.
  3. I agree, buy a timeless piece and it will be "hot for a long, long time. buy a fad "hot" and it's next years "not"!!
  4. Where did you get that one, looks prety nice.
  5. Thanks pete,I'm not familiar with Proj. Could you tell me who he is? thanks
  6. Obviously there is a huge problem with mail theft in Italy. Read the shipping restrictions of guys who sell lots of watches on WUS, TZ, VRF and Ebay. most will either not ship to Italy or they will only ship FedEx. I hate to say it, but i'mafraid the watch will probably not surface. Whomever sold it will take it to a watch dealer (fence) who doesn't have any qualms about taking in a "hot" watch. Imagine the surprise when the thief finds out that the watch is a rep. I hope the buyer has a sense of humor, if he doesn't the thief might well end up with his throat slit (which would be doing a great service to mankind) or a couple of broken kneecaps, just as a lesson to others that they better not try to pass fake stuff off as real!!
  7. MD, I really hope that you pursue the luming, I try to get every one of mine relumed with vintage lume and it's always been a hassle to ship to Canada, scares me every time I put a watch in a box and send it out the country. Much less stressful to ship within the CONUS.
  8. I not sure that they are the same, but the point is, they are crappy photos. if it's selling as a genuine, that's and expensive watch. you need crystal clear photos, not this blurry crap. Also I would like to see the the paperwork and a photo of the movement, but better yet, if he is local, ask him to meet you with the watch at a Rolex AD. Tell him, if the Rolex watchmaker can take the caseback off, and authenticate the watch as genuine, you will buy it on the spot, plus pay for thewatchmaker to examine it. If he says "Sure, no problem, I'll meet you at XYZ Jewelers tomorrow at 3 PM, probably a pretty good chance that it's OK. If he hems and haws around, makes excuses and doesn't sound willing to have the watch examined, thank him and walk away.
  9. Like Freddy said, before you send the money, make sure as to what is included in the deal. How much did ming want for the case alone? May be better off getting an ingod dial (When available) or the NDT.
  10. I have to agree with mike. They can get 10 posts in 10 minutes with a few "GLWS's and nice watch",etc. 30 posts and 30 days is not too much to ask of a new member. If they are really interested, they will comply, otherwise better for everyone if they see the rules and decide to move on.
  11. that's fine, but I would step up a step or two, this one just has too many "tells". When you put a quartz movement in a mechanical watch, anybody can recognize it's a quartz, jumping second hand vs smooth sweep second hand. If you get a quartz, make sure it's a rep of a real quartz, not a mechanical.
  12. Hi J Any chances of getting a PanAm "meatball" engraved on my PanAm 6542 caseback? I know you are not doing any orders now, but I'm in no hurry. Thanks
  13. Guys, I've got a genuine Ocean7 LM-7 Which is a homage to the Omega Ploprof. This is the latest model that came out last year, it's titanium which makes it a great watch, even for it's size. the only problem is the watch is only available with a silicone rubber strap. I started a similar discussion when the watch was first announced mid year last year, over on the WUS Ocean7 Forum, asking if anyone had any ideas as to where you could find a titanium mesh bracelet. Didn't have any luck, no one had any idea as to where one could be found if any even existed. I also have the original model LM-7 in SS. I have this watch on a Jurgens mesh, which is super comfortable. the watch lugs are 22mm. Any ideas as to whether or not one like this mesh exists, and second if none exist, how would a bead blasted band look on a titanium watch like this. Here are a couple of photos, first the Titanium model, and then the SS on the mesh Thanks
  14. Darn man, that looks great!! Wish the 1680 cases had come to fruition.
  15. A, Ziggy is the best in this hemisphere. unfortunately, he's not taking any new customers, but If you have used him before I'm sure he could do your dial.
  16. Same old 1665 DRSD. Wish I was back at the beach!! Been raining solid non-stop for two days here.
  17. NO!! Lots of things wrong, first the Co axial Chronometer is a mechanical movement not quartz, second, the date window is way to small and third it's way too left justified. the genuine Date window is almost touching the III ,Also the X's are too narrow, the genuine look like real X's not a squished up X. I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. You are buying these cheap "Chinatown" reps that anyone can see are not correct. Then you come on here and ask if they are OK. Why don't you look for yourself. I don't know a darn thing about his watch, but I googled Omega Deville Coaxial Chronometer, went down the first page about one third and clicked on images orf Omega Deville Coaxial Chronometer. Walla! About 200 photos of the watch in it's various forms. If you are serious, why don't you buy one nice one as bamcky2k suggested. Check out the sales forum or you can find nice low priced Seiko invicta or Citizen, or probably 50 more brands of watches that are all about a 1000X better than that cheap junk you are buying. All have some sort of warranty, most are water resistant and have decent lume. It looks like your user name pretty much sums it up, you are looking for cheap reps of expensive watches so that you can pretend that you have the real thing. unfortunately, these are so bad, most non-WIS Omega owners wiill recognize this one as a fake. And that's what I call these, fakes, they aren't nearly good enough to be called replicas
  18. Great info, I'm sure pretty much every WIS will admit that a quartz is a better time keeper than a mechanical. Most however will never give up their mechanicals for a quartz no matter how accurate. I said in another thread, one of the reasons for quartz watches popularity is the average watch wearer does not want to be bothered with having to reset time, dates, etc, every time he leaves his watch sitting on the dresser for a few days. My wife is a case in point. She loves her quartz watches, she tolerates her mechanicals. She has a gen Rolex lady DJ SS/18k with a diamond bezel and MOP dial. It sits in her safe and seldom gets worn. She would rather wear a Maurice Lacroix quartz or her new favorite her Tag midsize Aquaracer, also quartz. She, like most non-WIS just aren't into watches, they want a "Grab and go" watch that only requires resettng at the end of a month that doesn't have 31 days!!
  19. It's sad to say that today, the honest person is at the mercy of all the thieves out there, not just the ones who are wearing a mask and holding a gun!! The corporations are just as guilty, just like the postal service. Can't prove, bla, bla, bla. Why would one insure and empty box for 1000Euros? they accepted your money for the insurance, it would seem that it's incumbent on them to make sure a package gets delivered safely, or either pay the seller for his lost goods. I really don't know what the answer is, i suppose you could take the watch to the post office unwrapped, photograph the postal person putting the watch in the box, packaging and sealing taped, but even with all that I don't know if they would pay if it was stolen or lost. What do the jewelers amd diamond merchants around the globe use to ship? Most of the genuine watchmakers that deliver watches from Switzerland to the USA use FedEx, I don't know if that is a viable choice with replicas.
  20. were you planning to use the ingod44 6542 dial or his 1675 dial?
  21. I'm not too up to speed on the modern Rolexes and Rolex cases, but I found this thread on the WUS Rolex forum. here is the link. Now bear in mind, this is for genuine. The TC cases may very well be the same size for date and non date. Are your dials the same size (Diameter?) Are they genuine dials? http://forums.watchuseek.com/f23/difference-between-subamriner-14060-116610-a-509946.html
  22. Send them over to me and let her try them out. NO,NO.NO don't just joking, I know you, and you and her will have me between a rock and a hard spot in a second.
  23. Check the sales forum Tools and Parts. someone had two for sale a few days ago.
