  1. A 127 (Fiddy) matches most of your criteria but I don't think anything matches up exactly. You might also look for an old school Marina Militare.
  2. I have more (and of course with any OCD hobby, more are in the mail) but these are my current favorites to date. There is a gen in here, feel free to try to guess which one. The watches from left to right: 127, 112, 292, 202. The mounted straps from left to right: HKTAN Cracked Black 26/26, Ray Karma Calf 24/24, Bob Vintage 26/24, Gunny Verdi 24/24 Unmounted straps from left to right: Savage Vintage Brown Pullup 24/24, HKTAN Cracked Black, 24/24, Unknown 24/24, Savage Black/Antique stitch 26/26, Lederarts Swiss Ammo 24/24, OfficialTime Light Tan Bull 26/26, Unknown Vintage with Light Green stitch 26/26, Puretime Black Rep 24/24.
  3. They're all pretty bad right now. You can buy a few different ones and assemble a pretty decent rep with various parts from each and do a couple mods but that's expensive and a lot of work for only a decent result. Consider the PVD rads, the dials seem more gen-like, and with the closed casebacks and coated finish, these can look very accurate.
  4. I own a gen 112H, and this looks pretty damn good from the front. From the back, the movement gives it away badly. Same issue with all display caseback reps though. If they'd just do the movement engraving better and use the right regulator design these would be virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.
  5. Not to hijack but where can I get regular brushed fiddy CG's?
  6. ^^^ Typical 127 above. Still has blue AR coating, rounded CG pin, CG lever sticks out, Asian movement, inaccurate requlator, etc. Looking forward to a new version soon.
  7. You can compare any two things. I think it does come pretty close with the right mods and a good movement. A testament to this is the fact that I own a gen 112 and the 127 rep gets a lot more wrist time. I don't think anyone realistically believes a $300 rep is going to be exactly like the real thing and if they do, that's their problem - not mine. I think the Fiddy reps deserve some love!
  8. Thanks. This one on there now is actually a temporary strap until my Wotancraft one arrives...
  9. Thought you folks might want to see what an 026 looks like on a swiss ammo strap...
  10. How so? Are you talking about the different swan neck regulator? There has been some confusion over whether or not this movement is actually swiss, asian, or some combination. The person who originally bought it paid around $380 for it and supposedly purchased this version but this movement doesn't look like that one either (mine has flared spokes on the balance wheel, a different regulator, etc) so I'm not quite sure what to call this one *but* it does seem closer in appearance to the original link.
  11. Thanks for the kind words everyone. This particular 127 was originally purchased by a member over at RG less than a 60 days ago from Andrew at Trustytime. He wore it once and felt it was just too big for his wrist so he put it up for sale. I purchased it, and when I received it, it still had the clear stickers on it and was essentially brand new. You can purchase one just like it at this link. As for the mods, they've all been done by me personally. I stripped off the AR coating, tightened up the CG lever pin, flattened the pin to the CG, re-shaped the CG lever, and re-brushed/polished the entire case (still needs one more session). I also cleaned, adjusted and oiled the movement as it was bone dry and kinda dirty straight from the rep factory. The minute hand was also not attached well and needed to be re-pressed. I've handled a gen 127. In comparison, I'll take this rep all day long for the money - it runs really nicely, winds beautifully, even the CG lever snaps into place just like the real thing. $25,000 vs $200 and some elbow grease? Yeah, no contest.
  12. Here's some recent shots of my much loved 127 that you might enjoy...
  13. Yeah, I hate the way that site is laid out. Probably does it to obscure the watches from Goole search results but it's a fail in my book.
  14. Pretty much all the aftermarket PAM strap vendors in one place... http://www.network54.com/Forum/674579/
  15. Would it help you more if I called this a solution instead of a tip? Sometimes the rep makers just don't press the hand on all the way and it falls off. What do you want to hear? You gotta admit that the price is right on this type of advice, is it not?
  16. Not a bad hack since heat expands the metal. Question is, how did he get it back in?
  17. In your case please leave it off and floating around inside the case.
  18. Hike, convert the URL over at tinyurl.com and then post it here.
  19. For me it's the Morgan Aero Supersport:
  20. Dropbox offers up to 2GB free storage. Just sayin'.
