  1. Stick with our dealers, I've wasted dozens and dozens of hours looking at hundreds and hundreds of "AAAAA", the best, etc reps...and they're 99% garbage. You're better bet is to contact Angus, and take his ass out for dim sum lunch, or a Starbucks Frap which he seems to like...I've done the shopping in HK, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Beijing...and we pretty much get the cream of the crop from our dealers here.

My girlfriend has made me promise not to waste ANY more vacation time looking at reps...but she will let me poke around the many ADs in Hong Kong :)

  2. Great pics and awesome watch...and AMAZING price! ^_^

I picked up my 111j earlier in the year for $1000 more  . I think there are going to be great values for gens in the secondary market as the world economies continue to slide which will present some good buying opportunities...but this deal from an AD is an amazing one :victory:

  3. I agree, having a high end camera but not knowing how to properly use it is...a waste. I take better photos with my point and click than with my Canon 40D...and even though the girlfriend does take good photos with her nifty Nikon D300, she actually had more consistent photos with her Nikon D30 at 25% of the cost. Go figure...

I think taking photos is an art that you just need to take the time to master...I see so many GREAT photos from our members that I enjoy thoroughly.

  4. Wow... :o

Thanks Rob, you and Jen just made my day! ^_^

Your craftsmanship and the help of many valued members makes for my best rep watch to date...very excited to get it back home ^_^

    1) Dani, my partner in crime, for letting me know about the last batch of swiss 28s that came on the market for a blink of an eye...which I was lucky enough to grab. Hoping to see yours on your wrist too. :drinks:

    2) Kruzer for getting us lucky members OEM original PAM crowns.

    3) Ssurfer for the most accurate cyclops for a PAM 28. :yeah:

    4) Lello for his DWs...sometimes they work, sometimes they don't...but when they do... :yeah:

    5) Theo for hooking up the amazing PVD...I was sold when I saw yours Theo and I'm glad we were able to do the 27 and 28 swap a year ago. :whistling::good:

    6) Rob for his usual magic, which is magical...I'm always amazed by your craftsmanship.:1a:

    7) Patience...something my dad taught me over the years that has finally sunk in...always strive for the best otherwise you'll never be happy. :victory:

    8) RWG for being...RWG...the best community of watch enthusiasts around and having valued members who have each other's backs.

I'll post side by side pics of my PAM 27 and PAM 28 when I get them back...the good and bad twin brothers...but I can't wait to have the darkside on my wrist!

  5. Bring the gen Rollie, I always bring 2 watches with me on my trips. Having the confidence going into all the watch dealers is a good thing. I went 11 times last year, but have only made 1 trip so far...reading this thread makes me want to book a flight.

  6. Macau's not good for reps, the most decent would be in Shenzhen @ Lowu back in China. I still feel it's a waste of time because what they consider 5 Star is not up to what we get from our great dealers like Angus, and you will waste many hours looking at hundreds and hundreds of inferior reps.

Whenever I make a trip to Hong Kong, I always take a break in Macau for a day or 2...even though it's nothing like vegas, it's a break from the chaos of HK. The play BJ kinda funny out there, they love to surrender hands left and right. Kinda screws you up if you're playing perfect blackjack because they don't know how to play BJ strategy correctly.

Last time I stayed at the Venetian and the rooms were as large as the ones in Vegas, which will be a huge relief for you after paying $$$$ for small rooms in HK. Wynns was okay, kinda small, and the Lisboa should be hit just for entertainment value.

There is a very good AD in the Venetian...I tried on several Big Bangs when I was there earlier in the year.

Enjoy, and enjoy some of the cuisine in Macau, we went to several great restaurants.

P.S. If you find yourself in HK on Sunday, definitely go to the Intercontinental for Sunday brunch...you'll be happy you did.

  7. That is a GREAT price, I would jump all over that. The pricing for an IWC Big Pilot for $9700 is a steal also from an AD, BP in California is running $13,000. Where are you located, these prices are amazing for AD offerings.

  8. The lovers make all this worth while, if it was about the money I'd do a little hero.....the haters ....well as Usher would say "just gotta pop your collar" and keep on walking

    FGD

:victory: Awesome Project, even though I won't be doing a project and I will be sending these lovely dials to a fellow member waiting in the wings, FGD deserves a HUGE HIGH 5, I can't wait to see everyone's completed projects. And Simon, you're right, there will always be haters, but pop your collar and brush your shoulders off...we all appreciate what your amazing efforts and results. :victory:

  9. Wow, I bought my TT Blue face sub back in the day for $4800...the price increase also with Panerai just keep going up and up...2 price increases a year...I remember friends getting into Panerai back in the day for $2500 for 111s not too long ago.

  10. LR is right, this is one of the best reps straight out of the box. I have the black dial Gen Skyland, so I picked up the Grey which I gave to a friend of mine who was having a tough time...then immediately ordered another grey from Angus. I loved my BCE swiss 770 w/lello DW, but I gave that to a buddy of mine, still have my SFSO white relumed by The Zigmeister...but the Skyland is up there in terms of quality.

    dave

    :victory:

  11. Oh man...I'm missing my fully modded one right now after seeing yours Brian...

The only comfort I get is knowing that The Zigmeister is enjoying it :victory:

I bought 2 of these from EL back in the day, old case 7753s and one is with Rob and the other one is with a lucky member I sold it to years ago...but feel free to PM anytime you want to let yours go Chief :victory:

    P.S Beautiful pics!

  12. Eddie Lee with the kung fu grip...long gone, sorely missed, already a legend, I like to think he comes to lurk once in awhile ;) . I also like to think that he's enjoying life, drinking cold beers and enjoying lap dances somewhere in Canada as I type this. My best dealer ever, the originator of the super/ulitimate reps. :victory:
