  1. So I take it all the pics are obviously gen. How do they actually blacken the steel? I have been wanting one of these since they came out. Need a pick-up in the personal economy for that one though. :D

Yes, the watch in the pics is a gen - I had it for a few weeks and then traded it because the coating wore off on the edge of one of the lugs (probably from strap changing).

The Blacksteel is a DLC coated version of the standard Skyland with a different dial (obviously ;)). I also had this confirmed by Breitling.

    Cheers,

PS: I'd like to have those pics removed..... thanks :)

  2. OMG!

Just came across this thread... the good old times. It was fun, wasn't it? ;)

I miss the Clive and Demsey show.

    All noobs shall burn! :angry2:

  3. What a joke!

He just only need 10 seconds to spot the fake, to look at the low crown position unless someone put a gen movement into his fake. But which fool will do something like that?

And that's the first thing an AD do to spot , and consequently also some, no need to look further

I've read that from an AD member on a dutch gen forum.

Sure.... could it be that all of your knowledge comes from internet boards?

Of course there might be one or another salesperson that actually knows something about watches.... but most of them definitely don't.

Maybe you should try to get out a bit more......

  4. I don't get it.... why do you guys assume that somebody has knowledge about watches just because he's an AD? They sell watches to make a living, most of them know [censored]-all about what they sell.

The chance that an employee of an AD recognizes a fake as a fake is extremely low, unless it's one of those 10$ quartz beaters......

  5. Well.. they are certainly true in terms of a working moonphase dial. That doesn't mean the dial shows the correct moonphase. AFAIK those subdials are simply connected to the hour wheel and turn way too fast....

Please correct me if there are reps with correctly working moonphase subdials.

  6. The subject I remember best about the old RWG is the RWG Watch.... The LimitEd Edition "Collaboration 1". That was one of the issues that tore the place apart..

Remember TTKs comment about the money from the members had gone to new wheels for the webmasters Acura.

    Ah... good times ;)

It was fun over there, that's for sure...

  7. Like many "unknown" marques, it takes a bit of other more famous ones. I see shades of an Ingy, AP RO, Rolex Explorer in this particular model.

Well... they aren't as popular as Rolex, Breitling or IWC - just to name some. I wouldn't call them unknown though.

In fact they are quite an extraordinary brand, the idea of making the watches upgradeable by electronic gadgeds (instruments) makes them quite unique.
