The Chrono does not even need the hands corrected. The gen has shorter hands than the non-chrono. However, there is a minor flaw in the dial I realised (maybe this has been posted before): The two subdials have the wrong size. This can be seen by looking at the inner minute numbers they cut off. In the gen the 0 from the 05, the first 5 of the 55, the 5 from the 25 and the 3 from the 35 are almost completely cut off by the position of the subdials, this is not the case in the rep !! Here are pics of PT's , Edilee's reps and a pic of the gen for comparison. See what I mean ? So again, strictly speaking this s not what I call 1:1 ! And the caseback is wrong as well. The reps: The gen: Note that the hands lengths is OK !

Not at all ?? Well, then lets motivate our dealers to come up with an "ultimate" Ingy with - longer hands - good AR - correct date font and we are done and have the first REAL 1:1 rep, which in my definition means without opening the caseback noone can tell its fake, no matter how long its inspected even with a loupe. What you guys think am I right ?

So does anyone know when exactly this baby is coming ? Seems as if its very soon...

Wow ! So finally someone is repping the limited edition...I am happy One thing: Can someone tell them please to get the logo right this time ? The 4th generation 42mm PO had it correct !! And then they changed it again and its wrong on the 45mm ultimate. Since they have managed to get the correct symbol in the past please just tell the maker to use that old one !!! For the meantime, here are some pics to get our mouths wet.... Cheers, uziuzi

Very nice pics, well done ! Here are a few of the gen for comparison. I hope you dont mind but a friend of mine did some shots of his gen and they are actually similar shots as yours (even a 4 is on the datewheel) so it might be useful for direct comparison. Lets me know if you do not agree and feel I should deletem cause I am hijacking your post...

Is changing the datewheel for a new one something easily done by yourself ??

That idea is very good. As I do not own the Ingy yet either, I favor this idea....

Hi everyone, I am planning a two months trip through South America. Starting in Ecuador the rough plan is to work my way South to Argentina passing through Peru, Bolivia and Chile on the way (maybe doing a detour to Brazil as well). Its been a long dream of me to do this and I am really looking forward to it. Doing my planning I realised I need a watch as part of my travelling equipment and given that I have become a fan of this whole rep community (you guys are awesome ) I want to ask for your opinion which watch you guys think would be the optimal rep. watch for such as trip. To be honest, before I found out about this board I was about to get a gen Omega PO (sucking up a large part of my savings and i was even considering taking it with me on that trip (although I am not sure it would have been a good idea, bc of loosing it and there is a realistic chance I get robbed somewhere on the way). Here are a couple of requirements it should fulfill: - Very reliable movement (I will be mostly travelling alone and I have missed flights before so I need the accurate time) - Bracelet should be either steel or rubber or nato (I dont think a leather strap is appropriate as I am planning some dirty, sweaty hikes and possibly some jungle trips (guided tours !) ) - Should be something that I can wear at night if I should go out (though this is a minor requirement) - Good Lume (i might spend some nights in tents) Also, considering I will be passing through dfferent timezones, do you guys think a Gmt would be helpful and if yes how reliable are these movements ??? So what do you guys think is the best rep expedition watch for me and why. Please also point out certain features of the model you propose and point out why they would be very helpful for my trip (such as weight, bracelet, water resistance, optimal color to match the machu pichu, lume and so on... Pics are more than welcome !

Who Agrees With Me That We Need A Decent Pilot ?
uziuzi replied to wadan's topic in General Discussion
If a 1:1 rep of this baby was available, I'd change all my reps for it ! The problem is the movement right ? -
No! The "Black Magic" is like the "All Black" and the "Ice Bang" a so-called full ceramic model. It means the case as well as the bezel is ceramic.
-
Well done ! How did you guys move the "L Swiss Made L" down a tiny bit ? Or did you replace the dial ??
-
Thanks heaps for the review !!! This is very valuable !!! The description is in detail and the pics are very well made sometimes emphasizing the light reflection from the brushed parts, and sometimes showing the polished ones....i really love this review...or maybe i am biased cause i love that watch so much Can you explain your suggestion for swapping the movement to something more reliable ? Does it mean you can swap in a swiss 7750 (according to Angus its not possible) ? Sorry I am not very experienced with the mechanical part (i only know about their designs). Enjoy it !!

datewheel should be ok. its pretty low on the gens as well. I saw some side shots of gens where you can see parts of the next day. But i guess those who have the rep can judge better.

It's sad to see this whole BB project has turned into a little war while in fact we should be all happy to have another great rep. Concerning the prices: The dealers give us the price, we either accept or dont buy. Its just like a market. If competition will drive down the price, so be it. If not, then accept it. Guys, i hope you realise that we are buying reps here. So we ARE in position where we should not start negotiating. At least that is how i feel. Having followed most of the posts with respect to the development of the BB, I have no idea to what extent you other dealers have been active in giving feedback and helping develop the this perfect piece of rep, but it was a pleasure for us members to be involved in this project and the man who provided us with updates and worked hard for our corrections and suggestions to be implemented was Angus. So as i said, if you did also put in work, thanks a lot, your work is highly appreciated bc the outcome is a fine piece! But just from reading the forum the members are not able to see that you are working on this project. The only thing I know is that Angus has done an extremely outstanding job in trying to get thing really 1:1 (and please repsect that this has never been done before). One live example: The prototype we have seen had the wrong Hublot logo, but after some ambitious member has pointed out to him, it was changed! (see tha PO coming in the xth generation still with the wrong logo) I know that if the contact between dealer and us members would have been as close in the production of the ultimate PO as it was in the planning of the BB, there would be zero flaws in the PO today. To judge the quality of the current BB reps one has to know the exact product line of the BBs. The fact is, that this is a little bit different from most other projects bc Hublot has made relatively many different versions and so called limited editions of the same watch just swapping parts around. And this is good news for us! WHY? Bc those of us that put a big weight on the accuracy of the watch do not really have to be afraid being called out. YES, the original F1 istanbul has steel hands. BUT I have personally seen a RG model with steel bezel that had gold hands, so there is at least one out there (and presumably more than one). Secondly, the Hublot gen community is relatively accessible to everyone. So if you are a BB fan you could contact the CEO per mail and expect an answer. If additionally, you have some foot in the industry chances are high you could negotiate for a BB version of your preference (lets say you prefer silver hands on the regular RG version). And finally, if you ever meet anyone that is going to call you out bc he thinks that the particular version does not exist, he is either someone who only studied the catalogue and you can politely explain to him about all the limited eds that that are out there and tell him yours is one of them. Or its someone who knows about all special editions bc he has handed them all out personally (so you are likely be facing the CEO JC. B.) in which case you are in trouble anyway...haha So what i am trying to say here is that as long as the individual parts of the rep are sooo close (and they even seem to be identical since they are interchangable with the gen's) swapping some parts will not hurt its accuracy !!! The only concern is taste here, so if you prefer one model over another you should take that one, but accuracy does not matter! This rep has the ultimate potential to fool ANYONE, if you are smart and your ultimate goal IS to fool ppl. bc you can [censored] about some special request And yes, these special requests do exist. Trust me, I know what I am talking about. The same story holds concerning the datewheel. YES it does exist in white and black on the gen and might soon exist directly per request !!! So dont worry too much, enjoy your BB instead I hope this makes things a bit more clear and resolves some misconceptions ! Have a nice day (or: just my 2...), uziuzi

This was posted several times concerning the date: BOTH DATEWHEEL COLORS EXIST ! After originally having white datewheels, Hublot introduced a black one, but then switched back to the white as the costs of storing two different colors were too high (official argument of the Hublot CEO). But then some fans expressed that they like the black even more so now they contemplate introducing it again as some of the models like "all black" and "black magic" only come with a black date. Hublot is a bit chaotic with all its special limited editions and all that... Which makes it nice for us rep collectors as the identification of gens will be harder. The cross bar on the H is indeed a minor flaw but will be corrected according to Angus on later releases. Plus, the red second hand will cover this minor flaw (which will be hard to detect anyway) most of the time, unless your chrono is always running. Again, this is one of the highest class reps out there as you ca see even the case contruction is identical.

Breitlings ??? IT'S BIG BANG TIME !!!! (just kidding)

Thanks for the valuable info This is really helpful. It is strange that the pics on the websites are sometimes not updated, where it would be beneficial for the dealer to show an improved model. But do you see the spacing between the three words is still different on the gen ? It doesnt personally bother me at all. All these high res pics make us collectors forget about how invisible the tiny flaws are once you hold the piece in your hand. Yet sometimes they are indeed useful.

@gioarmani : Is this the one on your pics? In the pictures in the link below the dial looks not like yours. Yours is "crisper", where did you get it ? Now i am confused... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=8193

Wow ! Looks very good. Thanks a LOT for the pics. Can you tell me if it comes with an ETA ? Date mag cyclop looks also correctly placed. Although I just had a discussion about this with a good friend who owns the gen and the placement of date mag cyclop varies on the gens as well. Is the "m" bold ? It is not supposed to be. There is one thing that IMHO is still not perfect on any rep dial i have come across: the spacing between the three words "oyster perpetual date". Its strange that they cant get that right, is it ? I am more than happy to see more pics if you have time Here is a pic of the gen. Can you try to take a pic of yours from the same angle, same distance etc. ? That would be sooo cool !!

sorry dont wanna hijack, but... I am trying to compare Sub lv dials, and it seems as if PTs ultimate Lv has a different dial than the perfect one from Josh and Andrew ? Seems as if PTs is less "crisp". Can someone confirm that ??

then i apologize...
