  1. Hey guys, how do I get in touch with mymanmatt?
  2. There's a Panerai in my chendol and an Omega USO in my bak ku teh...... See peh chim, ah! Don't know about those rep vendors but one week for Davidsen from Hong Kong after you approve his custom build for you.
  3. Very fine photos of an equally fine timepiece+strap combo. Thanks for sharing, I've been a fan of the 359 for a while but its too close to another PAM replica model I already own so I haven't made the plunge yet. BTW - good ad for Angus!
  4. Magnifique! Incredibly fine piece of research. Thanks Angus!
  5. I have not studied Davidsen's rep's for 1:1 cloning accuracy. IMHO, it is more important to have great customer service, an accurate movement, pressure tested to 50 ATM, and a watch that will not fall apart after 6 months. If anything goes wrong, there are numerous testimonials online that he would repair the watch and turn it around to your satisfaction at minimal or no cost (depending on actual failure mode). These are all attributes of buying from Davidsen that I can vouch for. Also, he can customize your 'Francken creation' or 'tribute/homage' watch for you, i.e. if departing from a "need for a 1:1 gen" philosophy is acceptable to you. For example, I got him to build a homage for me that has genuine decorated Swiss ETA 6497 movement, with face and hands that I specified, and it came out beautifully. His lume out of the box is simply awesome - my sandwich dial implementation lasts a whole night long and is brighter than some gen's that I will not name. BTW, this is the article that introduced me to Davidsen: http://tinyurl.com/davidsen-marina-militare
  6. Welcome "legendkiller", v. nice to see a fellow "Dengue Dot" collector, and such an erudite one as well. I am relatively new on the forum but have already learnt a heckuvva lot from the bro's here. Just left S'pore on 9/9/11 after 3 weeks of "makan" (food) heaven. (Gotta behave on this forum and not break into Singlish, lah!). Thank goodness Singapore is SO much safer than Thailand, I have heard that women carrying expensive handbags have had their hands/arms slashed and handbags stolen by thieves riding bicycles in Pattaya. BTW, is the humidity in Singapore a factor to consider when storing your collection? How do you handle storage in high heat and humidity, esp. for the mechanical/automatic movements? Cheers and welcome again, hope to read more of your postings going forward!
  7. Where did you get this rep from? I've been wanting one and these photos are pushing me over the edge !
  8. Result is fabulous, brings one back in time to the notion of a hand crafted time piece.....except yours is living proof that if there's a will then there's a way! Very impressed ~ congrats!
