The gen main plate is expensive, which I recommend as it has the serial number. Total cost is about 5k eur plus labor

I used a brand new Zenith 400 and bought all the rolex parts in order to convert it so genuine hands fit. No need in my eyes to change bridges and reduce the beat rate!

I have a 5513 project with no caseback. Yuki has been out of stock of 5513 and 1680 backs for a while. eBay has been a bust. Can someone point me to where I can get a decent caseback?

There are no obvious way to do it. Perhaps use a vietnam 6541 case and a 1655 bezel.

Do you mean with the number on the top or bottom?
Because all the insert (cartel, yuki, cousin) that I try to make brown on gas flame (number on the top ) became reddish ..
 
 
 

Thats because you have them too close to the flame/ and or leave it to long. It is easy to verdo it. I did it with numbers down, but very briefly.
Its hard to control the process exactly so need plenty of spares

How do you make the brown?

- 10 seconds on top of a gas flame, turning around
- polish with ultra fine sand paper, followed by cape cod

And a chocolate brown insert. Much prefer that to the purple one...
