  1. Thanks Ephry!

Ok, I do have your watch, but it has a domed crystal. Hence, it seems that the seller never installed the phong crystal. I can't find now the original sales thread.

In any case, I installed the gen crystal on my other tudor. It was tricky sanding the bezel down (it took me almost an hour!) but now everything fits well.

The profile of the crystal is quite different than the stock DW, the height is lower

  2. yes, I figured that I need to shave the bezel

The reason why I thought that there existed a domed crystal is because I have bought another watch from the forum - a black dialed 7032 which If I remember correctly   was originally  built by Ephry73 -- that has a domed crystal that the seller claimed was gen. Perhaps it was a different model with the same id...

  3. So, originally this was going to be a sales thread. This build took a long time to complete (approximately 2 years). Part of it was Necky being slow, part of it that I was a noob and did not know what I wanted. By the time I received it, my tastes had changed more towards smaller watches.

But, as I was taking the photos, I can't help admire it. To my eyes, this is a work of art. Necky is a true master; the wait was worth it.

    Specs:
    - Jackson miny 6152 case, heavily reshaped by Necky
    - Necky custom 2-piece bezel
    - Athaya 3-piece dial
    - front and back plexi I think are from Necky, or kpoy
    - NW caseback(s)
    - NW CGs, reshaped by Necky; custom lever
    - Overhauled and serviced Molly 3601 (by strodda)
    - NW rolex engraved plates (these were a pita to install, had to sacrifice two molly movements)

I think I am easily close to 1.5-2K in this build in terms of parts and labor. The bill from Joe alone was more than a grand.

Anyway, enough talk, here are the photos:

  4. Has this happened to anyone? I sent my watch out to JJ for modding, but it seems that it is being held at customs in the US for more than three weeks.

I did not realize this could happen. This really sucks, because the parts list was worth about a grand...

  5. Hey guys,

I am trying to get a sun faded (not tropical per se) look on a dial, something like this:

    7016-macro-001.jpg

I am starting from a black HR 5513 dial.  I tried the oven method (on a different dial) but everything becomes darker. I am looking to get the opposite effect.

Do you think bleach would work? Any other ideas?

  6. Thanks. He accepted a return and I reimbursed him for the transaction fees.

By the way, they do not have to offer a return policy. Most sellers do not. If you choose to offer it, then I think you should honor it.

I only saw it a few minutes before it was closing, and I did not have time to ask questions. I bid on it regardless because he offered a return.
