  1. Bought one last year cheap, still going ok but motors are bit noisy :inverted: so I asked the wife politely and kissed her feet (you wanna see them  ) and just got a sixer for my Birthday!

I think they are ok if you need to be able to just pick a watch out and run like me, it used to be a pain to set one up every time I went out and as I understand it on the correct setting it keeps the movements lubed etc.

Sorry for crappy pic..its late :inverted:

  2. LoL :inverted:

Pho, I only wish I could agree with you mate, I try to think as positive as I can about everyone......that is until it involves money!

Human beings are a greedy lot and will do pretty much anything to get one over on you, so my philosophy 'Be positive, Karma is a wonderful thing' .....and if all else fails kick their Ass! ;)

Seriously though thanks again for the advice guys, as an update I haven't ordered anything yet! Pho you got me thinking it is a dear piece so I'm looking at Seadweller reps again and hoping to pin down one with a decent Rehaut to try my first bit of modding to make a vintage look SD.

    Cheers

    Steve

  3. No worries I want honest opinions and thats what I've got from both of you, Thanks :inverted:

I am looking at clearing some of my early buys later this week on here to fund my next few, Steinhart is one brand that keeps coming up for me as being fairly good quality I just haven't seen one in the flesh! I'm looking at one on the bay at the mo to see what they go for secondhand, and really like the Ocean Red, but like most of us on here I like quite a few watches :fool:

Pho I had a look at the Bremont website, nice :) but do you know how much they sell for? Invicta watches to me seem a bit hit & miss quality wise but I agree they have some nice looking models in the range.

    Cheers

  4. I'm sure Apple will send me an app to sort her out soon lol, drives me bloody nuts too :bangin: it's a common issue with the vintage woman I've got not sure if the later models had an upgrade though :g:

She can't grasp the fact that 'climate control' means just that, we live in 35C heat most of summer some days hotter, and whenever I get in her car bugger me the AC is off cause she got too cold last trip :inverted:

    feeling your pain vandal !

  5. I used 'White Lightning' a dry lube for bike chains, it's awesome stuff! Get a clean sandwich bag put the bracelet in and cover in the lube, rub it in really well then let the lube evaporate away a few mins then give it a good wash with some soap & water, rinse well then leave to dry, a quick buff and feels more like Gen. I have done the same to every bracelet I get works every time :inverted:

I am not sure if by feeling stretched you mean floppy/loose feel to it but if so try putting the bracelet links in a vice or pair of grips to push the pins home fully to tighten it back up, only had to do this once and worked a treat, obviously only do it on the parts of the bracelet without screws and use something to stop any scratches happening!

  6. I recently had the same problem with a ceramic sub, the bracelet fell apart whilst out for an evening :fool: I was lucky that I found the pieces and temp repaired it! On getting the watch home I found that the pins holding the band pieces together were too short and had simply come apart, out came the loctite and problem solved for me!

My other issue was with the springbars when I first got the sub, I lubed the bracelet and cleaned the watch down etc(as per recommendations on here) and when I tried to mount the bracelet again it just would not fit properly, so after measuring the springbars (both different sizes) and replacing them with some I had sourced cheap on the bay they went in first time and the watch is tip top again :inverted: in fact just been in the ocean with it for the umpteenth time and its still going strong!

The spring bars I used are ss316 20mm x 1.78mm, hope that helps ;) buy them here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/10-T-BAR-SPRING-BARS-STAINLESS-STEEL-20mm-x-1-78mm-/220845149286?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item336b658c66
