I thought 40/42 is considered smaller 45-47 is decent, and then all depends on how the case is designed, how heavy it is etc. Things like Seawolf are not so large in diameter but are darn clamsy, while AP's can be huge overall but very elegant.

I had a different AP with bolts instad of screws, and these could not be removed; the better models might have screws? What happends when you unscrew the bottom screws and remove the back of the watch? The bazel and top s"screws" stay as they were? Then you would need to force the bazel off which might or might not work, later more likely if it is bolted into the case...

Lets reframe the original question a bit. Say I give you $10 million of a watch fund, money you can spend ONLY on watches. What would your wish list be? Any reps at all?

From the pics I cannot honestly say the material/quality looks obviously cheeper then, say, 187, the case seems to be brushed, which is s nice touch, perhaps the straps should be dark brown gator with white stiching, other then that not bad looking, but not something I would order straight off...

Seriously, all the imperfections, plus the overall quality that is nowhere close to the gen kills the idea of having a rep Sub and feeling good about it; Sub (or SD) would probably be the watch I would be willing to pay for high-street price, the only thing that keeps me from doing it is that every kid on the street has a fake, so what is the value of the brand?

A good 2836 (real ETA, new etc.) will work for years flowlessly without need to touch it. If in a rep, the chances are it will run strong (and precise) years after the bracelet fell apart, the markers fall off, and the "sapphire" crystal got scratched all over and finally broke. One of the most robust movements, period.

Most are very good, none is perfect, any clear back is easy to tell, all have wrong too short pin. My advice go for the simpler models such as base, 111 or 112, and have a pin changed with the correct one. Straps need to be purchased separately, rep straps suck big time. Radiomirs are very good, very vintage looking. Check Josh's site, he has the good ones.

I have one, looks all APT3 models come from one or two factories (small differences in the pushers), visually close (other then strap which is horrible), buckle is completely wrong, an immediate givaway, and the worst yet it is quartz rather then auto. The gen is something like £18k so be my guest of you wish to fool somobody with this rep...
