Hi. I have placed an order for Breitling Superocean 42 Abyss Yellow two weeks ago. Purchase was flawless, everything went fine and package has arrived three days ago. When i received the watch i was amazed by its quality. I can tell you, it was love at first sight So I have spent a little while searching for some gen shots to make a little rep-gen comparison.

DIAL:

Dial looks pretty good to me. It is not perfect, so there can be found minor flaws compared to gen. Edges of the numbers on the dial are sharper on the gen. Reps have the edges bit rounded. BREITLING script on the reps looks to be written with different font. It looks like Arial or something like that has been used. And maybe the font is a bit thicker than it should be. Yellow color is really close, but is not gen like. Gens use colors that are a little bit more saturated or darker, it is closer to orange. But there is only slight difference between these colours. Numbers on the bezel are also sharper on the gen. Hands (hour and minute) seem to be more rounded on gen. Rep are more flat. But these really are minor flaws as we are looking at both watches under macro shots and these are not noticable by the eyes. On the other hand date wheel or script is the same as gen. Bezel is rubberized, lume is well applied (but not that shiny). Other things such as triangle, bezel teeth, markers, BREITLING logo look perfect. All in all dial is great and minor flaws are accepted. It is like 95% gen

STRAP:

Caoutchouc strap is one of the best thing on these watches. It is great. It is light, comfortable to wear and matches gen - same material, same design, same script and details. This piece is so well made, that if I would be gen owner, I would not buy gen strap from my AD. I would deffinitely buy this one!

CASEBACK:

Caseback is absolutely beautiful. Engravings are correct and also correctly placed. Only minor flaw can be, that the engravings on gen are bit deeper. But overall, caseback is perfect. No cons.

LEFT SIDE:

SO42 look very good from the side. He escape valve looks fine, case looks to have small noticable differences, nothing big. BUT what concerns me, are those screws on the side of bezel! They are incorrectly placed. All the gens have these screwed at 15 and 45 and each 10 mins between. Rep (at least my particular piece) have screws at 60 and 30 and then 10 mins. This means that each screw on the rep should have been placed 5 mins later I have been searching through TD sites and it looks like these reps come with two types of bezel. One that matches gen screwing and the other one, placed 5 mins later (or earlier . So watch out.

RIGHT SIDE

You see? No crown at 15.... But crown and B logo looks fine. Maybe on the picture the gen crown looks bit larger, but in reality it is the same thing. Slight differences can be caused be the fact, that my shots were made by a mobile phone

CONCLUSION:

Aside from the flaws these reps are must have. They are so well made, that they look very luxurious and expensive. I can tell you, with these on your wrist, nobody is going to ask you whether they are gen or not. Quality is awesome and i love them. The best thing about these Superocean is their size. For people with small wrists these fit just perfect. They have its own design, which many may not like. I love them, because they are perfet juice of elegance and sporty design and i feel comfortable to wear these on daily basis as my main dress watch. Some things may be improved in the future for V2 like correctly placed screws, better lume, correct BREITLING script on the dial and make sharper numbers. On the other hand, nobody is going to study your watch while you have them on your wrist with microscope. When properly serviced they will do great job and run +3 secs a day like mine (yes, within COSC standarts Breitling Superocean 42 are one of the watches, I would recommend to everyone. GREAT watch.

Yes, Egoiste is very good. I have never heard of Evaflor Double Whiskey, but it sounds good.

Double Whisky is very nice. But it may be a problem to find it somewhere in the shop. But there is no problem with online purchase. Double Whisky is one of the cheapest out there (like 10 eur) and smells really like ... smoky whisky Unusual, interesting, sweet and smoky. I do recommend.

Chanel Platinum Egoiste and Gucci Guilty Intense.

Good choice. I have tried Platinum Egoiste as well, but it was much different from that black Egoiste. It was more brisk, defined and spicy.

It pays to remember that the trusted dealers are usually not the people processing your CC payments.

nope. it is (or was) usual debit card. did not have those wireless functions.

My bank is willing to give money back. They said that this happens sometimes and reclamation is almost everytime acccepted. But as they have a lot of time, they are investigating slowly. Theit TOS states that such cases have to be resolved in 30 days, more complicated cases in 6 months... Gotta be patient.

Chanel Egoiste or Evaflor Double Whisky (both are EDT) are good ones.

If you did some reading, maybe a brand named Waterman came into your sight. Theit pens are real top-notch quallity. I own blue Waterman Expert Smart and i can tell you, i have never seen such a brilliant pen. Great built quality, gold coated and its colour is something like metalic blue. Go gen for cca 70 Eur. This will soothe your OCD sould (as did mine)

Hi. I have been to my bank recently. At this time they only know, that the pament was made from France to Italy (looks like somebody has bought tickets for train via some TRENITALIA company). Anyway they are investigating this case. But this happens sometimes when you use credit cards.

Right. i do not want to post the TD's name until the thief gets verified. Purchase itself was flawless and i do not know if the dealer is involved. At this time i want to stay fair to dealer until anything is proved. but i agree that maybe i should contact dealer directly and let him know about the case. he definitely should be aware of this. Anyway my bank is currently working on it and i hope this gets resolved. Although my reaction was fast, the automated telephone answering service added 10 mins and amount of one rep JLC master tourbillon has been stolen.

Hi everyone. I have never thought that i could be a victim of an identity theft, but this has changed today. I was working hard as usual, when suddenly my phone started to send SMS that my credit card is in use. I use my credit card rarely and my card was not in use almost past year (unbelievable in this so called modern age). The last purchase was a beautiful rep (how sad). I am not gonna say who was it, because this is unknown at the moment. The purchase was made via one of the biggest trusted dealers. I only hope that this is not the causation. It looks like my card was used to purchase something from an Italian railway company. Bank and the police is actively searching for the trespassor. Just wanted to let you know. Did this happen to somebody?

Damn this is wrong... Many people would not care in such situation, but you really are fair to everyone. I am really not glad to hear that as since I joined RWG i have bookmarked only one project http://www.rwg.cc/topic/135714-3714-82/ . This was my favourite. I hope this gets resolved soon. It is really a shame.

My QC pics have just arrived so here they are. I do not see any flaws, but maye you have better eyes. I would be glad for little help with them. I have been to local gen dealer to see gen and only thing i see is the color (which was more abyss on the gen) and swiss made script was closer to the yellow insert or how is it called. Btw. timegrapher results look fine to me, but i am not the pro. Thanks for your help

Ha, I see. I was very tempted to get yellow myself - it's very breitling-like. I decided to go with all black as I plan on wearing it with a dress shirt, and wanted a more formal look. I will probably end up ditching the rubber and go for black or brown croc. I notice it's not a very popular watch among breitling fans here, but I'll write a short review with some eye candy

That's my man I would like to wear these as a dress watch too. Some may say that this model is not suitable to be worn as a dress watch. I say that they are so elegant and well made, that wearing them with suit is ok and still they have cool sporty look. It is something different from (for me) typical dress watches like IWC Portuguese or Portofino or any watches with classic look like Jaeger LeCoultre. And the yellow color is also more Breitling like as well as it is an eye catcher. Hope to see review with some hq pics soon. I will add some pics too when my package arrives.

Beautiful watch man. I have ordered the same model in Abyss Yellow as i wanted also something smaller and not so thick for daily use (few days ago also thanks to maxman's advice) I can't wait for it. Wear it with confidence.
