  1. The spacing between "Oyster Perpetual Date" is too wide. That's one thing I know for sure. I have been thinking about getting this GMT version so I am in the process of reading as much as I can on it. I also think the crown guard is a bit off. If you look at a side shot of the gen vs the rep you can see that the top edge of the CG curves over the crown more than the gen.

I am also worried about the bezel. It is all blue and the black is painted over it. if you happen to scratch the black the blue will more than likely show through.

  2. I am considering picking up the batman GMT. I noticed PC has thr 2813 version for right at $200 with free shipping. theother option is. The 2836-2 for about $100 more. Considering both movements are Asian is there a reason to opt for the 2836 over the 2813?

  3. No you don't use pliers to widen the gap. You use pliers to adjust the curvature of the arm portion of the clasp. I found this out adjusting a deployant clasp. I didn't like the curve so I tried to adjust it to fit better and in doing so it would go from closing and not locking, to closing and locking too tight, to not even closing.

Where are you located? If in the US pm me your address. I have a working clasp. The fold over part that says Breitling 1884 is a little messed up on the corner but the part that is jacked up on yours works perfect so between the one you have and the one I will send you you should be able to make 1 functioning clasp.

  4. How does the AR on the Cyclops look?

My worries would be hitting the bezel and scratching the black portion which would then look like s blue scratch.

Trusty has this withcthe Asian2813 or 2836, any reason to go with the 2836 seeing as they are both Asian clones how much better could one be over the other to justify the extra $110.

  5. I was cleaning up my Seiko Monster and when I went to reinstall the bezel the gasket got pinched and pretty much destroyed. Finding a replacement bezel gasket is seeming to be quite the pain. Does anyone know if this gasket does anything for waterproofing the watch? The bezel fits pretty snug without it so while I try to track down a gasket is it still OK to go in the water with my monster?

Also anyone know of a good reliable source for the bezel gasket.

  6. I have an orange UPO at the moment with gen crystal and from use the bezel insert is showing signs of wear. I am considering a black insert replacement but looking on the bay some a shiny black and some are more matte black. Anyone know which is true to gen, shinny or matte?

  7. I was browsing the TD websites looking to purchase a TG chrono. I happened to check out Watcheden and am seeing they have alot more Top Gun models than anyone and they are all sub $200. They even have the new style TG with no sub dial at 9 and no day.

Anyone else seen these at watcheden?

  8. Thanks Ocram, I found outvabout the pliers trick last night while searching for more info. Worked like a charm on my big pilot and I also used the same trick to fix the stripped crown on my UPO. I have the gen parts for the UPO and just haven't had the time to do the swap.

I guess time will tell how well the pliers trick will hold up.

  9. I ordered a strap for my B&R 02, it is nylon custom made and has orange stitching. The maker knew the watch has 26mm lugs but the webbing used was 25mm. He told me that if you play with it enough the webbing will stretch out but I have done everything I can think of and it will not stretch out enough so now there are gaps that you can see the spring bars through and it bothers me so much I don't even wear the strap anymore.

I would like to find something with a 24mm lug width, I really would like a Bell & Ross as this strap has a particular aviation theme to it but I have no idea which of the square ones even come close to looking like gen and I don't want to dump $600 on the aviation.

I like the PVD ones with the orange numbers on the dial as the strap has orange stitching but looking at the B&R site these seem to be fantasy versions with no gen counterpart.

Any suggestions, or anyone know where I can get black spring bars??
