I can understand measuring the inside of the case is a good way to assess the difference, but the outside will not be right as the gen has been worn and might be polished. The lugs are quite thin and the CG has definitely been thinned out due to wear and maybe polishing.

Where did you get the inlay /insert from? Will the serif be correct?

Congrats and nice strap mate, where did you get it from?

Many serious collectors include ephemera like original watch boxes, advertisements, pens, display materials, product catalogs & registration paperwork in their collections, which make them more interesting. If paperwork is sought for that purpose, it is fine. However, criminals use genuine papers to fool buyers into thinking a fake Rolex is genuine. That type of activity is illegal & will definitely result in the criminal being banned.
Totally agree, hence I wasn't comfortable talking about papers.

Although I am not sure I agree with your description of MQ's source or case construction techniques, I am interested in hearing more myself. Nothing you have said so far is an annoyance. Please feel free to continue.
Thanks for your approval. I very like this forum so I don't wanna get kicked out :-)
For paper I think you can always source blank gens. For rep ones I think there's a lady who sells them (along with other makers) in Munich watch show.

What about papers? Can you get replica papers for a PN watch? I have seen some members posts and they have papers for the replica watches. Thought this was pretty cool
Hmm I rather stop commenting, as it seems like I am touting. Maybe PM me as I don't wanna annoy the mods.

I was pretty sure they would not, but can you explain us how the cases and parts are made ?

I have no idea I'm afraid. All I've been told by dad was for my case it took 3 seperate people, one to cut the case, another shaping and third engraving.

I met the guy who supplied Minh Que, he doesn't speak much English (Vietnamese) . They don't open up their factories for people and suppliers.

Engraving is included, can engrave what ever you like. Strap is better if u go for gen. I haven't seen a gold one yet, as he didn't take any photos.

Phong is currently quoting 7000 USD and especially if you have bought from him before, there is sometimes some flexibility in his prices. Oh wait. I missed an important point. Real Gold. You are now my new best friend!
Any chance asking what he could get SS for?
I think is around 5k. I am planning to go Vietnam in Dec so I can confirm. If DW is still around I think is best bang for your buck. Shame nothing now is semi close to gen for a reasonable price range

Great work., but I think the reverse relief is a bit too deep compared to what vintage Rolex seems to have done. Lovely work tho. Thanks for sharing.

Are all those your builds? If so all i can say is WOW. Bravo man! Really impressive. How long does it take to build something like that? And what is the average price for some of those builds?
Only two were with the V72. My dad is a watch restorer of which he has the same contact as phong and MQ. Last week he told me he can get a real gold PN for around 8k USD running on a V72, head only though.

I wonder if u can 3d print a stamp and then stamp the text on?

The 3-6-9 is straight off from the original dial, the unchanged. That is the result of the angles of the original dial.
There's no point in nitpicking small details. The dial will not be a clone. The same goes for the gold-plated look of the dial. The best possible to replicate will be a brassy gilt tone.
Remember this is a 400-ish USD copy of a 2000+ USD dial.
Apologies, I figure I bring it to your attention just in case you didn't pick this up. Pls keep up with the good work.
