  1. Hey, nice meeting all of you guys last night at the Disneyland GTG. You really are watch connoisseurs!
  2. Hey, that's a little far from LA.. But if traffic isn't bad, or if the location is closer to LA, than i might make it
  3. That is one of the 3 Quality rep sites that i found while i was in Guangzhou, China TimesShop.net mark- nice guy, met him he took me around. enjoywatches.com nice guy- met him at his shop a couple days in a row. prowatch-polo.com this is enjoywatches's Uncle, or that what he says. he told me to go to this site until his site is up. so hope that info helps. I haven't ordered from them, i'd rather just buy in person with cash
  4. haha, one of my favorite things about Guangzhou watch market is the fresh corn cobs (2RMB)and bananas (1RMB) they sell for 30 and 15 cents each, how did u miss that in the pictures of the streets?? met another one of the few GZ sellers with high quality. very very nice guy. i bought a watch from another competitor for a cheaper price, and he was fine with it and examined my new purchase for me. Seems to be a very honest guy. he runs enjoywatchesdotcom and actually speaks english they all say they have access to same watches, but their prices do vary but different factories do make the same models, so they vary slightly. for quality its 1000- 2000 RMB The problem is they all "say" they have the high quality ones, but not in stock to show you, even in their offices. for example, Mark said i have to buy a Cartier santos first before i can even see it, while enjoywatch guy showed it to me right there in the market, not even an office trip. however, he does have a ton of models in stock to show you, so i will definitely check him out next time i'm here. Bottom line: Any more info on who are the quality sellers located in Guangzhou???
  5. thanks! i talked to your guy, but he's not in Guangzhou right now, his brother is running his shop, but it has been closed for the past few days.. But... i found Mark from timesshopdotnet here in Guangzhou and he was very helpful, speaks english, has High quality, and he even took me around to show me the lower quality shops and his shop to see the differences. very patient and helpful. If anyone is in Guangzhou, they should look him up for sure. he knows his stuff, and very honest about the littlest errors even in his reps. tell him i sent ya, haha. I actually didnt even buy anything from him, but will see his bigger selection tomorrow. I'm not that big a watch addict like u guys, just a few at a time is all i need thanks again for the help.
  6. for example, the Tag Link Chrono that everyone raves about is nowhere here. It should be easy to find, but all i see is low quality, please help, i'll be back in the USA soon, i can bring extras back if u help me find the high quality ones.
  7. yes, they all have catalogs, just like this website, but they are all crappy quality it seems. have a look: www.gz-wm.com i want to find the top quality reps here. any help??
  8. I'm in Guangzhou, China right now!! for a couple days, i've gone to the watch markets, millions of watches piled up for sale. the problem is finding quality!!! i'll pay more for quality of course but havent seen it Does anyone know who i can contact to find the quality reps in Guangzhou? or which booth number to go to? Angus? what is his phone number here??? thanks for any info, i only have a few days left here, before i go to Shenzhen. i've been looking for Bulgari, Cartier, AP, Breitling, etc. lately thanks for any help, i've been reading this forum for awhile and everyone seems very helpful
  9. "Biggest tell is the Date font & case back" ??? NO Way, Not that matters in the real world anyway... This is exactly my point here of this whole discussion: Anyone who holds both of these watches in there own hands, will immediately see the beautiful dial shinyness, gleam, luster, etc. of the GEN BLUE & GEN GREY; whereas the Rep Grey dial looks like cheap plastic. [This has been confirmed in person by multiple members' own hands for the GREY. Blue is still unconfirmed...?] It is not easy to overlook or ignore, This should be a much higher priority topic, (and more interesting than caseback model numbers! Who the heck ever sees your caseback or model numbers? And for datefonts?? i'll take any font, or even no font at all! if they could just get the shiny dial right! And of course unless the pictures are taken at the same time, the lighting will be different, but photos still can support our points. All i'm asking is if ANYONE has held both BLUE Gen & Rep, in there own hands....! Please, i'm almost about to buy the blue just to prove my own point, that the Rep Dials look like cheap plastic But i hope i'm wrong.....
  10. Is there anyone who has held the Blue GEN and also the REP in their HANDS?? Can u please tell us, if it has the same inaccuracy problem as the grey rep?
  11. Can we try to figure out if the Blue Rep has the Same shinyness problem?? That is a MUCH bigger problem than date font, lume, crown guards, or all the other things people nitpick about!
  12. Ok, so can we try to figure out if the Blue Rep has this same shinyness problem? C'mon this is a worldwide forum, right?
  13. I agree ScoobyDoo, The difference is soooo obvious in person- where it matters; pictures are just to help illustrate our point. Just go to an AD, you'll see, it is far from it Now that we KNOW that the grey dial is NOT accurate. (not shiny) Can we move forward in our group to find out if the Blue dial is accurate? Is there anyone here who has held both GEN & Rep Blue dial? Who can say if the rep blue dial is as shiny as the Gen? C'mon guys, i'm just like you hoping for 100% reps: but now that i have HELD & WORN the Gen & Rep grey link, i've lost my faith
  14. Ok, i can help solve this whole mystery. i've been reading for a while, and finally bought the Silver Tag Link Chrono. ScoobyDoo is correct. the dial color and shinyness is NO WHERE near the Gen. I've seen the Gen in Silver and Blue, at 4 different AD stores, so i know what the originals looks like, and held them in my own hands many times. To me accurate Dial Shinyness/Color is a million times more importartant than crown guards, date window, interior markings, or lume- Minor Stuff that people fuss over wayyyyy too much. HONESTLY, the first thing i thought when i saw the rep that i bought, is that this forum is a hoax, a marketing scheme to sell the watches. But now reading more, it really just seems that people never see the Gens in their hand before they buy the rep, but still act like they have. So my main point is that people should really hold both Gen & Reps in their OWN HANDS before making comments that the reps are so accurate. Anyone who has held the Gens in their hands would not say the reps are accurate. I dont mean to sound so negative, but the Rep Silver Tag Chrono would Never pass for real, to anyone who has seen the Gen... also, The Gen DOES have lume on all the hour markers, the rep does not. here's 3 pics, they are all Gens. Notice how shiny the dial is. I'm sorry to spoil the myth of the perfect Rep for you guys But it's just not a shiny dial, and i highly DOUBT the blue face Rep is shiny. is there anyone else here who has held the Gen Blue next to the Rep Blue in their OWN HANDS? And still thinks the Blue Rep is shiny? Please, i would love any input on the blue.
