1. Well. Did the paint alright. Relumed and was not pleased with the result and decided to go from gen look to, just more lume. Result was raised lume on the markers and to much on the hands.

Since I'm bored with it I will put it together and take some pics some day. The batch of binder I was pleased with had a trip to the floor. The next one was not good. I think that's were I lost it.

  2. $750 for a service ? well at least you have free healthcare :D

Ye, right. That also suck these days. We are saving like crazy to stay out of the crises many other countries are fighting. But if you are lucky and manage to convince them you need it you have the chance to get first class healthcare.

  3. One was serviced. The other one i messed up and still haven't repaired because noone wanted to guarantee they could fix it. That's why I bought the second one.

Of the 7 forum watchmakers i sent inqueries to 4 answered and one didn't have any problems with the bigdate complication.

That extra module was something most didn't want to service. If parts was needed they wasn't sure they could get them.

A proper service on a 7750 with complications by a certified watchmaker around here cost somewhere over $750 if they even want to touch the Asian movements so for me it's a good price.

  4. Well. I finally got the watch back from service. It cost some $900 including this damaged one to get it serviced on my arm. Not worth it when looking back but wtf, now its done and i know the procedure.

I also know that second hands that move erratic might still do so after service and need other more expensive attention than the "standard" service. So if you need issues like that corrected, remember to notify your Watchmaker about it.

  5. Is the chrono a better rep then the non chrono?? Someone said the face is stamped on the non and the chrono isn't??

Does that make sense to anyone?

Usually the non chrono is the better one because of many, many less details to rep.

Maybe there are threads about the hour markers here somewhere, I don't have energy to search for you.

On rwg.bz you have a good rep/gen comparison. Here is one of dels excellent pictures.

If you after looking on this picture can say that the "tells" are noticeable on an arms length you may consider saving up for the real thing ;)

(can you see which one is the gen?)

  6. They all keep telling me they won't have anything until after the holiday. Didn't know it was such a long process!

You have a ton to learn ;)

I see you are in the us. One good thing with that is the shipping to you usually is faster than most other parts of the world.

Then when they get the watch they might find issues with it that need attention and there goes 3 weeks more, Then it gets stuck in custom...

When you eventually get the watch im sure you will enjoy it though!

There are trusted dealer on the other forums that deals from Thailand, He deals now. He have no so44 though.

  7. Even every dealer I wrote said to go with the Asian..They're basically just as good and the swiss are used or remanufactured...Good to know!

Just wish someone had one in stock right now!
If you manage to get something shipped out of China the next week or two you are a lucky man.

They are celebrating Chinese New year. All workers go visit their relatives. China closes down. If you have traded/bught with them during this period you know. If not read about it. Its fashinating ;)
  8. WOW, that is good..I still can't decide if I should get the Swiss or Asian movement...Toro said they are 100% new from NOOB and ptime says he doesn't sell them because they are remanufactured or used..
Well. If you got the cash, go swiss. Asian is just as good and reliable but the watchmakers will be happier working on the swiss than the asian.
The Asian in my so44 is smooth as silk ^_^ and the watchmaker i use dont care so for me there was another $150 or so more to spend on a new rep.
  9. Does this new version have a bi directional bezel?

    No.

as a rule i avoid changing the date using the quick set with these dual DWs, i was told they were a hit-or-miss proposition from the get-go

in fact when i pick up a watch to wear it's on or just after the date of the month, that way i don't have to risk screwing it up

Yet if the dual DWs get stuck, pull the crown to the time-setting position and go backwards .... as far as 6 pm the previous day, and they'll right themselves

Thanks. I will not give up on it just yet. Since i hopefully got another one serviced and working fine soon i can focus on this one again. I was out of energy at the time and put it back in the watch compartment.
