  1. /Shrug. I make no assumptions about anyone's income/assets. I'm only 28. But I have had my own law firm for coming up on 3 years, and do very well for myself. However, I doubt most people would guess that.
  2. lol. Not to get into a ridiculous sports debate, but American football is the most intellectual and demanding of all major league sports. The learning curve is massive (feel free to download the official rule book here; you'll note it's over 100 pages); the physical demands are immense; and most team's playbooks are the size of 2-3 dictionaries. You must realize that each play has 11 players on each team (22 total) and each player must generally perform their part perfectly at all stages of the play in order to be successful. Couple this with the fact that many offensive plays may be run very differently based upon how the defense is lined up (yet no word is ever spoken between key players, such as quarterback and receiver), and I don't think there's even an argument for calling American football an "attempt at creating a sport." I will admit that it has a very very high learning curve (try explaining to your wife that a player that has checked in as a receiver has to be covering a guard at the line of scrimmage, which is a line that you can't see, but trust me, it's there) and that it is immensely expensive to play. I believe that both of those reasons accounts for its lack of popularity in the rest of the world. By no mean is this a post trying to convince you that American football is the best sport or that only America can afford it. Neither am I implying that "real football" is in any way inferior to American football. I'm just trying to shed some light on the complexity of American football as I feel that most people think it's just a bunch of guys bashing each other around, gladiator style.
  3. Thanks, I figured as much. I was just confused as to why people were asking him to PM the dealer and price. I have an Stuhrling Original tourby (obviously chinese) that I paid 850 for and I've been more than happy with it. Anyway, that's a good looking watch. I may have to jump for one in the future.
  4. I'm not sure who Chuck D is. But I've looked over those Zeniths (like you guys have) and I'm just under-whelmed. The one I linked with the big turbine just looks... I dunno, more imposing? I know that style varies greatly by individual, but I'm just surprised that no rep companies have made anything like those. Anyway, thanks for the input.
  5. I'm sorry for the dumb question, but: Is this a rep or gen? I get confused on this site. Thanks in advance.
  6. Nevermind. Looks like this is common to all asian 7750/7753 movements. There is a supposed fix here: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/17871-you-do-not-have-to-live-with-the-7750-whirrrr/ but, frankly, I'm scared to do that. Haha.
  7. Just got a Corum Admiral's Cup 48 in titanium a few days ago from trustytime. So far, I've been pretty pleased with it, but over the last couple days, the automatic winding weight (I don't know what its called) has been making a spinning sound. It's a whirring "zzzzzzz" (or perhaps buzzing) sound if I happen to move my arm in a way that sets the weight swinging. It just keeps spinning from the momentum and is very loud. It is significantly louder than, say, an automatic Sturhling Original that I have. Is there any way to oil it or do I need to tighten the main screw? Any idea as to how I can fix this because it's driving me slightly crazy. Also, I'm very very new to watches and doing self repair. I did take the case-back off to see what was going on, and it seemed like the weight was moving up and down a little. But I'm definitely no expert and would hate to wreck a (for me) expensive new watch. Thanks for any light you can shed on this problem.
  8. Right, but those are (sorry to say) pretty ugly. I know that's personal preference, but I just don't understand why there's no attractive zenith dive watches repped. Makes me sad
  9. Yes, it's new, but I haven't really found anything about it that I don't like yet. Had to be in court early today, so I couldn't take pictures in the sun (it's overcast anyway). However, the lume isn't getting any better. I've heard talk of being able to "re-lume" watches or (even better) getting them painted with some slightly radioactive coating that glows for a long time but isn't harmful (don't remember what its called). Anyone have any info on this? Thanks so much.
  10. Sure thing. Just stuck in the office so it'll have to be tomorrow morning but I'll get on that. It's a hefty sized watch at 48 but honestly doesn't feel too large (to me anyway). Ok... the chrono isn't screwed up. I'm the screw up. I didn't realize that the prongs at the end of the watch are locks. once you unlock them, it works! OMG! Sigh...
  11. Also, does anyone know what the bottom subdial is? I thought it might be a GMT, but it's been stuck pointing at 12 for about 3+ hours now.
  12. Just got my Corum Admiral's Cup 48 in Black as the first rep that I've bought. All in all, I'm very pleased with the look and already gotten two compliments on it (been wearing it for all of 30 minutes). Here is a picture I just took As you can see, the main dial has a cool pattern to it. It isn't very noticeable unless you're looking at it just right. The same with the smaller dials. They do have a certain pattern and reflect light in a unique way, which shows that they're not just plain, but they're even more subtle. The minute hand at the 9:00 does move pretty smoothly but if you really study it, you'll see very very slight ticks. The band and buckle are chunky and feel good. The watch is lighter than I'd expect due to the fact that it's made from titanium. However, the bottom chronograph reset button just quit working. I started, stopped, and reset the chronograph twice earlier and had no problem. Then just now I started it, stopped it, and went to reset it but the button was done. Fortunately, I was able to wait for it to get back around to the 60 (where you see it in the picture) and stop it with the top button. The lume doesn't seem to be very strong (albeit it was just in a box for about 10 days) so I'm waiting to see if it picks back up once the watch is exposed to a good amount of light.
  13. So I've been looking for and wide and I really can't find any good rep Zeniths. I've been looking for a decent/passable "Deny Xtreme" but pretty much everything I look at leaves me with a "meh" feeling. Do anyone know of any dealers that have anything remotely close? Even the Defy Xtreme's that I do find seem to be (forgive the phrase) unattractive/unimpressive models. Nothing spectacular like this: Is this brand just incredible hard to rep or what gives? Also, if anyone knows of any good reps, PLEASE let me know. Thanks so much and have a great day.
