  1. Hey, I posted here a while ago and the community was extremely helpful but I'm back for a quick question. I was thinking about purchasing a DJ2 from Trusty Time since they are a reputable seller. But when I bought one two years ago, the face was great but the bracelet still felt a bit tinny to me and people could clearly tell it was questionable. My band even popped off while I was clapping at a casino. Very embaressing. However, I asked a guy over at TT if the quality is better now and he said yes and that they are all BP factory. I read about BP here but I am still a bit confused. My main question is: How does the band feel on these BP quality Rolex DJ2? Does it feel more solid and smooth? Basically, how much closer to a genuine are these new BP Rolexes? Is it substantially better quality now? Thanks.
  2. Those look like the Swiss Made ones I was going to get @ 20mm x 1.8. Although, with this watch, the band staying on the face wasn't the problem. I was able to take it to a watch repair guy and he changed out one of the bars that hold the clasp leaves together (as someone mentioned, those are the bars I was speaking of). It has since been wearable, but still... I wish the band felt more smooth like the genuine. I will say this though, after cleaning the watch the band does feel nicely. But but band now seems a bit stretched. Almost as if the bar within the band aren't good. I am wondering if just bringing this to a jeweler and saying replace all the bars/screws with the best you have will fix it. What lube did you use for the band?
  3. I am talking about the ones in the clasp leaves. Andrew also mentioned something about modding. I would like to get the Swiss Spring Bars then have it modded to fit. I really feel like with Swiss Bars, this this will be pretty damn durable. Do you know the size of these pins and a good website to get them?
  4. Yeah, I mean, like I said--I am willing to accept that. But I would like the thing to function and be wearable. I have accepted the fact that the gold ones will not come close to the feel and even stainless steal will never be spot on, but the band on the new one I got feels fine. It is just that the pin that holds it together easily fell apart. There is even a dent in one of the working ones. I have gone to a jeweler and asked him to put Swiss Spring Pins in, but he said the ones for the clasp do not fit. I spoke to Andrew and he said authentic Rolex pins will be too thick (who the hell knows why they wouldn't size it correctly). So I am going to purchase after-market Swiss Pins from a reputable site that I have heard a lot about: http://www.ofrei.com/ I really think putting really good pins in will increase the quality and even the feel of the replica. A lot of pieces are attached by cheap pins and even changing to one that is not as good as Swiss helped the feel. Although, the clasp did fall apart with the new pin and the jeweler fixed again for no charge. The jeweler mentioned getting Swiss also saying it is a lot sturdier and tight. I was looking for tips on what to get for replicas that can increase the quality and make it feel more like the real thing. Something like getting an authentic band really makes a difference, or changing pins but I guess only trial and error will account for my satisfaction. I will report back here when I put the new Swiss made pins in.
  5. Hey all. I have posted before when I was looking for a good dealer and about to make my first purchase. Well, after trusting Trusty Time (with two purchases now), I still have a lot of questions and need a good amount of advise. Like most things I get into (obsessed with ), I like to learn as much as I can about the subject. Now, after my own research I was under the impression that even though some dealers are better than others, at the end of the day, you are getting a watch from the same few factories. This being said, I was both impressed and disappointed with the quality. Let me explain that and then let you know where I am seeking advise. After my first purchase, the watch came. It was a Rolex Day-Date with the Presidential band (36mm). As most fake watches I have seen in the past, the band just did not feel nice. After some suggestions, I oiled it up and it felt a lot better. Upon speaking with Andrew, he told me that the new 41mm watches have solid mid links and that I cannot expect a replica of a solid gold watch to feel that close, since gold is denser and will feel nicer. I took his word and ordered a 41mm Roles Datejust with Oyster band. I would also like the note that the first purchase fell apart also. The pins bent easily where the band connected to the face and the latch stopped functioning. Making the watch impossible to wear as a result of two problems, not just one. Nevertheless, I ordered the new Datejust. The watch came and felt nicer and this time I didn't oil the band, I simply cleaned it as suggested for genuine Rolexes. The band feels good, but there was something that bothered me. Although, upon letting people see my watch, they really thought it was real. And these were the same skeptics that spotted the last one right away. So I should be happy, right? Well, not really. Upon opening the watch, the pin move and the latch fell apart. Thankfully no one was around to bare witness to my embarrassment. but it happened nonetheless. This makes me very worried something like this will happen if someone asks to see my watch. Or even worse, if I am out with a girl. Anyway, I spoke to someone I made friends with on here and they suggested maybe I hold the quality of a genuine a bit too high and maybe that is true for the band. But I know for damn sure a genuine would not be falling apart. Now here is where I want advise: What kind of changes can I make to my replica to increase the quality? Should I change the pins to the type authentic Rolexes use? Is it worth it to purchase an authentic band and use it? Here is a big question I have. Am I getting the best replica there is? I read other sites that say they use 440 steel and all authentic screws/pins. Is this just a selling tactic as there are no replica factories that don't cut costs? Can anyone recommend a better Rolex dealer where they are ridiculous quality (I am willing to spend a bit more for a replica band that is ON POINT)? Thank you all so much for your help. I am sure others are as intense as I am in subjects that peak their interest. I just hope someone more knowledgeable can help me become a pro.
  6. Hello all. So I recently purchased from Trusty Time and the transaction was amazing. This is my first 'real' replica purchase (as I like to call it since one I got years back was terrible). It was a super smooth ordeal that would definitely keep me going back but I have a few questions. Here is more on the review of Trusty Time and pics of the watch: http://www.rwg.cc/topic/141445-just-ordered/ My questions are about the band. Everywhere I go online when they talk about spotting replicas, nothing really (or vaguely does) mentions the band. Honestly, that is where I am able to spot something is not right on any watch. If the band feels kinky or makes a hallow sound, it is an instant red flag. I received my Rolex Day Date 36mm that is advertised as 316L solid stainless steel bracelet included. But when I play with the watch, the band doesn't feel right. It feels like it is not right. It kinks slightly and you can just feel the vibration as it is not as soft as feeling a gen. It also does not feel as solid. Now, I was talking to a kind gentleman from here who recommended oiling the bracelet and an old (banned) dealer used to offer it as a service. He also told me that my expectations of a REAL Rolex seems too high and that the band isn't really the problem probably. But I have felt gen Rolexes and the band feels so soft, smooth and solid. Now, I know obviously it is not going to be exactly like a real one. But is there something I am missing? Should I be requesting a better band make? Should I be using a different dealer that is known to nail the Rolex bracelets? Handing this to a friend, they instantly said it was fake. Just by feeling it. Honestly, I am not the type to own a replica nor give that vibe with people I associate with. Actually, when I was told, the dude thought it was real for sure. He owns an authentic gold Daytona. But as soon as he felt it he said you can feel the band is not right. I would love to get some opinions on this matter. Including what oil I should use, if any, to avoid what I am talking about. Thanks guys. Without this forum I would be lost.
  7. I agree. I decided to go with PureTime after the "It was as smooth as Amazon" someone posted. There were also several screen shots and the only negative reviews never seemed to come from quality of the item. I guess time will tell (pun intended ). I hope things go well as I am looking for a main source. But I will most likely try Trust soon enough. Although, Trusty Time seems to have a more complicated system for selecting the mechanisms. Is there a place I can read up on the differences? Thanks so much guys. You have been such a great help to me. You cannot imagine how much this eases my mind and my search after all the scams and [censored] I snuck my way out of. Good thing I was familiar with website umbrellas scams and looked for a forum right away. /e-hug
  8. Thank you for that find. I found this as well: http://puretimewatch.com/product/day-date-ii-ss-silver-diamond-dial-a3156-best-edition/ I like the band better on the one from PureTime as the new 41mm Rolexes have that band, not the 2006 oyster band as the watch you linked has. Although, do you feel Trusty Time is a more reputable dealer?
  9. Thanks for getting back to me guys. I don't mean to sound too newbish, but the good part is I am a quick learner. I did some researching on the trusted dealers and it seems like Pam111 (Paul as he is referred) had the biggest selection of the range of watches I am looking for. There were some horror stories but they were from five years ago and it is impossible to find anything more recent. Say in--2011 or so. So I was curious if he has cleaned up a bit because some of the newer (2009) reviews seemed positive. After reading a lot of reviews, PT always came up as one of the 'best' dealers. Now I know there is no 'best' dealer, but we can come pretty close when it comes to specific watch--right? I hope so. So I guess my next question is; should I wait for PT to come back at the end of January? His site is totally down so I don't know what his selection is or if it is even worth it. Let me give you a link and description of what I am looking for. I am looking for a ROLEX Day-Date 41mm with either a White or Pearl dial (face). I would rather the bezel be plain platinum like the entire watch should be. I am willing to pay a good amount of money if the watch is top notch and QC'd. I live in the United States. I hate to be annoying but I really would like a custom recommendation from one of you experienced guys. I can and will continue reading but nothing is EVER going to beat a dealer recommendation from someone who has experienced enough to make said recommendation. Here is the link of the watch: http://www.watchuwant.com/sites/default/files/rolex-day-date-ref-218206-serial-7u778843--unassigned-076.jpg I cannot find a pearl face because I don't know if they make it.
  10. I have found the trusted dealers, but is there an area I can request a watch? I wan a specific 41mm Rolex day-date. Thank you.
  11. Hello all. I am new to the replica game and need help. I am glad I found these forums buried among the scammers, but a lot of the links are broken. I am looking for a Rolex 41mm Platinum Day-Date with white pearl face replica. Or maybe just silver, but I really want to know some reputable sites I can shop safely on. I am looking for closest to real as possible. I appreciate your anticipated assistance.
  12. i am very eager to view this forums trusted sellers. Can someone please point me in the right direction as most of the intro threads have all broken links.
  13. None of these links work. I am trying to review a reputable replica website and place an order.
