  1. Website claims all kinds of things about all parts are interchangeable with the genuine watch etc. Is it a good representation 'out of the box'? CGs look a bit small to me but that might ne the oversize crown If it takes gen parts than a crystal swap, different crown etc should see me ok. How about the dial? swap or OK?
  2. Good answer. I got into Reps because I have a Gen Omega Seamaster I wanted to keep nice but still wear one at work.
  3. I don't agree, pricing of any Omega or Rolex is is stupidly high for what you get. Quartz Omega will be as well made as the Automatic and will keep better time. Just because you don't like a quartz watch doesn't mean it's any more over priced than any other Omega.
  4. One of the main 'Tells' of a Quartz movement is the second hand 'jumps' a second at a time rather than 'sweeping'
  5. Omega to a Quartz fersion of their Seamaster, so it's not just 'low end' watches that use them
  6. WSO Bezel? Who are WSO? Don't knock the DG Movement. I have a 'Sterile' GMT Master II with the DG Movement I am going to use as my first Mod attempt. It has the DG Movement, I compare it's time every day with my PCclock and a very accurate Rotary Chronospeed Quartz. It is always within 3 seconds of both.
  7. Also try www.itailor.com They will do you a customized bespoke suit. You specify colour and type of fabric, collar style , lining. pocket style , number of buttons, length of jacket etc. They will even monogram the label. All for a fixed price. Airmail to wherever you are.
  8. I go a reply for my question asking to see the back. He says he dosn't have a picture and it is 'unmarked'
  9. Look at his feedback, all low cost tat then suddenly a flash Rolex? Alarm bells?
  10. I asked if he has a picture of the case back and side opposite the crown.
  11. Isn't the position of the HE valve the giveaway?
  12. In Europe perfume, watches etc are all subject to the same laws to a greater or lesser degree depending on the country. In most of them it's a Civil thing and the companies Lawyers would take you to court for damages and seizure of the goods if you tried to import them. In the UK there is only the SKy TV thing I can think of and even that is the 'Commercial' contract users, places like Pubs where they have to purchase the expensive licnse for public viewings. There's no way a home user could be traced but if a Pub or Club starts offering Live Football and they haven't got a license from Sky they will clobber them.
  13. The question is in the title realy. When did Rolex start engraving the Rehaut?
  14. I have to say I don't know and have never met anyone who would be able to tell the current reps from original. I wear my original Omega and a Rep and no one has noticed at all.
  15. I have a Gen Seamaster. I got into Reps because I wanted a replica to wear when I go fishing or I am working so I don't mess up the Gen.
  16. There are various companies that protect sales in different countries by prohibiting import of their products from elsewhere. It doesn't just happen in the USA. France have upheld similar 'grey' import bans and so have a few other European countries, Even though it is against the 'Free Market' It was decided by the European Court that it doesn't go against the rules about free markets and restriction of trade crazy as it may seem. In the UK you can't watch English Premier League Football if you get it from any source other than Sky, they have sole rights to live transmission in the UK. even though you can get (for example) a sat reciever that will pick up the Greek signal if you use it to watch the live football they will prosecute.
  17. I use a Zippo myself but my 'other half' insists on gas so she doesn't 'smell up her purse' Any suggestions for a good one?
  18. I know it's an oldish thread but it just seemed to cut off with the WD-40 question and was left hanging.
  19. I like retro gear. I have half a dozen 1950s - 60s suits, they are all Bespoke when they were made and a local guy adjusts them for me. I collect old Flying Jackets as well so I could easily spend £5000. I have some genuine WW2 A2 Jackets that are too prcious to wear so out and about I wear replica jackets by www.aeroleatherclothing.com or www.eastmanleather.com Both UK companies but they make the best replica US jackets. For anything else these are the folks to check out Magnoli Both UK companies but they make the best replica US jackets. For anything else these are the folks to check out www.magnoliclothiers.com They have suits, overcoats, shirts (all bespoke) hats boots, shoes etc.
