  1. David,

I have nothing to add to your post, but I have often considered the 212. I like the domed crystal, the layout, and the crown on this watch better than the 196 (which I had and did like).

I've seen a couple of dealers offering a new and improved sapphire/ar crystal on the 212. I could even go one step further and get the swiss 7750.

I know there is a handwind "seagull" movement out there too.

    Decisions, Decisions.

Too many watches, not enough wrists.

    Hey, I'm #1, I'm #1

  3. thats why UK's gun control is for the ass. if they dont have guns to shot ppl or to threaten them, they use knifes.

ppl are more likely to stab someone else, than to shot him, because shoting makes a lot of noise, stabbing doesnt. with a gun in your hand, you dont even have to shot someone, he'll hand over his jew gold in a heartbeat!

Jew gold???? You've crossed the line my friend. As far as I'm concerned, you've just put yourself on the banned list. You are very lucky that there is cyberspace between us because you would be in a world of hurt without it.

  4. Thus far I have received answers from four different dealers...

One says $240 is his lowest.

Another, says $210, but must deliver to one location in bulk for redelivery.

Third, says Yes on $210, and has 30 in stock ready to deliver.

4th says also $210 lowest, but will do hand inspections to clear up

the chip paint dial flaw. ^_^

I'm in for an inspected $210 Ingenieur. I do need one or two extra links for my dinosaur bone wrists.

Lets get this one done today!!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  5. I could care less about date font. I'll never meet another person that has a Ingenieur to compare it to. AR would be a nice fix. I would even pay a bit more for the AR coating. It just adds so much to watches (ex: Breitling Seawolf/Chrono Avenger, Pam 111/036)

I also need an extra link as the watch can only be sized up to 7 1/2 inches.

  6. Chronomat123-The SA available from both Josh and Andrew has a sapphire crystal and seems to have good build quality. Yes, the dial is from a Chronomat, but frankly, Breitling makes so many varieties of their watches and has changed dials like the wind, so who would know. The new and old gen SAs have different bracelets altogether. Here are pics for comparison. I still have not heard of anyone purchasing this watch.

  7. I have no idea how they acquire the hides. It's obviously not illegal as they ship all over the world. I'm sure the hides don't come from poachers.

It is a beautiful strap that will outlive me. It's like armor.

Sorry to offend anyone by wearing it. My daughter really likes Babar, so maybe when she's old enough to ask what Daddy's strap is made of, it will be sold.

  8. I don't mind spending 150$ 200$ for a great straps on a reps i wear a lot.

The combo just add so much credibility to the reps.

Here in paris we have a shop called "atelier du bracelet parisien".

when you go to the shop you can choose your lather or reptile, ask for coloration shape etc .. and the make it for you.

An aligator strap for a PAM is around 200$, which i find okey for a custom order...

But dont go there with a pam rep as the owner is a paneresti :p

I have a custom ABP elephant strap on its way. Might arrive today. I'll post a pic. $200 for this one.

  9. I can't wait to get my straps a little beat up. With so many straps, it's hard to get a good patina going.

The only strap I was worried about scarring was my Greg Stevens. Too soft for me. Great looking, but delicate.

Sold it after a couple of days.

If you want a strap that is tough and develops a great patina, get a Woj. Many choices for $80.

  10. LOL, that's a scary question. My limit has been $230 so far, I can't see it going higher than that. There are lot's of good straps out there in the $80-130 range.

Europelli has been my most purchased brand, the quality is great and Drew is an excellent guy!

For custom straps, Aaron HKTan is the way to go for me so far.

Just ordered a Metta from Rob and he has been very communicative and thorough throughout our dealings :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Good luck with your purchase!

Who is Rob? I know Bob, Drew, Aaron, BigBob and Don, but don't know a Rob.
