Me and my family are heading for a 3 weeks vacation in my home country in asia in April 12th and i'll possibly be able to go alone to China for a couple of days. I can used some suggestion and information as to specific places or stalls to get decent reps. Can i even be able to get all ultimate version of reps that are being offered by our dealers?

Kick back, have a beer and be patient. Give it 10 days to two weeks before you start worrying. All of us can't wait until our watches arrive, but it's like the old watched pot. Best to just go about your business and be pleasantly surprised when your new treasure arrives. If you bought from one of our trusted dealers, there's no reason to fret, and the tracking on EMS, etc., usually sucks anyway.

Anybody have a source for nice pearl lume dots for my subs? (Please don't say the Rolex AD.) Checked with Bobo. He doesn't have any. None on ebay. Any thoughts?

Just a small addition to a great post: After you take down the underside of the bezel insert with the dremel, in order to get it nice and flat on the bottom, lay a piece of fine emory or sand paper on a piece of glass (glass is perfectly flat), lay the insert on the emory or sand paper and work it back and forth, rotating frequently to change the pressure points. To increase your grip and avoid grinding off your thumbnail, get a box of rubber fingertips from the office supply store. They come in handy for many applications -- caseback opening, for example.

Most important, as Bruce says, TAKE YOUR TIME.

Why do you want to do this anyhow? Noobmariner hands are pretty good.

I buggered the minute hand a bit and I'm really freakin' anal about details. Can't even see it. Just bugs me cause I know it's not perfecto.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. Just ordered a tube of the GS Hypo and will give that a whirl. I used E600 all-purpose clear adhesive from the craft store and that worked pretty well. Seems like it's just a matter of trying glues until you find one that works well. The trick on this job is finding something with enough bond strength to keep the edges of the bezel insert down tight against the bezel all the way round, while not bonding so tight (epoxy) as to make future removal of the insert impossible.

Wow, impressive detail of knowledge on this subject. Do any of our dealers have anything that comes close enough to mod into a relatively close rep of the 6200? Correct dial, case that could take CG removal, correct crown, riveted bracelet, etc. I'd like to take on the project, but you would need at least a correct dial and case to start with.

C'mon, fellas. What would it take?

Want to replace the hands on my noobmariner. Is there a good chance the 70/120/20 or 90/150/25 hands from Jules Borel will fit the Asian movement?

The illustration on their web site looks like they are submariner-style hands. Does anyone know if they are the correct hands?

Just heard from him this a.m. Like others who have replied to this post, I believe he is getting caught up after the Chinese New Year. I would counsel patience.

Need to glue a new bezel insert into the ring on my noobmariner project and I'm looking for a recommendation. Tried clear craft glue, but it doesn't bond tight enough. Don't want to use epoxy because I'll never be able to get the bezel insert off the ring again. Looking for something in between.

Any suggestions?

If I swap out the Asian movement from my Neil noobmariner with an ETA, will the same hands fit?

Fresh from a bezel mod by big joe ...

Well fellas, I finally did my first teardown of a noobmariner and I am freakin' jazzed!!!

Been collecting for several years now and, being mechanically inclined, I've always wanted to get into the guts of these things. I've been in the shop most of the weekend now and can honestly say I'm hooked. I've completely refurbished all the parts - cleaned, polished, scotch-brited and oiled the bracelet etc. I even unseized the bezel by painstakingly milling and polishing the bottom side of the ring. Now she turns and clicks like a dream. Ordered a new bezel insert and I'm planning to try reluming the dial. Then I'll be ready to put this bad boy back together.

A big thanks to Edge for providing the tutorials and confidence I needed to dive under the hood. My wife might never see me again!!!

I bought a 2006 SS Daytona 7750 (secs at 6) back in September from one of our most trusted dealers. (Pic below) Wore it probably a dozen or so times and now it's dead. I emailed the dealer twice asking what, if anything, he could do to help and got no response, which kind of upsets me because I've probably spent a few grand on watches from this guy over the past couple years. This also is one my favorite pieces, so I really want to be able to wear it.

As this is the first time I've had trouble with a watch dying on me, what should I expect, if anything from the dealer? If the consensus is I can expect nothing, who would you guys recommend to fix it? You can PM your recommendations on a repair person if you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Have you been able to resize your strap?

Im having a hard time getting those small screws out. Ive stripped one already.. is there an easier way?

No problem with the screws on the one Josh sells. From experience, invest in a good set of screwdrivers with hard SS blades. Try a drop pf penetrating oil before attempting to take out the screws. Also FYI, each indiviaul link has two screws. To remove a link, you have to take out the two little screws on the one side of the link, then slide the U-shaped pin out of the link from the other side. A bit tricky and different than other bracelets. Finally, I just put a nice 22mm dark brown croc strap on this beast and it looks awesome!

Is that titanium? Or is it the angle of the picture?

It's the SS model. The brushed bezel makes it look somewhat Ti in the pic, but it's SS. Size is 44mm, but its' heftier than any other watch I've owned, including the 44mm SS pam models. This thing is a freakin' beast! Absolutely love it.
