  1. Hi All,

A while Back I posted pictures of my DSSD rep that made love with my the lugs of my friends titanium bulova precisionist. Left a nice deep scratch on the Crystal. After testing out some ways to polish off plastic I figured out that the watch had a sapphire. I learned from a PAM forum on how this guy got the scratch out of his crystal

Using Diamond paste 2.5 Micron and then 0.5 Micron to polish it off. Let me tell you, the crystal is so smooth and glossy now.

Here is the pic of the original scratch. Deep ones at hour marker 4

Heres the tape off and the diamond paste arriving

    Diamond paste application

Self grinding diamond paste by hand with a cloth, did this for 30 minutes

Now, the lighter scratches did come out, but the rest were tough, I ended up getting a dremel with a polishing tip and give it a whack. And it worked!

This diamond paste can be had for about $6/tube which is about 5 grams per tube.

  2. BK is a watch modder who imports NoobFactory watches and re-sells them. He has modding facilities, so if you want your watch "worked on" before it's shipped to you, he can do that.

And yes, he is in the CONUS.

Thanks for the info JKay, Maybe he will have that explorer II i have been looking for. Lately I have just not been wanting to purchase from the over seas TD and taking the customs risk

  3. I don't think this one has been rep'd too often. But the one you have posted is just terrible. That Pearl is just so wrong along with the numerals and date wheel.

I don't think they will do a good job as the 8500 movement is going to be hard for them to replicate, its a gorgeous movement, I have it in my deville hour vision 8500 and that's the down fall to the reps.

  4. The seagul come (st2130 iir) will match a 2824 Available new on the bay also

Thanks Mellons, I will have to check out that movement. Is it a model match? I know that if you are putting a watch together every mm counts. btw what does iir mean?

The date-at-6 and date-at-3 movements are identical. All that differs is the printing of the datewheel itself.

Thanks Sneed, do they make a seperate date wheel for the 2824 that I can swap out?

You could try Cousins UK. Make sure to go with traceable shipping though, my last order from them never showed up and they claim no responsibility as I went with standard shipping. Could you use an SW200? Ofrei should have them in stock.

Thanks, Ill have to check that out. I am not sure if the SW200 will fit.
