  1. I have nothing against 10k gens @TTK : I did not know this story. I reacted about the lowball thingie...
  2. Hi, sorry, I can't fully agree. Not speaking of the porn matters, but of the low-end gens... (I am directly concerned to some extent, as you could guess). Well, we all love reps here, cheap or expensive. And basically we all love watches as a whole, so I feel normal that from time to time we speak about these. Exactly as I feel normal we speak about gen movements, off-topic things and other rep items. BTW, is there a minimum value requested for a gen to be posted here ? In this case, may I suggest to vote for this minimum amount ? And indicate while subscribing "beggars go home !" When I read such things, I feel like on Paneristi's boards spitting on everything than is not a 3000 dollars watch... We're all adults and know what a cheap watch is, what a gen is and what a rep is. If someone's a bit enthusiastic on complimenting a Casio, so what ? Hope I won't be flamed for that, but please be tolerant : low-end gens are not a sin, and not forbidden as far as I understood. Thx for reading.
  3. Sorry, sounds stupid but... can't you open 2 accounts and have the payment done half from one and half from the other ? As long as the dealer knows it, sould be OK ?
  4. Hope Admin can get the boards funds ! For the first time ever I participated a lottery ...and lost...
  5. Sorry, for those who would have a doubt, the marking is wrong : MIGLIA is written on the Swiss, and AILGIM on the Asian. It's not a spelling mistake, but really the word is reversed. How to explain that ?
  6. @ridnwind Here's mine Although it's a chrono I would classify it in the dressy watches, of course.
  7. Beautiful ! Is it the AD desk in the background ?
  8. Hi, I saw this by chance, looking in one of our dealer's section. I checked that in several others, and it seems to be a flaw on all the Asian versions. Pictures speak for themselves... Anyone had the opportunity to check the gen ? And anyone has the Asian version without this flaw ? I know it's not the kind of detail you'll see from miles away (as we're used to say), but this maybe means that the manufacturers are different and the case too, which I did not think before. I really felt like only the strap, the AR coating and the movement were the main differences. Any thoughts ?

    a new IWC rep?

Hi, I've been wondering if I would buy it or not... Cheap, I mean, affordable. But true, how reliably does the guy deliver ? I have not seen this same model around. We should ask Ruby ? And yes, this marking on the back is really silly !
  10. Hi, for me, a dressy watch has rather a leather strap (although my Overseas has a SS bracelets..) It has no chrono. Vacheron Constantin, Philippe Patek and Breguet are typically the kinds of brands you can have a look into. Personnally I have found a lot of watches I love in the Vacheron Constantin yard. Two examples : But what do you mean by "the best" ? The most accurate ? The most reliable ? The VC Overseas is known to be very well repped (be carefull, there are several versions) and has an ETA movement.
  11. The Breitlings have caught my attention since the SFSO. Never even considered them before. Now I like the amount of details which you find on these. Usil, do you have a few pics to share ? Seems TWP is a fair dealer : it's always when you meet problems that you learn the value of your dealer.
  12. Sorry, it was not far.. http://www.rwg.cc/members/Problem-after-se...750-t31525.html
  13. Hi, for the moment that's a problem I consider as minor, but I don't know how it can evolve on the longer term. I have a VC Overseas with an ETA 2834-2. Keeps good time, winds very well on the watchwinder. But when I wind it manually, the crown is very hard. It works, but I don't like to force. My other auto watches don't behave this way. My other ETA movement (on a Montblanc GMT) has not this issue. Do you know what the problem might be, and how to fix it ? Thx.
  14. That's why I would not order the strap alone. I guess it's the same fee with or without the strap when you order the watch. Just found an eminent member who will order a strap for me with his watch. I love this board for such things. And thanks Piratedzeus for having brought this information to this thread
  15. So cheap... Do you mean leather strap ? I paid 25 dollars from a member for my strap, thought that was a bargain against the 40+ from other dealers. Would an EU based (regular) member buy a black leather one for me ? I am a trustable member, we can arrange everything by PM. Ready to trade against other unworn leather straps : - a 20mm genuine alligator black with red stitching - a dark burgundy oily leather racing type (3 holes) with white stitching, 22 mm - a Jaeger LeCoultre light brown / orange 20 mm Difference in dollars to be discussed. Sorry, I had to take the opportunity.
  16. Beautiful !! *cough* Er, do the PAMS have SS bracelets too ?
  17. You should email her, she will not answer PM. And yes, you should buy from her, as this Breitling is a bargain.
  18. I'll try : why are fake passports more expensive than genuine ones ? I wondered the same about a brand I like to buy from time to time on the bay : Trias. Under 100 dollars you get 2 years warranty. Our choice... But I don't agree either on these inflating prices, for the simple reason I can't afford them... And so do probably many. Of course, when we're answering polls where everyone's supposed to earn between 75 and 150 K per year, dealers use their brain and are confident in selling those high prices. An other proof of where boastfullness is leading ?
  19. Does anyone know the price of a brand new ETA 2824 movement ? Would be curious. It's true it's a basic movement after all. No AR might be useful sometimes, to remind me how I look like while reading time... We all agree, the SFSO looks gorgeous. Tell your work mate you can get him all 3 colours for the same price ! Sure he might think about. So, who did order ?
  20. Hi Mickey, Although that's not absolutely the subject, may I ask if you saw the "cheap" version ? Maybe you would like to change your mind. I agree on no AR (although I do feel it's not missing on my white one, see the pics in my mini-review). The Crystal on the Asian might be sapphire as well (see this thread : water drop test, ticking on the crystal, no yellowish aspect at an horizontal view angle). Don't forget that 90 dollars reps have also sapphire. I learnt not to believe all the marketing things that make us happy to pay more. As for the poor movement... I might be flamed, but the Miyota movement which is cloned is a good movement. Ask The Zigmeister The Swiss movement you have in yours is a used one... It does not mean it's bad. It does not mean either that it's reliable nor serviced nor well oiled... I have 2 Swiss movements in my collection : one works flawlessly, the other has problems. You're surely happy with your 328 dollars watch. I would too, if I could afford it. Notice that for this price I bought my Asian Breitling and a 112H PAM, both are :thumbsupsmileyanim: I even could buy a leather strap from a member to complete my SFSO wardrobe... Most important is that both of us are glad. But don't judge "cheap" reps, some are much more reliable than what you may think. In our case, I would not say my SFSO is twice not as good. Just twice cheaper... And now even 3 times !!! I learnt not to spit on Chinese movements... After all, they come from the same places as the "Swiss grade" reps No offense in my post, of course. Back to the "we're fooled" subject : all readers, buy this from Ruby, you'll have some shock for the price !!
  21. Makes sense ! I would love this explanation to be the right one...
  22. Agreed. Customs risk etc... is a great service to us, I applause that. I remember TT proposing to deliver a complete watch, whereas only my strap was wrong... (I should have accepted !! ) But as you say, if Ruby can do it, they can as well. And she continues accepting PP...
