  1. Sunglasses! I have spent the past year accumulating most of these. Mostly Ray Bans and Oakleys. I was quite surprised with the quality. I have a few gen sunglasses and the ressemblance on most of them is almost perfect. They even included cases, cloths, dongles, boxes and paperwork. Each pair was under 20$. Incredible! Now before anyone mentions UV protection and that typical blahblah, all of these have been tested for UV protection and are 100% UVA/UVB protected. UV protection does not cost anything to make (dollar store glasses are 100% and they sell for 1$). I have done a lot of research on this and if you do as well you will find these are safe (don't believe the one no-source news article you find). Sorry for the lousy pictures. I decided to take some pictures before I packed them away before moving. I have acquired a few more since the pictures. Unfortunately the site I used to get them from doesn't carry any more rep sunglasses (dx.com). The only place I know of now that sells them is priceangels and ioffer but the selection isn't as nice. Here is a rough list of what I have: -Oakley Gascan Custom matte black frame/black iridium lense(gen) -Oakley Squarewire orange lense/silver frame(gen) -Adidas Evileye climacool red frame/red lense (gen) -Oakley oil rig (one black, one white) -Oakley Dispatch II black frame/orange lense -Oakley Holbrook black frame/blue lense -Oakley radar white frame/mirror lense -Ray Ban aviator polarized gold frame/green lense -Ray ban gold frame with green lense (great with a suit!) -Ray ban polarized silver frame blue lense -Ray Ban aviator carbon fibre tech frame and blue lense (My favorite!) -Ray ban gold frame gradient brown lense -Oakley jawbone black/white frame with 3 lenses, case, bag and more (my favorite sport glasses) -Oakley fast jacket black frame with full kit -Oakley splitjacket green frame with full kit There's a couple more I must have forgotten! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
  2. What are the dangers of testing watches this way? I understand I need to let the pressure out slowly but is there a danger to simply having that much pressure on (or in) a watch? How much pressure should you release before tipping the watch into the water?
  3. I just received a DOA 21j Breitling not from a TD (I know..let's move past that) and I'm wondering if and what I might be able to do to repair it. I have worn it, spun it around, hand-wound it and I still can't get it going. It did go for about 20 seconds and stop again at one point. I have read that it might be easier to replace the whole movement but that is not something I want to do now so I'm looking for repair tips.. On another note, which way does a 21j movement wind if putting the watch in a winder? And when hand-winding, you turn the crown clockwise? Thanks
  4. When people say you can never waterproof a rep chronograph watch, doe this include 21j watches where the side buttons operate the subdials?
  5. Yeppers. It was really stuck in there. Thanks.
  6. I recently received a cheapie Submariner and I'm confused as to how the diver extension works on the bracelet and they all seem a bit different. The way it is now, it does not extend the band at all therefor I must be missing something. Thanks! Here it is:
  7. Hey, I have been looking at watch boxes for sometime now and I have settled on one I like: http://www.amazon.com/Quality-Black-Watch-Winder-Storage/dp/B005WAZXTQ/ref=pd_sbs_watch_2 Unfortunetaly, the company does not ship to Canada. I want one exactly like the one in the link (2x2 winders+6 displayed +drawer). Does anyone know where I can get one that'll ship to Canada? I saw one on acetimer but it was 200$. Thanks
  8. Incredible list! I went through it the other day and did not find any dead links. I have ordered a bunch of cheapies along with a few more expensive ones. I hope they are as good as they seem. In addition, after reading another post (http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=31694), I suggest using the codes available here: http://mrrebates.com/search_stores.asp?k=priceangels&g_search_option=S If you follow the instructions on the other post, you can save even more with video reviews and signing up with Mr. Rebates. 3% off: PARF2012 4$ off any order over 80$: PA4OFF80
  9. Does anyone know another way? I have seen some cheapie rolex-type watches that seem to have a pearl for about 4-5$. Does anyone know if they are removable+compatible?
  10. I will go through them to see if I can find the dead links again. I thought I was looged on but wasn't so there will probably only be a few. On another note, when they specify a Mechanical Movement, do they mean automatic, as in a21j? Also, did you go through all of their watches or just most?
  11. I am in Ottawa and I might be interested although I don't see any boxes with winders which may deter me.
  12. Amazing list. I will definitely be using it to purcahse a few cheap reps from them. A few of your links do not work though.
  13. I have read that no rep is waterproof and I have also read that they are. Is there a way I can easily know or test the waterproofness of my watches without exposing them to water? I'm not looking to dive but I would like to be able to swim and shower with them on. I know non-screw crowns aren't waterproof but what about others? With and without subdial push buttons? Thanks!
  14. I'm not sure it's dent. It looks more like it is a gouge. I can't imagine the bracelet is dented unless the links are hollow.
  15. Good thread. I was also wondering this for an upcoming wedding.
  16. I have an old Submariner that was picked up overseas a while back. Unfortunetaly the gold is wearing off unevenly (painted) and I'm hoping to swap the bracelet for a leather one and use the watch as a beater. The problem is that I have lost the pearl at the top of the bezel. What is the cheapest way for me to install a new pearl (or bezel)? It was cheap so I don't want to spend much fixing it but I would like it fixed either way. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  17. I recently aquired a lovely Tag Heuer Carrera Day/Date (Quartz) from a friend travelling abroad but unfortunetaly I have noticed a severe scratch/dent in one of the middle links on the bracelet. I haven't played around with bracelets much but I can't seem to figure out if it's possible to replace it with a spare link (that I have) or if I'm SOL. Can anyone help me out? Also, on a less important note, I noticed the end links getting scuffed from rubbing against the watch itself. Is there any way to buff those out?
  18. The sites are legitimate but are overpriced (imho). The have two fake review websites to promote them as well. Just go with a TD.
  19. Hey, I have a couple auto A21J reps and I plan on getting a couple more (as well as some future 7750s) and I'm wondering how people keep all their watches wound, since this forum encourages owning multiple watches. Do you bother keeping all your watches wound? If so, how do you do it? I have seen automatic watch winder boxes. Do most people use them? Do they keep A21J as well as A7750 watches wound? Are there other options for keeping multiple watches wound?
  20. I know this question will be quickly answered but I have not been able to find a straight answer. What do the subdials and push buttons do on an A21J movement watch? Such as the «economy» ones from Silix. They claim that the subdials are functionnal but I know the chronograph is not.. Ex: http://www.silix-prime.co/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=116_234&products_id=2458
  21. I agree with you. I see what you are saying about the curvature on the RubberB strap but alas I ordered the 11$ off ebay because I did not want to pay 65$ for a strap going on a 35$ watch. Maybe one day I'll upgrade.
  22. How much was the rubber strap?
  23. Another Canadian. Welcome!
  24. Do you think this blue will match the watch's blue? I like this one best. http://www.ebay.com/itm/20mm-Silicone-Rubber-Watch-Band-Strap-Blue-with-Stainless-Steel-Buckle-/251050455272?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a73c5f0e8#ht_954wt_698 Would this one be a better match? http://www.ebay.com/itm/20mm-Blue-Silicone-Rubber-Diver-Watch-Strap-Band-WB1221-/251094930440?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a766c9408
