  1. My 1680 white returned today after having a hart ( gen ETA 2836-2 ) transplant Carpe Diem Cats
  2. Easy fix is to set the date one day in the past No serious if you ask me , but i'm certainly no expert , it's something with the lenght of the stem. Not to upset you but problems with date shifting after pushing in the crown occurs a lot with ETA copies that i got. Let's wait what Zig,Freddy,Tribal etc. has to say on this issue. Carpe Diem Cats
  3. Looking good Tribal. Would be nice if there was a skin in which the hands of the SUB gave the actual time Carpe Diem Cats
  4. I don't know for shure so i will not say if iti's gen or not. Don't the wow feeling so let wait for the experts Could be an interesting catch. Carpe Diem Cats

  7. Don't tell me that the "new"MBW 5513 also changed. I recall that Omega also had some problems with the glass on my so called MBW 1680. Carpe Diem Cats

  9. I have a tropic 39 super doem form Clarks on my MBW 1665 and that fit's perfectly. But let's wait for the real experts liek Freddy and Ubi or Tribla to chime in. Carpe Diem Cats
  10. leograye alligoat is right. If you want a 1680 with a acceptable out of the box dial go for a white one. I changed mine after 2 months from red to white. But more important is that you try to find a "old school " MBW. I've seen some going around lately , try the sales section. ( i think Rosnik has an old school for sale ) The new MBW's are a big disappointment and certainly not the quality as they used to be. Not only the dial is poor but also the bezel construction doesn't work properly and mine came with a cheap ETA copie which caused a lot of problems when you want to change hands. And the MOST important part is buy a MBW from a person who knows what he's selling and know's the difference between the old school and the new MWW ( Maria's Worst Watch ) Carpe Diem Cats

  13. Redwatch, i never tried this procedure but my feeling tells me not to put the corner of the blade in because this will break off. when that happens you have a new problem with a piece of razor blade sticking underneath. Carpe Diem Cats
  14. Wearing my DRSD again Carpe Diem Cats
  15. Believe it or not but i was out swimming with the family this afternoon so i put on my Omega SUB as i call it. I was advised not to swim with vintage watches so i took my fully waterproof SUB Carpe Diem Cats
  16. Trio is a very nice event and this one comes close. Great watches by the wat which date is it today Wear them well Carpe Diem Cats
  17. Thanks again to all. Tribal i do like the lume job a lot because it's done by one of the masters in reluming Stephane i was thinking about your question why i did choose for SL after having a beautifull 1665 DRSD done by the MM with vintage lume. The reason is ( i think ) that i like the 1680 and 1665 models a lot , but i also want my watches to be usefull during night time and in the darksness. Omega tried to convince me that i shouldn't lume it with SL but i didn't listento him. Afterwards i came to the conclusion that the RED dial was way of in it self and that the lume gave a green hue when wearing it in the sun. So the best solution was an old singer white dial with a vintage lume Carpe Diem Cats
  18. Thanks guys i'm enjoying my white beauty more and more every minute. I was surfing some vintage gen sides and discovered that the lume on my 1680 white is almost the same as the gen Archimede since you like the RED i have the dial still available in the parts section Carpe Diem Cats
  19. If you work with it long enough you don't have to turn on the light when you go for a pee With SL you can get almost the same result. Carpe Diem Cats
  20. I also bought one from Rainer GREAT BOX. couldn't find a picture of it on my Photbucket account. If i have some time left tomorrow i will taek a pictures and post it. Carpe Diem Cats
  21. Nice watch , and if i remeber well didn't Stephane had a SUB with a cracked pearl By the wat a good bath will do ownders to your watch. Carpe Diem Cats
  22. Omega did a great job on my troublesome 1680 . Great crown guard job , lugs drilled to accept gen spring bars , gen crown , gen tube , gen insert. I asked him to relume the red dial and hands with SL. He warned me that it's not quit the vintage look and that if it was my wish he would do it. I liked to result but after a few weeks it started to annoy me. After the GTG in Brussels I was convinced that it had to change in a white 1680. I also decided that I wanted an old MBW Singer dial for it. A few weeks passed and I found the solution a old school MBW Singer dial vintige lumed markers and hands and a matt finish was the solution. Here are some quick and dirty pictures ( still haven
  23. Today my transformed RED came back as a white beauty Some quick and dirty pics of her. Still need to buy a decent macro lens. The dial has a matt finishing over it to give ti more vintage look which is visable under a certain angle. Carpe Diem Cats
  24. Nice nice nice nice. Congrats with the great looking T dial. Carpe Diem Cats
