  1. I second droptopman on the perseverance! Both beautiful pieces WW, this right here is what has me so drawn to this hobby. As awesome of a feeling as it might be to own a gen I'm sure, who needs one when there's guys on here that can put stuff together like this, very inspiring builds, my hats off to those involved!

    Cheers

  2. I'm amazed and floored every time I am on this site because of how good and deep the knowledge is, and how gracious the people are. Not just about the chosen interests but lots of stuff.

I come here a lot to read. You should too.

This site clearly is not about the knowledge only. To make a great site you have to participate. Not reading, not searching, is simply not building the community. It is almost comical how many times in how many places (pinned info, faq, etc) it is mentioned that people come asking for the best sub. You would absolutely not ask if you saw all that. We all know you didn't see all that, so we know you're not using the site the way it was designed-to relate humans to each other around a common interest.

These people are not a vending machine for answers.

To get to your original question: Go buy a cheap sub. Any will do, because you're not in it for the details. And the details on the whole are pretty good. In fact, I recommend you get a non-rollie sub-alike because there are a lot of things out there that look fine. You may get more for your money. On the whole you will do yourself well to buy a given brand because you know and enjoy its details. If you don't, don't buy.

The other part of your question. The TDs are T. They all may be a bit different one to another but they are all trusted. If you are up for the whole experience, any will work. Some patience and clear communication is required.

For a guy that's been here for 10 month, it couldn't have been said any better, give this man an award! Haha not really, but hey seriously new comers sign up and expect a hand out all so they can finally obtain their "swear to god it's real" rolex as opposed to those that are here because we have a love and passion of these time pieces, the details, meticulous craftsmanship and research upon research and so much more. I've been here for almost two years now and still have loads to learn, nor will you ever find me flaunting. Irregardless do some research bud as your question is not very hard to find what so ever, there's this thing call a SEARCH bar, give it a try and happy hunting

  3. All gen.. (except for the bracelet links.)

'67 midcase/caseback, Tritium MF dial, tritium hands, MKI faded FF insert, 580 endlinks, 700 twinlock crown/tube, gen T19 superdome,

I kinda thought it was a gen lol it's to gorgeous not to be haha

    -cheers

  4. quaresma, nice shoot, nice watch, nice town - one of the two most lovely cities here

cc33, great watch and interesting with the close caseback, looking forward your further pictures

It's funny you say that Lolex_panelai cause now that blue is really growing on me

  5. Just in from Andrew, not bad.. It's the closed caseback version

I took a shot with this one because I don't like the thick endlinks (the first shiny link that are closest to the case on either side) on the newer open caseback version.

That's pretty nice cc33 love the Nautilis, how does she wear? Been wanting to get one of these kinda leaning towards either the white or brown dial, would love to see some more pics

    Wear her in good health

    -cheers

  6. That dial is pretty bad mate, I'm not an "expert" and hate to point out the obvious but the seconds markers shouldn't have that space and should run under the case, pearl looks decent, someone else can chime in..

    -Cheers

On the upside bracelet and clasp look nice

  7. Easy: be in hurry (I was in the airport just after the security checks) and try to wear your nato-strap watch.

Then see it falling to the ground and land exactly on the crown.

    :cry2:  :cryss:

I'll probably buy the "el cheapo" version and then transplant the movement (witch is a gen ETA). I like this model too much...

You know this is just my thoughts, and I could be waaaay wrong, I've seen "cheap" PVD GMT watches on ebay under the name "parnis gmt" for 115 bucks or so, maybe you could use the case from that watch and swap out the dial, movement, hands, crown, insert etc.. from your ruined case, if I'm right these are rep cases so I don't see why they wouldn't be same size as they are the same as noob cases that I can tell visually????? What's anyone's else's take on this idea? On top of that hey if worse comes to worst you'll even have an extra movement...
