I've been looking around for one of these too. They're hard to find at any dealer. Your best bet appears to be finding one to buy off a fellow member.

You definitely got a bad one. Maybe it was a cheap rep? I owned a Mako XL and absolutely loved it. Sold it because the orange dial made it hard to wear. The bezel was one of the better ones I've owned. The bracelet was really nice - solid end links, easy to micro adjust, and a diver's extension if I remember right. The Mako watches in general are really good watches, your experience is definitely not the norm.

Okay, so I've been bitten by the Panerai bug. I currently own three homages (Marina Militare); two Automatic GMTs and one hand wind with a simple dial (no date or sub second dial). I plan on selling the three to buy one rep, but which one? I'd like one as accurate as possible, 47mm works better for me. I really like the 127, but I know they've had issues with crystals, so I'm not sure if I should avoid them or not. There are so many PAM models that it makes my head hurt. My question is simple, what would the 'ultimate' 47mm PAM rep be? Anyone have one for sale in North America? PM me.

funny you posted these particular models. My father in law owns BOTH of those and I actually like them now that I've seen them in person. The crystal is curved and it is really quite stunning to look at. The sweeping second hand is very smooth on these. As I understand they move at 8 ticks per second.
