not to worry -- for marrickvilleboy, even his replica watches must be made of all-genuine omega parts. including the case. you'll be fine.

do NOT mess with marrickvilleboy. don't hate him because he's heart-breakingly beautiful. angered, he may replace your innards with genuine omega parts. i've seen it happen. it's not pretty -- but it's a great mod.

thanks. how do you like it, with the hollow midlinks? i haven't got one like that yet, but worried it'll either feel too light/chincy, or those mid links might stretch or collect junk inside, etc...

The Zigmeister, there is no doubt you are incredible at what you do. and very rare.

i just hope one day i'll have a deserving watch, and the funds, to get the The Zigmeister treatment! maybe someday soon if i'm lucky.

frankly, i can't even picture how you do what you do, in the lume department. how?! have someone take pictures of your godly hands at work or something. holy smokes.

but it's not safe keeping all those watches in one place. you send me your vintage 5517, 5513, and any vintage sea-dwellers for off-site safe-keeping at my place. my fees are very reasonable, and they will be well taken care of.

that is absolutely terrific. congratulations on both of them.

i had the impression they had the 2892 black ones as well (2254.50), since i did see some comparison shots at some point, but maybe i was wrong about the movement. marrickvilleboy has since outfitted his reps with genuine movements, but it's a bit of a shame that the 2824 cases are noticeably thicker and no mod can fix that. (this marrickvilleboy character is something else! another current thread shows off his stuff. amazing.)

it's a real shame how these reps wax and wane in quality and so on. glad you were able to snag one. i guess at that time i was still naive as to there even existing a rep community, so nourishing my habit with affordable regular watches (seiko, citizen, etc) while thinking my grail watches would be forever unreachable. well, they still are, but there are some darn good reps, aren't there!

congrats on the computer purchase. i used to be the world's greatest mac fanatic, but over the last few years i've gotten to use macs, windows, and linux, each for different things. having your particular hardware is amazing because you can actually have whatever gui or operating system you want (eventually). hope it helps with all the digital photo stuff, too!

sounds good. i'm seeing these various mods just pile up in price, though. originally i was excited that for about $28 + $18 you could get the genuine hands, but then the dial costs half the price of the rep, and i have no idea how much the crown/tube -- and trick installation -- would run. i'm guessing, though, that at least fitting the original crown/stem to the 2824 is not going to be a problem... but then, you've got the original movement anyway, so it's no issue at all.
