I'd like to replace the Dial, Hands & Bezel with a nice set of Superlumed parts.
Where can I go to source these? Can I be proactive, or should I just wait until they come up on RWG and hope to get in first?

I'd like to attend too please. =)

love that car, it was a childhood favorite back in my day, still looks awesome. Im guessing eunos is mazda in australia, right?
Mazda is still Mazda here. Mine is a Japanese import. Some were badged Eunos there. They are pretty much identical with the exception of the badge.

is that a 1992 red miata?
Close enough... 1990 Eunos MX5.
It's eligible for historic registration in 2 years. Lol

Firstly. This is a drunk rant after a very nice dinner and a couple of bottles of very nice French wine in Toulouse with my fiancée.
But...
I'm very, very Disappointed with Switzerland...
It seems that both Basel and Geneva are very expensive for Swiss watches. I must have entered 20 or 30 shops and taken a peek at 30 or 40 more. Every single shop I found was around the 20-30% more mark compared with Australia.
A rough gauge:
Breitling navitimer world $10500 US
Breitling super ocean heritage $6500 US
Hublot big bangs $18000+
Rolex, nothing worthwhile under $9000+
The whole experience has left mildly bitter taste in my mouth. It all came across as a blatant intentional attempt at ripping the customer off.
I've never been more "Pro Fake". For me fakes have always been a stop gap until I can get the real one. Not anymore.
I'll never buy a gen Swiss watch. I'd rather buy a good fake and support a good dealer here at RWG instead of support the gen rip off industry. If the watch breaks, then I'll fix it.
The Swiss boarder police when entering from France were polite as they charged us €40 to use the motorway, but that was it. Everyone else in switzerland was rude. Even driving was bad. Nearly as rude as sydney! We suck! No really, sydney drivers are the worst. 2nd worst Switzerland. 3rd worst Malaysia.
The French in contrast have the reputation for being rude, but they have been nothing but polite, welcoming and helpful in every city and town we have been in. On the road they all stay in the slow lane unless overtaking. They indicate when they are changing lanes and they don't speed up to not let you in.
The same Swiss watches in France are:
Breitling navitimer world $7000 US
Breitling super ocean heritage $5000 US
Hublot big bangs $12000+
Rolex, nothing worthwhile under $6500+
The food in France has been MUCH better too! I think I've put on about 3kgs in the last week.
I'm off to scour the RWG Sales thread.

Thanks Sneed12. That's exactly what I wanted to confirm.
I'll give it a go and post pics.

its not about the date changing at midnight, its the fact the numbers will be upside down at the 9 o'clock position when you rotate the dial...think about it, the date at 3 o'clock is the correct way up....put that same date the opposite side and its upside down...for a date at 9, you just need a new date wheel with the numbers reversed called a date at 9 wheel...to keep the rolex style font you will also need an date at 9 overlay (which im not sure exsists...) unless your happy with the standard eta font...why the need to have crown at 9 anyway? could just wear it on your right wrist regardless and save yourself the hassle...
But with the face rotated on the movement the date would still be at 3:00.
I've been wearing on my right for the last 5 or 6 years. It is fine really. I was just interested in the technicalities of changing it over. Just to make it a little bit different.

Would the date be different?
The date wheel is centred so I thought it should just be a matter of putting the hands back on in the appropriate position. 180deg from where they normally are, so the date changes at midnight.

I ended up buying the new version which is working now.
Thanks.

With an ETA 28xx... yes. The dial feet are 180 degrees apart, so you can literally just remove the hands and dial and turn it around the other way.
I know I will have to adjust hands as well...
Will I have to modify the case or face at all?
No, you shouldn't have to.
Also, I have never removed crystal before. Is it safe to push out push in? Will it seal sufficiently?
Thanks.
Depends on the case construction and how good of a job you do, but probably.
Great thanks!
I thought it would be ok, but it's easier to ask the question than to pull it apart and work out that it will not work.

I have a SeaDweller with its crown on the right. It has an eta 2836.
Is it possible to rotate the face in the case 180deg to change it into a left crown? I know I will have to adjust hands as well...

For me I am getting notifications in iOS but cannot view them in Tapatalk. Somethings are working and some things aren't.
I'll try deleting and re-adding...

Is anyone else experiencing problems connecting with Tapatalk?
I am getting a wrong username/password error. I have logged on fine through a browser to put up this post.

Of the countries I mentioned, which would I be better looking in?
-
I'm off to France in 2 weeks. I'll be spending the month of May driving a clockwise loop starting in Paris.
Of course since I will be in the area I will go through Basel and Geneva. Unfortunately I'm missing Basel World. =(
Anyway...
Where can or should I buy a nice watch? Rolex, AP or one of the many other interesting brands.
Does anyone know of any nice watch shops other than one of the watch shops in the main road. Or should I be in fact buying there?
How do the prices compare to Australia?
Should I avoid buying in Switzerland and get something from the UK, France, or Italy during the trip instead.
-
Was joking about the Sub obviously... I bought a sea dweller years ago.
And yes. I am a noob to this forum, but I'm not a noob to watches. I'm not going to say Im an expert either.
It just seemed like you guys were unnecessarily sticking the boot in. Its a shame to immediately outcast someone on their first day.
As you said, I've been on here 10 days and during that I've learned a lot and chatted to plenty of interesting people. Its been good. It's a shame that mantenuto320 is going to miss out on that experience.

Are you guys all on crack? What's the point of trolling and outcasting a new member like that?
Yeah I know he's asking an obvious question. Oh well, it happens with noobs like me! Why not welcome them and try and teach the correct protocol rather than going straight to ridicule? You guys have so much combined knowledge which you can pass on to others.
Why not try and live up to "Friendliest Watch Forum On The Planet" like the title of the RWG home page states?
Having said that....
Can anyone tell me where to buy the best looking rep Submariner?

The face and bezel are ok, but the hands are totally ruined. Not by me. Replacing them is the only option.
