If you are serious about hosting this in perpetuity, don't use a shady host. Share it on Google Docs.
Like I have done with this handbook of clock and watch repair. .... https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1j2lHMALa7DNjRhOTE4ZWQtMWJiMy00ZGMxLTgwMWQtYzc0OWUzNmI1OTM1/edit?usp=sharing
Thank you Jkay for sharing this. This will be no-doubt prove to be invaluable over the coming weeks, months and possibly years.
Hi guys,
I wanted to share with the community something that i came across while searching for some cool watchmaking tutorials
It is a series of old school (50's-70's)watchmaking tutorials converted to pdf files, and covers most of the issues we really need to
know as bases to our hobby. This iso cd contains all 35 original scanned tutorials for the "Chicago School of Watchmaking". This school has not existed for a number of years and you can no longer obtain the hard-copies.
Hope you find this interesting enough, you can download it here http://www.mediafire.com/?c868g98kneaq4b8
Thank you also jmarin for sharing this. I will attempt to read it all and absorb as much of the knowledge contained within as I can.

All I can say about that movement is wow!
-
I'm with you on this. I think these older movements look magnificent. Coupled with those ornate and delicate hands you end up with a very unique and desirable time piece (imo).

Wow! Absolutely stunning landscape! The red and blue of the night sky works really well with the red and blue of the GMT :-)
-
I like it, works really well. You've now got me thinking to do the same with some of my Pam straps.

I may just be showing my fairly mundane taste in jeans however I tend to stick with good old M&S* "old man" jeans....and chinos.

Fairly tight for me so that an ever-so-slight imprint is left in the skin at the buckle-side if the watch is worn for a typical 16 hour waking day. I prefer near-zero movement whilst the watch is on my wrist, so I don't have to adjust it when checking the time.

Great choice for your first rep and I like your second as well! I recently got a SeaWolf and love it.
As Wiseguy and StormTrooper have said, this is a very addictive hobby and no sooner have you purchased one than you see another one, or two that you want next. That's one of the things I love about this hobby. The collections evolve and grow.

Really impressive work there mellons and what a watch! Looks imposing yet fits really well on your wrist. Love the Cali dial with those hands and the sterile case, great combo!

I put this little beauty together a few weeks ago and for those who know, Labrador was patented in 1885 and this particular movement became the forerunner to Omega the brand shortly after this date.
So this might just be the oldest and largest watch worn on the Forum today as its over 120 years old and a tad over 50mm!

Wow!! What an absolute stunner!
And with providence like that, I would be scared to wear it in case my clumsy self bumped into a wall/doorframe (which I regularly do).
Excellent work there on the build my friend
It's very nice indeed.

What a gorgeous watch! Wear it with pride my friend, you made a great choice with this piece.

The watch looks good to me. Nothing sticks out as being below-par, and I would most likely have approved the pictures. That's just my thoughts though.
I'm not 100% however I believe the "correct s" must be referring to the style of the "s" in Superocean. My guess is that in Version 1, the "s" was not as per the gen. In what way it wasn't correct, I don't know however they say it has now been rectified in the V2.

Great looking watch. The square 12 and 6 hour markers look cool too.
BTW how many UPOs are there these days???? as this looks like a 42mm to me or your wrists are massive
Thanks Gran, really appreciated. I'm not too sure how many UPO's there are currently. This one is the 45mm from Trusty. Lol, thanks although I have fairly standard 7.5" wrists. Perhaps the lighting and the camera angle helped make my wrist look bigger. Now if only that trick could work for other areas...

Quite a surreal experience, almost idyllic....except for the potential fuzzy visitor.
Nothing quite like enjoying a good book in a tranquil setting.

Beautiful watch. I'll be keeping Marlin in my mind the next time I'm looking to get a 111 or similar.
-
I personally like the 7750 one a little better over the non-seconds-hand version dial. I always like to see a running seconds hand (I feel it provides just enough movement on the front of the watch for the eye) however that's just my two cents.
-
Wow, amazing build and you picked a great watch to build as well.

i didn't have any discomfort with the rubber strap
That's great, thanks for letting me know. I'll be ordering one up.
