  1. After a few of us had been scammed by Brietlingguy I disputed the transaction as I had paid the PayPal fees myself even though the seller wanted a gift payment. Others have lost out and I feel bad for them as I have today finally got my money back. The moral here is never to use a gift payment unless your prepared to take the hit if things go wrong.
  2. Awe group hug. Well done for sorting it out.
  3. After looking for ages for one of these, I found one in a M2M sale thread here but have unfortunately been scammed. So, the hunt goes on. It appears that the TD's have sold out and as the watch is no longer in production I'm struggling to find one - any ideas guys?
  4. I don't know if I can ship to him or not but ....... http://m.dump.com/astronautrepairs/ Enjoy
  5. Still undecided, so I'll probably go with the St Christopher as I'd rather play safe. Thanks all
  6. That's a really nice idea, it's just that I don't use pens very much these days. Most of my time is spent on a PC or driving. lol
  7. Hmmmm there's food for thought. I could do but I'm not sure if the hands would clear it. I suppose if was mounted out far enough then the hour hand would clear it and the minute hand should be high enough to clear it. Good idea.
  8. Indeed, I can't afford to lose it as it'll cost about £2500! That's for a small one. I'd have a jeweller set it rather than a watchmaker. As I said, I'm only thinking about it at the moment.
  9. Thanks guys. I was thinking of my gen Seamaster 2254.50, replacing the pearl with a small diamond. The watch is a keeper, especially if I did this mod to it.
  10. Very impressive, just wished to photo's still worked.
  11. My father died some 6 years ago and ever since I have been keeping some of his ashes with the intention of having them made into a small diamond. This is quite expensive - several thousand £/$. I always had intended mounting it in my St Christopher medallion that I've had since I was a kid. However, I've been thinking about the possibility of having it mounted in a watch. What do you guys think and any suggestions as to which watch it would suit - I'm mostly into divers, but am open to suggestions. Thanks all.
  12. No, but he's using the same email address for his Ebay account. So, maybe it's possible to get it through eBay or PayPal, I doubt it to be honest but just maybe.
  13. There must be more people who've bought from him as he had loads for sale.
  14. I can't believe [censored] is censored. A R S E
  15. Cheers fellas. Still a pain in the [censored] though.
  16. Not by me it wasn't, I paid the PayPal fee myself. Pete, what should I say about the errrrr watch? I've not opened a PayPal dispute before.
  17. That's what I did Mike, I just hope I can get the money back from PayPal if necessary.
  18. A few members here have bought from him. Dose anyone have his address - possibly written as a return address on a delivery?
  19. I've read the thread with interest. It's shocking how a respected member of the community can turn rogue. Additionally, maybe there should be a rule for sellers not to request PayPal gift payments.
  20. Sorry to hear that. There seems to be a lot of this going on at the moment.
  21. If that's accepted then I will breitlingguy is the member concerned.
  22. Guys, I recently purchased a watch from a member on here. I paid quickly and was requested to use PayPal gift. I asked to go 50:50 on PayPal fees but he refused, so I paid them myself. The watch should have been posted special delivery within the UK to my UK address last Friday. I've asked the seller via PM and email to update me and nothing. He originally gave me a telephone number which I've left a message on but no reply. I know of at least one other member on here who's having the same problem as me with this seller and wondered if there are any other members who are experiencing the same lack of communication and no watch. The seller has logged on - yesterday, but has not replied to my email or voicemail. He has been selling a fair few watches recently so be careful. Any advice appreciated. Moderators please contact me to advise the next step I should take. Thanks all.
  23. Pics please!!!
  24. Ordered mine yesterday, I'm hoping about 4-6 weeks, so just in time for Christmas.
  25. I've orders the same, well almost - I've ordered it with a cyclops. We shall have to compare and contrast when they arrive. I guess it'll be a month to six weeks?
