  1. Don’t let @Nanuq buy it. Just send it to me and I’ll kindly dispose of it for you. No need for the bossman to get his hands dirty. 🤣
  2. Wow, that looks like the set of a disaster movie. The main thing is you’re unharmed.
  3. I thought about @Nanuq too when I heard. Hope all is well otherwise.
  4. No, he is based in Singapore. Shouldn’t be a problem though. There are ways to get around customs etc.
  5. It’s 99pence here. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll give it a go.
  6. I had my AP diver on Stainless too and always thought it suited it.
  7. Glad to see it’s still doing its rounds. Keep ‘em posted.
  8. How much is the gen? How much are you paying for the rep? Is it close enough looking to the gen to accept these small flaws (that could possibly be corrected) so that you’re saving many thousands of £/€/$ compared to the gen price. If the answer is yes then I’d accept it, if no then you’re in the wrong game and should start saving for the gen. My guess is that it’s just fine and you’ll be happy with it once it’s on your wrist. I had the same OCD when I was new here and thought long and hard about accepting my first piece from Andrew at Trusty. When it did and it arrived I couldn’t even see the faults I found on the QC photos he’d sent. Your choice but I’d say yes.
  9. Glad you’re back Ken, there’s been a few folks wanting to hear from you.
  10. I’m UK based but use @SSTEEL who is a Brit living in the EU. As has been said I’d not put a gen dial in, certainly not yet. Maybe get used to the watch, grow to love it and then decide if you want to spend a lot of cash frankening it with gen parts. Who knows, your taste in watches may even change. That’s what’s great about reps, you can buy, flip, buy, flip very cheaply and enjoy them as you would a gen but at a fraction of the cost.
  11. No, all is good with leaving the photos. As has been said it’s a personal opinion about the watch. For me, I’d accept it as the markers look well aligned and the little overspill of lume (glue?) could be cleaned up if it really bothers you. If you reject it the next one could be worse. If YOU like it accept it, if you’re unhappy then tell the TD why and ask for another.
  12. Yes, it can be that some TD’s say don’t share QC photos. If so, why did you post them going against Andrews request? Anyway, the purpose of QC photos is to ensure that you’ve got the correct watch with no major flaws. Some forums don’t allow the posting of QC photos as people get too wound up about perfection. Looking at yours, it looks fine to me - don’t worry about very slightly misaligned markers or non perfect lume. Remember this is a rep, if you want perfection then spend the thousands and buy a gen. As for enthusiasm, it’s only been a few hours and not forgetting most people go with Rolex, although I want a white PP Nautilus.
  13. It seems to have been removed. I did view the page before but it’s no longer there. Don’t worry, you didn’t miss much.
  14. I wonder if it will sell? Personally I’d rather have 10 AAA+ top quality, made with a dissected gen yada yada yada reps.
