  1. I like that. Do you have more photos? Maybe start it’s own thread.
  2. That sounds like good fun. Looking forward to some photos.
  3. Have you checked you’ve got ‘notify me of replies’ ticked? As per the photo? Or you can click on the ‘follow’ button too
  4. Indeed, Dark Lord, Ivan Stiglet. For some reason it makes me think of the movie Inglorious Bastards.
  5. If you know what you’re looking for even Ebay has a few for sale.
  6. Send a message to some of the TD’s with a photo. I’ve found Toro to respond quickly in the past.
  7. Ingenious! And you can strap that bad boy back on your wrist again.
  8. Looks bloody lovely to me. Congratulations on a superb job.
  9. Please don’t make suggestions like this on an open forum where everyone can read it.
  10. I would say most of us here are interested in the history and horological significance of certain brands. We invest our money in watches that interest us, whether it’s gen or rep. Usually the brands will have a long and established history and have contributed to technical advancements in watchmaking. That could be the holy trinity of AP, Patek and VC or any of the major houses, but one thing they all have in common is a long history and a record of developing new ideas to improve their products. I guess that would then exclude brands like Tag, Hublot, etc and just about all quartz offerings.
  11. Well........ pull up a bollard and I’ll tell ye a story. Back in the days just before my time here at RWG, I hankered after a Seamaster Pro Chronograph. I looked and longed but didn’t want to drop £2750 on a new one. With it being my first luxury/expensive watch (over £500) I naturally wanted it new. My friend had a Seamaster Pro that got me into Omega along with James Bond. I travelled a lot for business back then, often traveling to Switzerland for work and this made the desire even greater - bloody airport shops! My mind was set, I’d save a little each month and buy one later that year. Luckily, I was working in Guernsey too, which whilst part of the UK is also duty free. On one such visit a deal was struck for a VERY good price and I became the proud owner of a new Seamaster Pro Chronograph - in blue of course. I wore it sparingly and with pride, but I felt guilty of the money I’d spent on it and nervous of damaging it. Then, within weeks I discovered RWG and high quality reps, hallelujah, problem solved. I’ll sell the gen and buy one rep of my Seamaster Pro Chrono......... Yeah right! I couldn’t bring myself to sell such a nice watch and investment (lol). Then, what if the reps were rubbish? I’d only have to buy another gen. Best pop the gen back on the winder and just use the rep, or another rep, or the black one, or the white one, or the franken built by Micky. Bugger, this has cost me more than the gen, but it’s been a whole lot more fun! This is the gen. Mr Black - with 2xAR My first rep Seamaster Pro Chrono, now residing in Italy. Mr White, gen relumed dial and bezel, 2xAR. Built by Micky Franken with ETA 7750 and gen relumed dial. Modded Blue with repainted hands, reversed date and 2xAR started with pumpkin insert. .... and now has a dark grey ceramic insert. So in hindsight, would I buy the gen? No, probably not. But hey I’m gonna keep it now anyway for special occasions lol
  12. Thank you. I have thought about sword hands or even P.O. hands, but at the moment I want to obtain some originality. Ha!
  13. Take your pick from these trusted dealers. https://rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-parts-accessories/
  14. Welcome. It’s a little slower moving here but there are some very knowledgable members around.
  15. I guess, like many here, I’m a member of several ‘gen’ forums too. Whilst here in the rep world we worry about and try to make our watches as close to the standard gen as possible. On some gen forums, (some) people are happy to modify and upgrade their watches with non OEM parts such as bracelets, bezel inserts, hands etc. Do we really worry too much about building to gen specs and should we be a bit more open minded about modifying? My rep Omega Seamaster Chrono for example, which has been changed from OEM spec to what I want. I love it, but some Omega officianardos may not!

    PO Pin

I’ve lost many pins over the years. Maybe contact a TD - I’ve had success with Toro before.
  17. Yes, that’s what they have as their address in their section here.
  18. Okay, a few suggestions for the odd occasions when things do go wrong. Check that you have bought from a TD here - there are plenty of fake TD websites out there. ie ones with the same name, but not the same web address. These scam sites will most likely rob you of your money. If if things go wrong, work with the TD: they are trusted for that reason. If you’re getting nowhere then contact a moderator here who’ll try to assist. Remember, the moderators here are unpaid and do this as a hobby so will not be available 24/7. Consider having the watch fixed locally to you - it maybe quicker and cheaper in the long run rather than sending it back to China. Lastly, temper your expectations! These are replica aka fake watches, often assembled in less than ideal conditions. If you’ve received a watch that looks 99% like the gen at 10% of the cost you’re doing better than most people who buy ‘fake’ watches - usually on a beach somewhere in the world whilst on vacation!
  19. Thank you, it was built by Micky@SSTEEL 😬
