  1. Personally, I'd leave it to the experts to either repair or replace. If they replace it you could ask for the old movement to be returned so you can have a fiddle with it and learn. If you actually want to learn about movements I'd start with a couple of cheap 21J watches that you can bugger up errrr work on first. For me, I just leave it to people who know what they're doing,. Anyway, all my hammers are too big.
  2. I think that a smart watch maybe the best option to get something that 'looks' like it, but as for functionality then errr.... no!
  3. Do you know if he's here, or on any other rep forums too? Would like to give these sellers s miss. Thanks for the info.
  4. Yeah, I love Star Wars too, I grew up with the original trilogy. However, this Nixon is too big (typical Nixon) and well, what can you other than it's grossly overpriced. I guess it looks 'okay', nothing more, but for the money you could buy a real watch. Maybe Nixon are hoping for a Bond~Omega relationship. Anyway, does Vadar wear a Nixon in any of the movies? I guess not!
  5. Think of the trouble that I'm having then, with Omega being priced higher than Breitling. Especially as I'm an Omega wearer! Thank heavens that they rep most of what I like. Sorry
  6. I think that the rep factories follow what sells: it's just business. Omega is a premium brand anyway, it has been long before Bond came along. Perhaps Omega make too many special editions, but, hey-ho, they sell, so I guess they're doing something right. As for Brietling, it's the same argument with any of the 'other' brands: IWC, Lange and Sohne, Choppard etc. Rep factories produce more of what they'll sell most of.
  7. Thanks, I don't. But I have a feeling there may well be a next time. I seem to have a week stomach. Maybe I should try to kill it with alcohol, it's working with my liver!
  8. lol, I'll try and remember these tips for 'next time'!
  9. I think it's pronounced Ugly
  10. Feeling better today. I'm going to see if I can keep some food down. Cheers for all the replies
  11. When I was at sea in the Royal Navy I used to suffer from sea sickness. I'd eat strawberry jam sandwiches for the same reason: they taste good on the way back up too!
  12. Guys, I seem to have picked up a bout of food poisoning or a 24 hours bug (hopefully that's all) and am being sick initially every hour but now after about 4 hours. I'm not even trying to eat food, but I am trying to stay hydrated. My wife has some funny ideas, such as Coke being good to settle your stomach. Well, it doesn't help to settle mine, but it does taste better than bile when you're being sick. So, if you're vomiting - drink Coke tastes nice, both going down and coming up!
  13. A double Hammer Time then.
  14. You missed Hublot I think PP has that mystique about it. In the same was Rolls Royce does. Personally, I prefer JLC to AP, so I guess a lot of it is personal choice.
  15. I'll take the one on the right please. :)
  16. Exactly! Interaction and being part of the community proves that you're investing time being here and are likely to be more trustworthy.
  17. Respect is earnt not given. The same goes for trust; it takes time to build it up. In the meantime new members should join in with the conversations going on in the various discussions. This helps establish their reputation. I for one am wary of a new member with a low post count jumping straight in with a sales thread.
  18. Good question, well asked. Alas, I don't know the answer but I'm interested also.
  19. At least some got it Maybe it's the English humour? lol Don't worry I've given her a pearl necklace, but I don't want it back!!!
  20. They certainly do. Now, if you want to buy a gen AAA+ Rollex Submariner send $100 gift payment to kernowRWG@gmail.com
  21. Ok guys, I need your help. Recently I have become suspicious that my wife of nearly 10 years has been having an affair. She goes out without telling me where she is going and comes home late. She never dresses up nice for me anymore but goes out made up to the nines. I started to worry about a fortnight ago when she started making excuses in 'the bedroom'. Anyway, rightly or wrongly I decided to follow her yesterday afternoon. She thought that I was working but I knew something was up so I crept out and managed to get to my car and follow her without her seeing me. She drove about 2 miles and parked up outside a house and climbed out of her car. I saw her straighten her dress before she walked to the door of the house and disappear inside. I sat there thinking about all the good times we'd had over the years and felt myself becoming desperate. What would I do without her? She finally reappeared what seemed like an age later. I glanced down at my watch and discovered that the pearl had fallen out. So guys, do I try and find a new pearl or just buy a new bezel insert? Noob V5 Sub BTW.
  22. I'm not usually one for vintage Rolex, but that Sir is something special.
  23. You've hit the nail on the head my friend. I have bought and sold watches here with both gift and normal payments. During my first purchase here someone tried to scam me - but it wasn't a gift payment so I recovered my money via a PayPal dispute. The seller had asked for gift, but luckily I paid the fees. As always buy the seller/buyer first and foremost.
  24. Yes, sort of. As a new seller (or buyer) you have to prove yourself. With a experienced seller (or buyer) I have no problem with a gift payment. Indeed it does work both ways.
  25. +1 Pay the 4% to protect yourself. If the seller will only accept a gift payment - ask yourself why?
