Spend more money and get the better version. It sounds like you want the reassurance that you've bought the 'best' version available. For an extra $80 I think you'll have peace of mind.
Both dealers are trusted. I've purchased from Tori and the experience was good. Both watches are the same model so just decide who you're buying from and get on with it! * That should read Toro - damn autocorrect!
Ken you owe me 5 x LV wallets and a lounge suit. If you don't send these yesterday I'll start a PP dispute. Oh and it doesn't matter that I've not bought from you before either.
Yeah, customers eh? I feel your pain.
I believe that there are two or more types of tubes available - I had my gen serviced and a new crown & tube installed. The Omega watchsmith said he'd had to investigate which type mine used.
Agreed. This has been unacceptable. Al has agreed to supply a new movement in one week or refund me. If neither happen I intend to visit and collect what I feel is owed.
Maybe you're looking at 2 versions of the SMP 300 chrono. There is the early version and the later post 2008 version. I have both and they are great reps.
+1
Al has responded of sorts. My watch is supposedly on it way to SSTEEL, so I'll reserve judgement for when it arrives. However it would do no harm for Al to do the right thing and refund people who have been messed around. He seems to be sat on the fence as to whether to be a good guy or to go full rouge.
For the sake of balance: MSM1, whilst slow to respond, has to date, always communicated with me, albeit slowly.
Personally, I'll not send him any more work, not because I believe that he is a thief or lier, but because I can't stand the anxious wait. He has remained civil throughout this whole debacle.
Al, if you're reading this, I'm not defending you, just giving an honest opinion of the situation. Now, about my Rubberclad???
He's done work on some of mine:
Black Seamaster Chrono - still working fine..
Hublot Black Magic - two attempts to fix it and it's now very stiff to hand wind (yeah, yeah I know about hand winding 7750's, but you SHOULD be able to, even if only to start them running)
Pam Black Seal, keyless works issue, fixed and lasted about 5 mins before it went again. This will not be returned because of .........
AP ROO Rubberclad - this is where my problems really are. He's had this for around 6 months. I paid when I delivered it to him (in person). He has since started to have problems - read too much work. There has been excuse after excuse but no watch. I'm not the only one mind, there are many people in the same boat as me over on Repgeek. So, do not send him any more work!
Torro is a good trusted dealer. Make sure you use the link to his website from RWG as there are fake sites copying our TD's out there.
Noob and BP are rep factories. Both make great reps. Some people prefer BP, some Noob although sometimes one factory produces a better version of a certain watch compared to the other. I suggest that you spend plenty of time here in the forums and research the watch that you want to buy before spending your money.
Closed factory reps do come up M2M, personally I'd keep an eye there. Otherwise most of the reps seem to have the HEV in the wrong position. Sorry, I can't be of any real help.
That's nice! My wife has a gen ladies Royal Oak. From memory it's 28mm, like yours it's a Quartz movement and whilst hers is stainless and gold, there otherwise seems little difference! Maybe time for her to be introduced into reps!
Hmmmmm I'm watching this with interest. My dealings with Toro have been good so far, but as always there is always another story. My future dealings with Toro now on hold until this is resolved.
Yeah, I looked at one at an AD in London a while back. It looked rather large for me so I didn't try it on. Would suit someone with large wrists - back to you Mike.
