I've been thinking of getting a nice pam, but want one with an unbranded dial--as sort of a tribute watch. I was also thinking of trying to hand paint one myself, or gettign my last name placed on the dial instead of panerai--I guess it may be nuts. But anyway--are there still unbranded dials/reps out there, was it davidsen that used to have em--thanks in advance for the info. LM

Holy chite!----I obviously did not expect this question to yield so much animosity. This question was not aimed at wanting a "dealer list" I could not find a listing on the board for a member based sales section (trade area), thats all I was looking for. --I am a member of all 3 boards, and have been reading exhaustively on the topic......and do fully intend to contribute and upgrade my memberships......but as of right now I haven't even purchased my first piece. This question was a simple inquisition into whether or not this board was set up similarly for member trade. I know fully well now how to access the dealer areas, who's who and all that. I for one am happy to have a place like this to come to and learn, and will contribute to the perpetuation of this privilege. I was just comparing formats and finding out if similar areas on one board may be less obvious on others. It looks like some of us out there are a little less thankful. But- I don't feel chastisement is warranted for asking if the two closely related boards which are set up strikingly similarly have the same forums. "cant we all just get along" Later guys.

I now absolutely love A/R on watches, so I was thinking of getting the link chrono and having it a/r'ed. Would this be an obvious tell? or do you think some gen owners would prefer this look and opt for modifying their own watch. I cant see someone looking at it as a rep and thinking it was better equipped than the gen model....but I may be wrong--whats your take?

Both, although I actually have not purchased my first rep yet. I collect zodiac, hamilton, and any unique swiis piece I have. I don't own an asian movement watch--but maybe....... As for reps, I'm the kind of guy interested in building gen clones using rep cases and ebauches. So I'm collecting dials, parts, and straps now---before I even buy my first rep.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm going to solve that date wheel problem, I also am going to go with a relume. I have not seen a gen in person, do the hour markers on the "tachemetre on the dial" brushed version (maxmsu's pic) have lume on the gen? if not, maybe I might be better off just buying gen hands if they are the only thing on the watch with lume on the gen.

I'd like to know if the link chrono's have factory antireflective coating, and if so what color, both sides, etc. I had previously seen a group deal someone set up for a/r service....and cannot find the thread again adn don't now who was heading it. All responses will be appreciated. Thanks.
