  1. I Think I can answer this with high likelyhood of validity. Custom-made Vietnam dial for RJ.
  2. And also Mikael @ urdelar.se for EU/Scandinavia Possible bias? Yeah. But he’s my real lite friend så.
  3. So you used mine almost straight off? Sweet.. yeah.. the whole thing is mehh.. But some grinding, buffing and polishing (as Mythbusters confirmed) you can have a sparkling turd.
  4. 5517 what to the who? You mean 1680 Red Sub?
  5. Sign me up for 5 x 10-packs.. The 2824.. which grade? H2 H3 H4 CP?
  6. iPhone SE shoots some amazing low-light camera pictures..
  7. Nope.. I also found that extract. Not anymore than that though...
  8. Wasn't that the guy on RWI who decided to reshape the inner groove of Noob inserts, and now seems to be making brand new ones? Anyways looks good. However, the info is very limited. 350 USD for a SA3135? 400 USD for a SH3135/Yuki? Why not buy a JF Sub and have the movement serviced? A couple of Swiss companies have started to make really good parts at 1/10 of the price that can be used on the SH3135 (of course). Their durability is also quite a bit higher than the SH-parts, that can best be described as made of compressed beard cuttings.
  9. You need at most a 700 Twinlock-crown with the correct tube, it's much slimmer in width.. Check Athaya vintage watch parts. http://parts.athayavintage.com/product/aftermarket-700-crown-and-tube/
  10. Actually I have 2 pcs of Domed sapphires with OD actually made for fitting in place of 25-295(C) Here comes some more self-advertising, but check the trades are later. They actually were for (as far as I know) the first Tempus Machina-replica-project ever. That got scrapped after several years due to annoying Vietnamese dial maker that simply couldn't follow instructions... Here's some info: Yeah, correct and incorrect. The only reason they used a 800 crown is since the 6538 they we're emulating used a 8mm Brevet-crown. Their 809H (5512 Explorer) uses the stock 7mm Triplock, even though a 700-crown Twinlock would be more suiting.
  11. Right on! However you can't compare a Raffles 78360 with ARF-bracelet. It's night and day. The ARF-bracelet is amazing. Finish, brushing (just give it some extra polishing on the engravings as there are still burn-dots visible and need to be buffed out. Otherwise I have a BP Daytona 116500-braclet, just refurbished that I'm gonna post in the Trades-area in 4-6 hours, give it a look. Also, the stock crown would be more than suiting as it's a 6mm one, similar to the 114270/1016-ish crown. But sure, one could always add a 7000+700-crown. I just don't see the relevant case why? There's never been a Explorer with 7 or 8mm crown? Also remember it's not super-easy installing a plexi in the stock place as the gaskets & adhesion is quite different. Old plexi-models hade a crystal retainer that creates quite some pressure at the base of the plexi. You would need to find a new gasket (L-shaped) not with the flange fitting a sapphire crystal. Also a straight plexi with the outer diameter straight. Also the total dimension should slighty above the diameter that would normally fit as you want some compression on the gasket + plexi crystal to give at least some water resistance.
  12. Everything is possible, the big question is... How much will it cost you? Have you thought about using the DJ 36mm as a base: https://puretime03.com/featured-products/datejust-36-ss-116234-arf-1-1-best-edition-silver-dial-on-904l-ss-oyster-bracelet-sa3135.html You will get 3 important parts: 1) Good movement (just remove the day-complication) 2) Good case 3) Good bracelet with great SEL What remains case-wise is changing the x-tal and finding a good smooth bezel.. And well of course, the mods you mention above...
  13. I have a brown "tropical" 5508.. With a high grit wire brush to give the surface a hazy look, and some light paint to give the lume uneven tint and/or the salt/egg-method it might look sweet. It's yours for next to nothing. Putting ad up later today. /V
  14. Do you build the lume up in several layers or all at once?
  15. C.. Your progress is astounding. What's your lume recipe nowadays? Please share....
  16. From which version is the rep one?
  17. Maybe you could ask him for an unlumed one with white paint base coat?
  18. This is my baby nowadays.. And a V-amp. My Hughes&Kettner 4'12 and Ibanez with custom inlays is gone. It's think it's called downgrading. Don't have time to play nowadays... But I'll dust it off some day, and see if I still can play 180 bpm or if age has taken a toll on me...
  19. What a wonderful case of let's use Rolex stock photo and apply some Photoshop on 'em. My eyes... It hurts... Instagram 1 - Crappy Company 0
  20. Amazing build.. I get a strong dbane883-feeling when I see those bevels and that amazing Tulip-dial. As far as reps are concerned that is a true grail.
  21. The funny thing is that they actually have some items at reasonable (eBay-reasonable at least) price... Someone must have given them a prankish evaluation-price in this case, and the rest got lost in translation.
  22. For a limited time only you can purchase a simple 100 bucks 16800 bezel insert - with a level of peroxide-annihilation making even Pam Anderson stand in awe - to the low price of sub-3000 USD. P. S. It's in very good condition the seller wants to reassure you in case you are unaware of its Rolex stock condition. eBay: Deal of a lifetime... First dibs: 1) hologramet 2) automatico? 3) Nanuq? 4) others......?
