  1. I recently acquired a 6263 kit that includes a converted 72 to 727 movement. The balance wheel is broken but the seller will provide a brand new one. Now, my question is: Who can perform the repair and overhaul here in the US? I'm in Chicago and maybe there's somebody near me that I'm not aware of.

Thank you all for your help.

One of my favorites was the one about the 'teen watch dealer', where various old timers faced the affront that some rich kid was apparently dealing huge value vintage pieces on instagram, and proceeded to character assassinate him for selling a 6202 Turnograph that nobody could actually agree was "real" or not.

That thread was ridiculous, they murdered that kid. They just see people that are into reps as poor wannabees, guys on rep forums know a lot more of these collectors with deep pockets

  4. Sadly, no. That is their 1 big fail. I have never seen an aftermarket Newman dial (including the infamous 'Texas' dials) that got that correct.
If you have the courage/skill to remove/reinstall all of the index markers, find a piece of pipe with an inner circumference that matches the intersection of the minute track/dial face & sandwich the dial between a flat plate & the pipe. Use a caseback press (or similar) to press the edge of the pipe into the minute track to create the step. While you are at it, locate a dowel or solid pipe whose outer circumference matches the diameter of the subdials & press those to the same depth as the minute track, ideally, both should be ~.5~1mm. Be very careful because it is very easy to damage an expensive dial - ask me how I know.

Thanks Freddy, as usual very knowledgeable on the subject!!!
So MQ has good fonts and spacing but no step... I was checking Phong's PN dial and couldn't make out from his pictures if it has the step or not; this leaves Phong's son as the only one offering a dial with the recessed minute track?

A nice 6263 non PN would be what? 25-35k depending on condition b&p?

more or less yes, finding a good example is getting hard since collectors and dealers with big pockets are hoarding them and flipping them for higher prices
