I followed that thread on TRF.
The sad thing is that most of the "traditionalist" or whatever you want to cal it tend to view all builds in this category as some kind of scam and we know that is not the case. Guys like this that profit on being dishonest paint a bad picture of the "build" hobby. Just a bad deal for anyone that enjoys the hobby.
There was another thread today of a guy who got scammed on a red 1680 from the same seller. Only gen part I think was the movement and he paid 7.5k for it.
I just hope it is not someone we/I know....

Alright, answer the question.... WHERE did you find that crystal?!
Had to pay retail. I will PM you where.

Love the idea of getting members involved. The mods and flavor here here is awesome
Just hope it stays civilized.
Never dealt with him personally but bought a DW Spinmaster 6263 a couple years ago from the original owner who never did anything to it. The mod work and assembly was excellent. It was a very nice, very good running Franken.
I am always for giving people second chances.

Matt would be the best source. If he says it is gen, it is gen...
Nice looking watch.

Sorry to hear this.
I use my dremel for a lot of stuff but would not try and drill lug holes with it.
May want to try a different set up. I will do some shaping and other work with a dremel but generally will have someone with a good press and clamp do lug holes.
JMB does them for reasonable price.
Good luck.

Great review! Last couple times at the AD I have been close to purchasing this blue model. Maybe I will try the rep first to see how I like the look and feel on the wrist. Nice pics

I have an OEM Asso at home. I will try and grab some macros of the underside when I get back from my trip.
